Super breakfast with wide range of food and super eggs freshly cooked however wanted. Amazing pool area and views. 3 nights half board saw 3 very different types of meal. One "Spanish" (but did wonder why this was special as it is the Canaries!), one BBQ based, one with several choices. The quiet and peaceful feel of it. Everything so great.

Only thing was our room being hot at the end of March, causing trouble sleeping. But. On departure I expressed that the air-conditioning didn't seem to work well. I was told I should have told reception straight away. They were still in winter mode, so only heating was on, not Aircon. They could have changed it for us. So it was our fault, not theirs really.

The staff are absolutely amazing. It is like staying with good friends. They are obviously very happy working there and take pride in this beautiful hotel. They always take time for a chat. The hotel itself is very lovely. An amazing infinity pool with jacuzzi, everything spotlessly clean. There is also an open fire to sit comfortably around when the evenings get a bit chilly. The food was excellent. Nothing more you could need for the breakfast with friendly Sarah making sure you had everything you needed and even supplying extra cushions for me. Lunch also great and the evening meals were very very good, especially the barbecues of different cuts of meat and lovely fresh fish. Cannot fault it!

I found the double bed too large and not a fan of two beds together to make one. A mattress topper may have helped. The rooms were enormous but the bathrooms out of proportion as they could have been much larger and included a bath tub. I also enjoy hotels with coffee and tea facilities in your room. There was plenty of space to have this but they didn’t.

Lovely location away from it all (ideally you need a car to explore the area.) Room was great with super views. Great relaxed ambiance to the hotel, and staff were lovely and very helpful. Breakfast superb. Evening meals were good, although not outstanding. As it is called 'Royal Retreat' I think we were hoping for an added level of opulence, but no complaints, it was a very enjoyable stay and we will probably return.

We loved the variety of free yoga and breathing sessions, with a special mention for the exceptional (and worth-the-cost) specialized breathing sessions. Activities & Entertainment: Beyond the breathtaking scenery, the hotel offers a games room with pool tables, table tennis, and table football. We also appreciated the free shuttle to explore the charming town of Maspalomas. Friendly Staff: The staff at Casa Leon deserves a special mention. They were universally friendly, helpful, and always spoke excellent English, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable stay. Additional Touches: Small gestures like the complimentary cocktails throughout the day, and the cold meats and cheeses upon our late arrival, added a touch of luxury and were greatly appreciated. Overall: Casa Leon Royal Retreat is an exceptional hotel offering a peaceful and relaxing getaway with a focus on well-being. Despite a few minor areas for improvement, the stunning location, friendly staff, excellent amenities, and high-quality food make this a truly luxurious and unforgettable experience.

Water & Toiletries: While the initial water bottles were a nice touch, it would be ideal if bottled water was included throughout the stay, especially considering the tap water is still. Similarly, automatic replenishment of toiletries in the room would be a welcome improvement. Maintenance Scheduling: Some maintenance work disrupted the tranquil pool area. While the staff addressed the noise after our complaint, it would be best to schedule such tasks during less disruptive times. Restaurant Seating: The restaurant atmosphere could be further enhanced by creating more space between tables for greater privacy during meals. Kitchen closed at 8pm. Far too early! Nowhere warm to sit in the chilly spring evenings. There were heaters and blankets outside but when we went in April it just wasn’t warm enough.

The place is exceptional, magnificent retreat resort with super friendly staff. Enjoy an afternoon drink at the beautiful pool with wihrlpool and view on the mountains and the ocean, and after that have super tasty dinner at the local veranda restaurant. Most valuable is here the staff - I haven't met so friendly and professional hotel staff for ages. Thank you!

The only thing I would improve is the quality of the bed - I always appreciate a good firm mattress providing sufficient support for quality sleep. This was unfortunatelly not the case and together with the mosquitoes in the room (no fan in the room either), the night was not so relaxing as it could be.

Superb hotel. Fantastic service delivered by all the team. Friendly, attentive, nothings too much trouble. We were on first name terms with many of them. Great location. In the hills so very peaceful, with breathtaking mountain and sea views, but within easy reach of Maspalomas and the surrounding areas. Food was excellent. Fresh, tasty and well presented. We enjoyed everything that was served, pretty impressive as we stayed for 9 days. Breakfast was equally enjoyable. The restaurant service was unsurprisingly first class as well. The hotel lays on a range of daily activities, most of which are free. We particularly enjoyed the yoga, and the gym has panoramic sea views. Just a great place for a relaxing holiday in the sun.

Being British we’d have liked tea and coffee making facilities in our room. Other than that given the opportunity we’d have stayed longer.

It was an amazing boutique hotel which made you feel at home from the moment you arrived. Nothing was too much trouble and all the staff were lovely. The rooms were fabulous with breathtaking views and the food was very good too.
