The staff was very friendly, including the bar staff. The rooms were quite modern and refreshed. The location was great if you want peace and quiet, with 5 min walk to the beach. If you want to be around the busy Old Town, it's a 30 min walk, buses across the road of the hotel takes about 10-20 minutes to get there. I had booked a double bedroom and requested a double bed, however we arrived to a room with two twin beds joint together. As I was travelling with my husband to celebrate our anniversary, I asked at reception if there was any actual double room available (nothing worse than falling/being stuck between 2 beds) and they found one which we only had to wait to be cleaned. The second room was a smaller than the first, but suited us. I would stay there again.

We had the breakfast on our last day and was alright (I was happy I didn't pay for it at the beginning). The pastries wasn't that fresh, neither juices or coffee, not sure if because we were down "early" in off peak season (around 9.30am). We found a coffee shop the day before on the next street, which has seats outside and serves lovely coffee, fresh pastries and sandwiches, that might have increased expectations on hotel breakfast.

The hotel has obviously undergone recent refurbishment and has attractive reception and communal areas. However the allocated room 104 was disappointing. The shower overflowed on all the occasions used. We told the young man on reception who assured us it was fine and not a problem and if we needed more towels to say. Having to mop up water on the bathroom floor is not my expectation when staying in a hotel of this rating. There appeared to have been some maintenance work in the ceiling inside the doorway. A square in the plaster board had been cut out and replaced by using tape etc, resulting in an eyesore.

Location is great, with parking spaces around at a low cost at least in the low season. Room is clean, with a king size comfortable bed, and the hotel is next to the bus stop for buses nr. 5 or 25 to get to the old town if you don't want to walk. It's also near the beach, just 2 blocks away and in a quiet neighbourhood.

Breakfast could have more hot dish choices, like omelletes. We were lucky to find car park with tickets for 24 hrs to be paid everytime we needed at the back streets of the hotel. Parking in the hotel private garage costs 25 EUR per day which we didn't use at all.

We recently stayed at Illunion San Sebastián for four days during the end-of-year holiday, and it exceeded our expectations in every way! From the moment we arrived, we were pleasantly surprised by the hotel’s warm and thoughtful hospitality. One of the highlights for us was that the hotel is pet-friendly. Our dog was welcomed with a lovely gift and some treats, which made us feel instantly at home. It’s always a relief to find a hotel that goes the extra mile for furry family members! Our room was very nice. It had a spacious balcony, a modern and well-decorated bedroom, and modern bathroom. Even though the hotel is located on a busy street, we didn’t hear a thing thanks to the excellent soundproofing of the windows. It made for a peaceful and restful stay. We also made use of the hotel’s parking, which was spacious and convenient. However, be sure to reserve your parking spot in advance to ensure availability. The location is good—just two blocks from Ondarreta Beach and about 2 km from Concha Beach and the old town. Additionally, the parallel street has plenty of bars, cafes, and shops, and there’s even a supermarket nearby for any essentials. Overall, we had a wonderful time at Illunion San Sebastián. We’ll definitely be returning next time we’re in the area!

I liked that it felt brand new and everything worked, except for the aircon. Could not get the room to cool down and if I opened the window it was too noisy. Location was great for me as I could get to the promenade / beach within a few minutes. It was also close to family I was visiting which was great.

Aircon did not work properly. Cleaners forgot to replenish biscuits and coffee ( once). . But receptionist went out of his way to help out. Cleaners once got in to clean the room far too early, before I had a chance to shower. So I was left with wet towels for two days.

Great location near the Monte Igueldo side of San Sebastian - good access to the beach, funicular to top of Monte Igueldo (a must) and near quite a few eateries where we had breakfast and tapas in the evening. It is about 30 mins walk around to the other side of La Concha bay where the old town is located. Secure parking is onsite under the hotel (payable). There is also an unloading bay immediately in front of the hotel (effectively part of the pavement!). Room was modern, clean and had everything needed (coffee, tea, biscuits, TV, air con etc.).

The bathroom was quite small - not much room to move or put toiletries. It was fine for 2 nights though.

The hotel is not in the old town but near Lorotopea and close to the Miramar Palace which suited us as it is in a quieter area and only a 15-minute walk to the old town via the promenade. The room was recently renovated, spacious, clean and with all amenities. We booked our stay on BB but for 1 day we paid for breakfast at the hotel, it was good but nothing special, we found better options nearby the hotel.

We stayed at the hotel in April and although it was still cold outside, it was sunny and the room was getting hot. The AC is controlled and although we were adjusting it to the coldest setting it wasn't doing much to cool our room. Thankfully our room was on the upper floors and we slept with the window open.

This hotel is at the opposite end of the bay from the old town/ main shops, but you have the option of a bus or the walk along the promenade above the beautiful beach. You can also get a taxi to the main bus station, if you want to travel further afield. The staff were so helpful and friendly. Room was very clean and tidy, with plenty of space. Nice choice at the breakfast buffet. We also used the all day dining facility in the evenings and I was able to get vegetarian options, which isn't always easy!

We could not fault this hotel.

The breakfast was fantastic, all and everything you could ask for in a breakfast. Fresh juices and breads, fresh coffee and various cheeses and breakfast items. Service was excellent. Loved the size of the rooms and the simple elegant and clean decor. Location was wonderful just a couple of blocks to beach area and all amenities and restaurants.

The hotel is very well managed and we noticed Manager constantly checking for things that could be resolved quickly. As of now I don't have any complaints or issues I din't like. We had a very nice visit.

At first we did not get the room we booked. I requested twin beds. The first room offered had maintenance being carried out in it when we arrived. We were moved to another room but it had a double bed. The third room had twin beds and was much nicer. This was not the fault of the receptionist who was booking us in and she did everything she could to resolve the issue to our satisfaction. The breakfast was excellent and the room was of a very high standard.

There was no secure parking available for our stay which was disappointing but we found adequate parking a short walk away from the hotel.
