This is an exceptional hotel in every sense. The facilities, particularly the Spa, were marvelous and kept very clean. The buffet was excellent and the evening entertainment of a very high standard. Location is very good but swimming in the sea in front of the hotel is tricky due to the nature of the lava terrain. However, there is a lovely sandy beach about a kilometer to the northeast.

The only thing that was annoying was that our upwind room neighbours chain smoked on their terrace. This made it tricky to sit on our terrace and enjoy the wonderful ambiance/sea views. The hotel should group smokers at the downwind side of the hotel. They should not be afraid of doing this as a Spa holiday is about health and fitness and not enduring other people's second hand smoke fumes. The smokers ship has sailed - let's get with the programme.

We enjoyed the care of the staff and the luxurious building with a lot of marble and taste. The slightly remote location is attractive as no noise from other bars reaches the hotel. The hotel offers sports activities with very encouraging instructors. The breakfast is superb and plentiful in choice. The reception staff, porter, and room service, including turn-down service made us feel special.

Two piers, one under renovation, now obscure the view. The clientele has changed to mainly all-inclusive visitors, occupying every sunchair and crowding the bar. After one restaurant visit, we noticed a change to past exclusivity and standard but found very good alternatives.

Breakfast was outstanding, we didn't want to leave the hotel doesn't matter where the location is the hotel is enough for you never to leave. The sunbeds were like 5 star beds you could sleep in them all day

Everything was perfect. And we were greated by the most lovely man who took our bags and escorted us to our room 154. I manage over 1k staff for Ryanair as a general manager and I always take interest on staff moral and you could tell he was so invested in his job and took pride in showing you the hotel and how amazing it is like it was his own hotel.

I'm never choosing the same place twice for my vacation, but this hotel is something so special, that I came again after 6 years, because it's really extraordinary. The location, the junior suit with frontal ocean view, the spa, the food, everything was on the highest level. Special thanks to Laszlo from reception, he was the most helpfull receptionist I ever met. I'm sure I will come again!

Length of time we had to wait to be served in lobby bar. Not enough staff....pleasant when we did get served. Would of expected more bar staff in a five star hotel

Both swimming pools were very cold, one was slightly warmer but still quite cold. Although pool area not open until 9am and reservation of sunbeds wasn't too much of a problem. Would like to have seen reinforcement of their poolside policy stated on a board claiming that towels would be removed after 25 minutes if guests didn't turn up. We saw beds being reserved from 9am to at least 2pm! The pier outside and surrounding area looks tired and in need of TLC The Hotel was quite a walking distance from town centre and decent beaches

Spent 10 days in November in this beautiful, large hotel with great restaurants. The junior suite grand deluxe ocean view was clean, beautiful, spacious and with perfectly functioning air conditioning. It's useful to have the app on your phone, so that you can make reservations for the various restaurants on time. Compliments to Ricardo, waiter we met at the Japanese restaurant Himitsu. what an attentive and correct, customer-friendly waiter he is, hats off! All in all a great hotel for middle-aged guests. The adults only concept is wonderful and gives a lot of peace.

Too bad the rooms were not equipped with an ironing board and iron. We were allowed to borrow an ironing board for about 1 hour, so that was ok, but for a 5 star hotel I think that is a requirement.

Spa facilities

Ants or some insects crawled out of one of my tea bags in the rooms tea and coffee table, that was a bit creepy but I guess cant be helped to a degree. Also some pringles crips that was left in my room by the same table was opened already and was stale when I tried one, they had obviously been there some time already.

We had a fantastic stay. The room (229) was gorgeous, comfy, and large, with a bath and amazing rainforest shower. We had a stunning view of the ocean off the balcony and a view of the pool out the bedroom door, the pool area was stunning, and the whole vibe of the place was quiet and calm. Spa equally lovely, the bar/reception is such a gorgeous space, and there's an easy beach walk to the local town. Total relaxation from start to finish.

I would recommend avoiding Olio restaurant - could barely eat our fish main. Other restaurants are lovely though... Japanese restaurant and pool side bar as our top picks.
