The picture on your review email could have been taken from the balcony off our room! Couldn't ask for anything better. The hotel, although 'basic' in that there isn't a gym, pool etc, is everything you could wish for for a short stay (we stayed for 5 nights). It is an immaculately presented and clean family owned and run establishment in a quiet rural area.. Every member staff was unfailingly kind, helpful and nothing was too much trouble for them. Breakfast is good value at 8e pp and tea/coffee and homemade cake is available free of charge in the breakfast room (wjich hss superb views) all day. Although situated halfway up the mountain towards Igueldo, the number 16 bus service into Central San Sebastian (with stops immediately adjacent to the hotel) is excellent (3 buses per hour) and cheap. All in all, an excellent place to stay if you are visiting San Sebastian and the surrounding area.

The reception staff were so helpful and kind So also was the chef . Continental Breakfast was excellent with home made cakes an loads of coffee hot drinks all day was also a nice touch Room was very comfy. The hotel had a very Spanish feel to it The view from the hotel was lovely We even liked the lighthouse flashing from the distant hill. Parking was really handy and also easy access to bus to the town every 20 mins and cheap. Recommend the Fernicular railway which take you up to the amusement park Lovely views and an easy walk back to hotel

Location was excellent you felt you were in the middle of the countryside. This is a typical Spanish family run business. It was lovely to wake up to the sound of birds. We had a sea view room which overlooked the cliffs. The staff had lovely smiles and Ignacio was most helpful on where to go and where to eat. Buses run just outside every half hour so it was easy to get into the city. A bonus was being able to park our car on site. Will definitely use this same hotel again and stay longer if visiting the area. San Sebastián is a lovely city. .

The hotel was clean and comfortable if a little dated. The staff were obviously proud of the hotel and were really helpful. The location was quite a way from the city centre/old town but the bus service right outside the front door is superb. The sea view, though, is what sells this hotel to me (fabulous) and when the lighthouse starts turning!!! LOVE IT. The breakfast is OK and worth €8 but being able to make a cup of tea whenever was the best.

We received a very warm welcome. It's a place with real Spanish character. We had a pleasant room and a comfortable bed. There was a first-floor terrace looking out over the coast and city for guests to use. There's a good breakfast, with gluten-free items provided by prior arrangement. The dining room had a superb view over the sea from high above and was available for guests to use for relaxation and hot drinks all day, and to consume our own food there, with the option of buying reasonably priced drinks in the evenings. (We felt the whole stay was great value for money.) There's also a garden, with a swing and seesaw for children. It's within walking distance of a rather quaint but superbly-sited amusement park, 2.5 euro entry fee, based around an old fortress and with stunning views (especially from the terrace bar at the top) along the coast to the west and over the city and mountains behind it. The bus into and from San Sebastian stops right outside the front of the hotel, and runs frequently, even on Sundays. It's an enjoyable trip, going right to the edge of the Old Town, scenic, efficient, and reasonably priced. All of the staff did their utmost to ensure we enjoyed our stay - it's the most welcome I've ever felt in a hotel - and we very much hope to return there.

We loved the whole experience. Some may prefer to opt for a room facing the sea (they seem to have balconies), rather than facing the road as we did, but our room wasn't particularly noisy, and was quiet at night, plus we could see the buses!

The hotel is located in the beautiful Igeldo, a short walk from the fairground and Funicular Railway. The no 16 bus stops right outside so it is easy and cheap (€1.85) to get to and from all areas. There is ample free parking on site. We were greeted by Tanya who clearly and enthusiastically explained everything we needed to know about the area, attractions, places to eat and drink. We do speak Spanish, but Tanya and all staff spoke good english. Whilst the rooms didn’t have tea and coffee making facilities, guests could get a coffee/ hot drink to take the room anytime The hotel was scrupulously clean. Breakfast was continental more than ample with plenty of choice.

Nothing, it was great

A simple but lovely hotel. The pictures do not do the place justice. The location is excellent if you want to get out of the busy city center. There is a bus stop right outside the hotel and it is only 10 mins into the center by bus. The breakfast is basic (cereals, bread, cakes, juice & coffee) but it does the job fine, and the views out over the cliffs and bay from the dining room are beautiful. We had a triple room and a double room and they were both lovely. Spotlessly clean and comfy beds.

Very little negative to say about the hotel. The noise from the other rooms and corridors travels quiet easily, so pack a pair of ear plugs and you'll be fine.

Amazing location and sea views from room balcony. Such a warm family welcome from the hotel owners- it has been in their ownership for generations. Tastefully decorated with arts and music references. Felt like an artists’ haven. Perfect retreat after sightseeing in the spectacular city of San Sebastián. Bus is 5mins to the old town straight from front door. Excellent traditional hotel- we really appreciated the personal touch.

There was nothing we didn’t like!

The situation of the hotel was the main decision factor for our booking. The seaview is amazing, You can reach the beautiful city by car (not our choice), by bus (stops oppiste to the hotel), or by funiculaire (10 minutes steep walk from the hotel). The staff is amazing! we felt really welcome and got all the information required for a very interesting stay in the city, from places of interest to visit, restaurants and bars, public transport etc. And all this in perfect french! We loved the view from our room, overlooking the sea (not the Concha, but the other side of the bay). The room was spacious and comfy. The hotel was far from new but very well maintained. There was a safe parking. The breakfast was served in a room with amazing vieuws. The quality of the breakfast was good, the staff very friendly. We loved our stay here and would certainly come back if we were to stay in the regeion again.

We did not like the coffee unfortunately

The hotel was well situated and just a bus ride into the town and beaches. The breakfast was excellent and there was always drinks and cakes available during the day if required. The staff were very helpful and friendly

Your booking system - we encountered a scam after booking and thank goodness for the hotel who were able to sort out the booking and confirming this was a scam. Booking.com did not assist at all!
