Such a wonderful small hotel- great service and helpful staff!!!! Very clean, new renovations so bathrooms and bedrooms very fresh and tasteful decor. Towels are huge and excellent! Great water pressure and always hot water for a shower! 1 block into the medieval city and 1 block to a laundry mat and butcher. Great breakfast options- locally made cakes/ toast/ fruit/croissants/ excellent coffee machine (has chocolate option). They will make you eggs and bacon (pancetta) for $2 € extra. Highly recommend It is by the main road into Santillana del Mar- so if vehicles bother you bring ear plugs. Not much traffic at night.

Unfortunately a neighbor is demolishing a building so noisy until 8:30pm- not the properties responsibility

We enjoyed the overall stay, the convenience was great—easy to park, great location. Big rooms with nice views and complete silence. The breakfast was nice.

There was a bit of a humid smell in the room, so we needed to open the windows to circulate the air. I didn't appreciate the fact that if you wanted a specific coffee, it was an additional price besides the breakfast that we had already paid (really a minor detail). Also, pillows were quite uncomfortable in my opinion.

A genuine, family-run hotel that made us feel very welcome. The breakfast was amazing (the best scrambled eggs in Spain), fresh meats, fresh fruits and house-made cakes. Both plentiful & delicious. Walking distance to all the old city has to offer, shops, bars and restaurants. Spacious rooms with modern bathrooms. Nothing was any trouble. We would definitely return to this hotel. Thank you for making us feel so welcome.

Next trip I'd like a kettle in the room for midnight cup of tea. 😆 🤣 😂

The room was spacious and clean. Great location with parking and an easy stroll into town. As a bonus, the breakfast buffet was excellent including fresh fruit and freshly cooked eggs and bacon.

No air-con - I'm not normally that bothered but it was particularly hot for the time of year. Luckily, we had two windows we could open in the late evening to get some cooler air through.

On site parking. Very warm welcome by reception staff. The room was basic but in keeping with the traditional decor of the building. The shower room was new and a nice surprise. The breakfast was excellent, fresh and plenty of choice.

We were advised on arrival that the hotel restaurant was not open which was a disappointment. But there are plenty of restaurants in the area.

October 20th-22nd,Stayed 2 nights in room 10 which was small but everything spotlessly clean and thankfully very comfortable beds. Bathroom was tiny with good shower but crazy little glass shelf in it!! If you were to slip and grab it then I’d imagine you’d be seeking medical help! Why glass? The hotel is fabulous with such a nice feel about it and the staff were lovely and very welcoming. Great breakfast too. If there is orange cake on offer it’s delicious you have to try it! Had a really nice stay in this beautiful town that’s got restaurants galore within spitting distance of the hotel . Just one thing that was a little miss leading about the photos you see of the hotel is the parking situation. The neat tarmac car park with marked out bays you see are not part of the hotel it’s for the restaurant next door! The actual hotel car park is at the back of the hotel and it’s not tarmac with a pin code bar type barrier and no obvious evidence of cctv that covers it either! Great little family run hotel and I recommend staying there. BTW it closes today 22October and it’s not open again until a week before Easter 2024!

Friendly welcome and staff. Spacious room and bathroom in colonial style with plafond ventilator. Fantastic location for visiting Santillana del Mar. The hotel has an open-air car park behind the hotel (not to confuse with the car park of the neigbouring hotel where we mistakenly parked first). Great breakfast. Upon arrival the hotel excused itself for the WIFI which was temporarily out of order. However, the repair man just left and the WIFI signal was excellent during our stay!

Nothing to report. We had a very nice stay. Note that the hotel does not have an elevator, the staff offered us to carry our luggage upstairs. Great hospitality.

This is our third stay at this hotel and again excellent !!! perfect location for the ferry crossing from Santander. very handy for the bars & restaurants within walking distance also a very big plus is private parking at no extra cost. The staff are very friendly and helpful nothing is to much trouble for this small but amazing hotel, will book again for next September and will look forward to it.

The Hotel Colonial de Santillana del Mar is in a great location, walking distance to the old town. The staff were friendly and helpful in carrying bags to our rooms. The room was spacious, bed comfy and great to have an overhead fan for the heat. We sat outside at sunset and had drinks. Breakfast was great. Thanks.

The hotel is next to a busy road, so there is road traffic noise at busy times.

The staff at this small hotel are lovely, very welcoming, very helpful and greeting you with a smile. Restaurant/bar was small and intimate. we had dinner at the hotel and it was excellent, and very well priced. Breakfast was very good also, good selection of pastries, bread, yoghurt, ham and scrambled eggs. Cheese also, but I do not like cheese, so left alone!
