A stunning hotel in a stunning city. The reception team were excellent when we checked in, giving us all the necessary information re parking, access to the hotel, city information and much more. It was lovely to meet the owner of the hotel and to understand the passion behind owning and running such an old and interesting hotel. Thanks also to Jouseff who gave us a tour of the wine cellars and winery - thank you, I'm only sorry we didnt have room on our motorbike to take the wine with us! A great stay and we look forward to visiting again.

Wonderful location in the heart of the old town. Beautiful and historic building, comfortable and clean room, friendly staff, excellent meal in the restaurant
Nothing about the property - for people like us who over pack maybe consider a smaller case to make taking cases up the stairs to your room easier. Also bear in mind the need to get your luggage from the drop off point outside the gateway to the town to the hotel - not too far but worth remembering you have to do it!

Same-day booking that exceeded our expectations. The posada is a beautiful old bodega building in the medieval centre of Laguardia, a delightful small town on the border of La Rioja and Pais Vasco. The owners kindly opened the restaurant that evening on their usual night off and Javier's cooking - and his wine - were delicious. Our room had a super-king-size bed in which we slept soundly. We cannot recommend the hotel or the location highly enough. Gracias!

The staff were lovely and welcoming and the old building is attractive and dignified. Breakfast was very good. Best of all was the location in the amazing old town of Laguardia, set on a hilltop in the heart of Rioja Alicante. We could easily reach the Balcon de Rioja (fantastic views) and the beautiful, quiet mountains of the Sierra de la Demanda. Don’t miss Frank Gehry’s funky hotel en route. The other amazing Bodega, Ysios, can be seen from the eastern car park for the town. Also watching town clock on the hour is quite a thing.
Well, you meed to park outside the old town walls and trundle your suitcases to the hotel. It isn’t far and we were prepared for this but wouldn’t suit some people.

Character, style of the accommodation. Felt like we’re in the old castle, because we almost were, it’s a beautiful historic building in a walled village of Laguardia. At the same time, the room is well equipped and modern, comfortable to stay.
Lack of natural light in our particular room (small window faced an internal wall), but wasn’t a big issue as it was only noticeable in the morning when we got up, as we were out all day.

Very cute, historic inn and winery close to everything in the town, including one of the gates near the parking areas, which are all outside the city walls. The husband-wife team that runs the hotel was very helpful and it was a nice bonus to have a great restaurant and a working, historic winery in the hotel. Everything was fantastic and we would stay there again.

The owner and the staff were amazing with us, they took time to explain us about the wine area, their wines, the town, the history. They made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. The property was lovely, it was ancien style as from 1619 but very well kept so it had all the facilities to make the experience wonderful.
There was nothing we didn’t like

This city is beautiful and the hotel is in a perfect location.
The beds were hard and there was not a view out of our window. I guess that was to be expected from a hotel within a walled city,

Everything was great! The room was big with a comfy bed and bathroom adequate. The food in the hotel was really good and we did a wine tour with the owner which was really enjoyable. The hotel was really old with lots of character and the wine cellar was amazing underneath it!

We had an excellent dinner in the hotel restaurant, staff was great, lots of good food and wine. Our room was great, very comfortable bed, a little noisy from the outside terrace hotel cafe that was right below us, however once the windows were closed it was quite quiet. We did not have breakfast in the hotel, as there were many nice cafes to choose from in the area.
We did not realize we could not drive up to the hotel and drop off our luggage. There was no parking inside the gated town, we had to find parking on the street and walk over the cobblestones with our luggage. Also, finding the hotel was definitely a challenge, as our Google maps kept taking us in circles. However, once we found the hotel and were settled, we were fine. There is not elevator in this hotel, fortunately we were on the first floor.
