Very clean and spacious throughout the hotel and outside. Pool area is beautiful. Very handy for the bus stop and managed to work out which route took us to the old town. Taxis arrived within 5 minutes when requested by reception staff. Staff were so helpful and pleasant at all times and spoke English very well. Really enjoyed the Karlos Nguema trio music evening.

Should have chosen a room with a balcony. It felt a little claustrophobic at the back with the hill so close but we didn't spend much time there anyway as there was so much to see and do in the city! Check in process was slow.

Perfect location, good parking and all facilities

The service at the pool was not OK, the person was just alone. And the beer was not available or not cold. It happened every day, so room for improvement. Plus too crowdy due to local people who use the Metropolitan Gym and Spa. Seemed outbalanced with for enough space for hotel guests.

Spacious, comfortable room. Lovely pool area. Reception staff very polite and helpful. The number 16 bus outside the hotel runs to/from the old town every 20 mins.

There was no mirror in the bedroom. The only mirror was located in the bathroom (hot) which made getting ready a bit difficult if one of you was in the shower.

The pool and the staff were very good. It had recently been renovated so it was in great condition. The beds weee very comfortable. We had a balcony so it was a nice bonus.

The gym has to be paid for. Breakfast is only OK. No selection of eggs for example which I would have expected.

We didn't realise the hotel was half was up a long hill. The bus service was good. There were just a little too few sunbeds. Had to wait for a while up until two became free.

Responsive and helpful staff. Very nice, updated facilities. Comfortable bed. Excellent breakfast. Dinner at the restaurant was exceptional for a hotel restaurant.

Floor of shower was very slippery.

great location, close to the beach and also on that side is the funicular to the mountain top with fantastic views and old theme park (recommend the game Turtles - was really fun :) breakfasts were also good , parking 20euro/night family room is composed of two rooms connected with each other - good option for a bit older kids

swimming pool not available except for summertime :( indoor swimming pool is in the gym in the same building, but costs 20.euro /.person and kids are not allowed gym also is additionally paid 8euro /person, but around there are plenty of great places for jogging ;) leaking air conditioner

The bed was large & comfortable. Bathroom Towels were good quality with use of toiletries.

Bathroom door was difficult to slide. Tv more english channels & sound low.

This was our second visit to Barcelo Costa Vasca which is a large modern hotel in the Antiguo district of San Sebastián, which is at the far end of La Concha beach. There are regular bus services to the city centre, but we prefer the pleasant 30 minute walk along the promenade. Check in was welcoming and efficient and we paid for parking which is in a very large underground car park at the hotel. Our room (108) is smart and comfortable with a very modern en-suite with good quality towels and toiletries. The room also has a small balcony overlooking the front of the hotel. Breakfast at the Barceló is a buffet affair augmented by an egg station should you wish a freshly cooked omelet, and I must say that the whole set up is superb. Not only is there an excellent array of hot and cold food, but there’s plenty of waiting staff to keep everything replenished and tables cleared. You couldn’t get better. This is a top class hotel that ticks all the boxes for us re location, parking and comfort. It will certainly continue to be our hotel of choice when visiting San Sebastián.

The location is in a nice neighbourhood area walking distance to the beach with nice restaurants nearby. Check in staff were very nice and friendly. Our room was amazing, good air conditioning, comfortable beds, quiet with a balcony which we did not expect and were delighted with. The furnishings of the room were very nice.

You had to pay to use the gym, it was an independent health club (very nice) it would be great if the hotel either had its own gym or it was free for hotel members to use the health club gym.
