The view was incredible and well worth staying just for that.

Quite old fashioned in some ways and although I liked the fact that the furniture (wardrobes, desk) were of an older style they seemed a bit tired. A little bit of sanding down to remove scratches would have helped here and there and wardrobe doors which closed without a shove would have been in keeping with the rest of the decor which was very good. Reception staff were friendly but one of the waiting staff could not communicate well enough to take an order and had to be rescued by a colleague.

this hotel is amazing!!! it was comfortable, welcoming and clean. i liked that it was both modern and classic. the views are breathtaking and breakfast is delicious. we enjoyed walking to the beach and the city center. the workers at the reception and the employee who brought us something to the room — everyone was very friendly and made us feel at ease.

at breakfast you couldn’t choose a table, the staff chose it for you: i feel like they didn’t clean tables fast enough on purpose, just so they could leave them for someone else. it was not nice.

Very warm welcome. I had sent a note asking for a room with very good sea-view as i was celebrating my mother’s birthday and wanted to surprise her. The room couldn’t have had a better view and they had the thoughtful touch to leave a bottle of cava and a couple of macaroons with a note im the room as a welcome. All staff were warm, helpful and generally very nice.

If i was to pick on something, I think they should have a ranp or similar at the entrance to help passengers with their luggage, otherwise, you have to climb a few steps before reaching the entrance. Not an issue with a small case, but nevertheless…

Grand old hotel set on a hill overlooking the sea. Beaches nearby. We had a beautiful room with superb view over the sea from our balcony. The king size bed was huge and comfortable. The room was bright and had a fair size. Reception was very friendly, welcoming and helpful. The hotel boasts a huge terrace where one can enjoy an evening's drink and snacks. Also, the inner lounge area is beautiful and welcoming. Excellent breakfast, it offered everything you could hope for. We loved this grand old hotel.

Unfortunately, there were other guests with annoying behavior: At breakfast there were guests making loud business calls regardless of other people. Also we witnessed a constantly-on-the-phone-couple whose spoilt kids enjoyed bothering and chasing the fish in the fish pond. Since the hotel can't avoid such guests: Maybe phone calls on loud speakers as well as video calls should be forbidden in the breakfast room and on the terrace.

Amazing views. So peaceful this time of year. The hotel was clean and quite unique. It’s an old historic hotel but renovated well. The original elevator still works and is fun to use. Great location for walking into town. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They speak English and Spanish and they went above and beyond to do something special for us for our engagement. Would love to come back!

We loved this hotel on both occasions we stayed there. From the warm welcome on the front desk to our beautifully clean and comfortable room - it made for a great stay, and it’s ideally situated for anyone wanting to travel further into northern spain, with easy access to the airport and the major roads. Every member of staff we happened across was friendly, polite and extremely helpful, especially Tamara in the lounge bar and Joaquin in the restaurant - they were memorable.

Nothing could improve this perfect place.

This is possibly the best hotel I have stayed in. The facilities were excellent and everything was of high quality. The bedroom had a panoramic view of the sea and mountains. The bed was larger than a king size and was really comfortable. The bathroom was excellent. 2 sinks, a bath and a separate shower unit which had both a rainwater and spray shower unit and, unlike the majority of hotels, the pressure of the water was brilliant, leaving you feeling completely refreshed. The hand soaps, shower gels and conditioners were also luxurious. The cleaning staff made our room spotless and came in at least twice a day. I cannot emphasis enough how wonderful all the staff were from receptionists to the waiting staff. All friendly, professional and personable. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to friends, family and businesses.

The whole ambience of the hotel. The peace and quiet. The staff were polite and the breakfast manager and her staff were so efficient, attentive and went above and beyond to make our holiday special.

When we stayed last year the tea and coffee were replaced daily without any problems. This year on 3 consecutive nights I had to go to the reception to request the tea, coffee and milk.

The breakfast was superb! There was so much choice and everything was very fresh. All of the staff at the hotel were extremely helpful and friendly. All parts of the hotel were very clean and well maintained. I can hardly wait for a return visit!

Exceptionally high quality of construction and finishing, complimented by beautiful furniture. Loved our room and the high quality of the bathroom. Lovely breakfast room, bar and terrace. One nice touch is the old passenger lift that has been maintained; a reminder of times gone by. There is of course a modern lift close by. The grounds are well maintained and the location of the property gives it a special feel, with lovely commanding views over the estuary and coastline.loved our room and the high quality of the bathroom.
