The location was perfect, easily accessible by metro and took only 25 minutes from the airport. Right in the middle of Madrid so easy walkable access to the main sites. Room was clean, modern and comfortable. Good air-con and Wi-Fi throughout, including at the rooftop terrace and pool, which was such a bonus to cool off in after a day in the heat. The pool was never too busy and it was always possible to find a sun lounger. The staff were great and were always happy to help. Being able to store luggage on our day of departure was very helpful. Thoroughly recommended and would gladly stay again.

Fantastic location with everything at the hotels doorstep, the room is small but it’s all you need. Staff were very helpful.

Nobody told us about the pool being emptied and we booked specifically for the pool so that was quite frustrating. There was no compensation. Overall though, great stay. Would recommend.

I chose this hotel mainly for city walking, and the location was excellent.

However, the building was older than expected, and the room was quite dark even during the day. The lighting felt gloomy. There were many group guests, so the dining area and elevators were often crowded. The room was clean, but there was a noticeable smell. I was also disappointed that ice was not freely available—only provided at the bar in a small paper cup, and only if I went myself. I’ve never stayed at a hotel where ice wasn’t readily accessible. For me, having cold drinks is important when I’m relaxing, so this was a letdown. The shower was hard to control — I always ended up with a blast of cold water, possibly due to the age of the system. The water pressure was also weak, so washing my hair took longer than usual.

From the moment you step inside this hotel, you know that you are somewhere luxurious. This hotel has everything for a relaxing stay. Exceptionally clean, with towels changed everyday and bed made up. The cleaning team definitely deserve a mention. Plenty of choice at breakfast. This hotel is really well located, right in the middle of theatre district. The highlight of this hotel is the roof pool. Outstanding views. Plenty of sunbeds available. The pool was a welcome addition on a hot day. We celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary in Madrid and the hotel treated us to a bottle of Cava and a handwriten note! What a lovely touch. We loved Hotel Emperador and would definitely come back.

The hotel is beautiful. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooftop pool was amazing. The beds were extremely comfortable, and although the room overlooked the main street, the room was very quiet. Breakfast couldn't have been any better. So much variety. It is in a fabulous location, walking distance to attractions and right on the main shopping strip. If you want to stay in the heart of Madrid, this is a beautiful hotel.

The only disappointment was that there were no english speaking or subtitled tv channels for us to watch after a day of sightseeing. I think for a 4-star hotel that has so many english speaking tourists, this is something they should look at.

We've stayed a few times before and it's a great hotel. The location is amazing, the staff in reception are lovely, helpful and welcoming, the room is a good size, clean and well equipped, and the pool is superb!

The same every year, the pool staff leave a lot to be desired. They don't like you going up to the bar to order, but then don't come around to take orders for ages! They aren't particularly friendly and the prices by the pool are extortionate. This year they had a pool DJ playing one of the days, good music but way too loud (and I like loud music!). Also the double bed in the room was actually 2 singles pushed together and were on runners so move apart and you fall down the middle if you roll over.

Great location right in the heart of Madrid. Pool area was really nice and a lot more beds and options (ie shade, sun, music) than I had expected. Pool bar service was great although could be a bit slow at times.

Air conditioning was hard to control and the room was quite warm although it was an exceptionally warm few days. Drinks at the bar were a bit pricey too compared to other local and roof top bars. Only having three lifts for such a large capacity hotel meant there were often long waits to get service and we often had to take the stairs instead which, whilst good for our health, would not be an option for people with reduced mobility, or when carrying luggage or with small children.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great! Really good selection and good quality,with plenty of healthy options. Room was very comfortable,pleasantly decorated and very good bedding. Terrace was superb,we were able to swim and sunbathe every afternoon after a mornings sightseeing,which was so easy given the location. We were worried the terrace may get too busy high season,but the facilities were more than adequate ensuring everyone a relaxing afternoon and opportunity to cool off. Evening menu was very good,high recommend the Mediterranean salad. All round fabulous hotel and great few days in Madrid.

Nothing,just one minor thing...new little milks for tea tray would have been good each time the room was done.

The breakfast could have a better fare and atleast a change every alternate day. Hot breakfast served should be communicated to guests as there was no communication of that at all. We happened to stumble upon it.

Th front desk staff could have been friendlier and helpful Additionally a very strange incident occurred in our room. Post a shower the vapour in the room created a sign on the bathroom mirror which read ‘HELLO’ in capital letters which spooked the daylight’s out of us as once the vapour vanished so did the sign. Yet get the chills when I think about it.
