The room view is what sold us on it, definitely worth it. The restaurant staff was very helpful and the breakfast was great.

The reception staff was not friendly or professional. We arrived around 4 PM for check-in and the reception was closed, we called the number and no one picked up the phone. We had to wait 20 minutes, kept calling, and went to the restaurant to try and find someone until the reception staff showed up and didn't even apologize for the delay or provide an explanation. Very unprofessional. Additionally, there was a pool for use that this person didn't even mention to us and we only found out as we were checking out. They need better staff.

Breakfast provided was lovely, fresh and various options were available! Room was amazing with stunning views from every window. Good size room and bed was very comfortable, we slept like logs!

Location is stunning for the view but very far from anything and taxis were costly! As we were visiting off peak, no pool bar and the only place to get a drink was in the restaurant which had limited opening times and was a good distance from the pool side

We had two stays. One in the apartments and one in the hotel rooms. The apartment was not good. Broken down and weird, sort of like the Shining. BUT, the next night in the hotel was fantastic. It has great restaurant attached and was really lovely. The staff cannot be nicer and more helpful, especially the manager. But the highlight is swimming in the incredible water at the bottom of the cliffs. The view is spectacular and the rock beach is wonderful. It is also located nearby some great little coves for dining and swimming. Costa Brava has lots to offer. I would go back over and over - but only to the hotel - would not risk the apartments again which are all different and owned by different people.

The apartment

The location, it’s fabulous. The gorgeous sea views from the room and the restaurant. The room was small and simple with comfortable bed and small shower room behind, hardly luxurious but as the weather was good we only wanted to look at the view. The breakfast, nice choice, good coffee etc. Nice little infinity plunge pool near the rooms, to cool off.

The swimming pool was quite a walk clambering over rocks or taking an eerie lift down through the cliff. Found the menu in the restaurant a little limited. The steps down to the restaurant could be challenging to someone with walking or balancing difficulties. Not particularly well lit at night.

Beautiful property, located by the seaside with amazing views. The infinity pool is also perfect. Good breakfast with variety of options.

The only thing I didn’t like is that the sea view rooms on the lower floor have no privacy - there’s a pavement just in front of/below the rooms so passersby can easily see what you’re up to. Inconvenient as the bed is facing the seaside/pavement, so if you’re in bed and want privacy then you have to have the curtains closed. Rooms on the floor above don’t have this issue.

The location & setting are fantastic! We loved spending time on the terraces and swimming around in the coves (which are shared by guests & residents of the apartment building). The closest nearby town of Begur has excellent restaurants and shopping. There were several other nearby towns and beaches that we enjoyed as well. The included breakfast in the restaurant next door was excellent.

Hotel room was small and spartan, fixtures & furnishings were dated and tired. The king-sized bed was comfortable, but swallowed up much of the room. There wasn’t much space for our luggage and gear. The hotel rooms are sandwiched between the restaurant and the apartment building. The restaurant was very busy and got noisy late at night. We never had an opportunity to try lunch or dinner because it was already booked with guests from the apartment building and others that came from nearby. Because the grounds are shared, there were lots of children; something we weren’t expecting.

The room had a lovely view. It was very comfortable. The restaurant was excellent as was the breakfast which came in the price of the room. The private beach, access to which was via a lift in the nearby apartments and a catacomb-like tunnel in the cliff, was ideal for those who like a swim.

I would have preferred a door to the shower room that closed more firmly - it was on runners and opened itself unless the waste paper basket was lodged against it. There was a leak in the shower screen which allowed water to run outside. I should have mentioned that at the time but didn't. That may indicate how important I thought those issues were.

We had the balcony room (Room 1 - which is easily the best room in the hotel as you get a 100% sea view from all sides. The staff are lovely and it was a perfect stay. Only 10 minutes away from Begur by car and close enough to many amazing beaches, restaurants and the hotel itself is totally secluded. Bliss!

The only downside is the food in the restaurant which is beyond despair and ridiculously overpriced - the best ingredients treated with no respect, flavour or seasoning. After speaking to other locals and regular travellers to the Costa Brava, this is a view of the restaurant that is held by everyone - best view, worst food. But luckily there are lots of great restaurants around

The location was by far the best thing there . The spectacular views overlooking the sea from the pine tree forested area was great! The breakfast at the cap Sa Sal restaurant was abundant , healthy and the setting was incredible ! The breezy coast line was great during the hot weather .

The rooms are quite simple, on the small side but we had a terrace which was nice. I would not say that the room and bathroom was a 4 star but more of a good standard 3 star. We overlooked some of the shabby side of things because we were so in love with the location! We stayed 4 nights and needed somewhere to cool off and relax and the very location and scenery exceeded our expectations.

The room was beautiful with a panoramic window giving a delightful view of the bay beyond. The bed was very comfy and the linen was gorgeous. All the reception staff were fabulous and very helpful. The restaurant and bar next door were fantastic - book early to get in. All the staff were great there too. And lovely paths to walk to other beaches and villages were charming.

Nowhere to put your clothes! I would recommend the hotel installs some drawers under the shelf unit to help. The room is very compact which is fine, but there were very few cloths hangers, and all the shelve in the wardrobe were taken up with blankets / robes / safe etc. We only had 1 teabag for the 2 nights. The bathroom sink was badly cracked and needs replacing. The decking outside had given way and needs repair to be safe, and there was some item stuffed under the steps that made it look less cared for and untidy. Just to remove these would make it look much better.
