This was a really wonderful hotel. It is located on the outer ring of the old town so is at the bottom of the hill. You have to walk up the hill to reach the Cathedral - this is not a negative - just be aware that you will earn your dinner! The breakfast was excellent - great choices and lovely attentive staff. The dining room was closed for dinner for the season. The beds were very comfortable, the pillows were good and the shower was excellent. We were driving a lease vehicle so the undercover parking at the hotel was brilliant. We would definitely stay here again given the opportunity.

Absolutely nothing

We loved this hotel! It's in a good location, the room was cosy and comfortable with perfect air-conditioning. The staff is great, friendly, informative, always available and speaking very good English. The breakfast is served in a very nice salon and is has everything you can ask for (at least for us). And we arrived by car and used the garage for parking which, at the asking price per night, is a very well invested money.

The bed was a bit worn on one side, but nothing very problematic. And it can be a bit difficult to get in and out of the shower if you have mobility issues because of the small space, but we didn't have any problem, it's just for information

We only stayed one night but the hotel was easy to find in a quite location near the river. The reception staff were friendly and it was a good place for us to stay. Had we been there for more nights we might have preferred to stay a little closer to the centre which is about a 20-25 min walk away (uphill!). Having said that the bus stop is right outside and leaves approximately every 30 mins. There is underground parking at the hotel for a fee of 15 Euros which we used as we couldn't see any street parking options. There is access to the riverside walk nearby which was really nice and peaceful and a world away from the busy city (especially in the morning when the tours from Madrid are in town). We didn't bother with breakfast as we needed to get on the road quite early. We enjoyed our stay here.

Being a little out of town there were very few restaurants in the local area but there are plenty only 15 mins away on foot. I thought the parking was a little expensive.

Good and quiet location along the river at 500 m from the historical centre, however uphill. Breakfast is also good and they have a bar.

Parking is a challenge. No space was available in the hotel parking and a private parking with narrow space to be entered along the narrow streets had to be used for 18.90€ per night. Hotel room is good and appropriate but a bit small with many steps even inside the room.

This was a charming hotel! The staff were accommodating and the room was spacious, quiet, clean and comfortable. There was secure luggage storage as well. The hotel was located on an attractive site pretty much overlooking the river.

A kettle in the room would have been appreciated. We did not order the breakfast as we found it somewhat overpriced for what it was, especially compared to other breakfast deals in the city. The location, whilst attractive, is a bit far away from the bus and train stations. Even with the bus, you will end up walking a good distance with your luggage (and it's a hilly city!)

Casona hotel is at the bottom of Toledo next to el Greco's area,it's right next to the river there is a number 12 bus that is right outside that takes you to the centre and round about so if you struggle with hills don't worry as the bus is easy to get. It's a very clean hotel its quiet as your next to the river, with beautiful walks around it, the staff are excellent and very helpful .Very good value for money

There was no aircon in the dining room when eating breakfast so it was a little uncomfortable.

Very friendly and welcoming staff who were always ready to help, in particular with directions around the city. The staff did everything to make my stay very pleasant. The hotel is of modern but sympathetic construction, in keeping with the historic city, and is situated just on the edge of the historic centre of Toledo facing the ravine and River Tagus. Some rooms (mine was one) have lovely views. It is a short walk of 10-15 mins uphill to reach the main sights, which can be tiring in the heat and would be a challenge for anyone with mobility issues. However, I enjoyed the exercise and quickly discovered the fastest and most interesting routes to reach the University. It was also refreshing to leave the confines of the narrow central streets at the end of the day. Air conditioning in the room was very effective. There is a garage with ample parking (for which there is a daily fee) and as the hotel is on a main access road it is an ideal stopping off point for a stay in Toledo for anyone on a car itinerary. You can reach the hotel easily by car, park your vehicle and explore the city on foot. Buffet-style breakfast was €8.50 and ample if not lavish for the price. There were the usual options including cereals, cold meats, cheese, fruit, bread and croissants; and hot options including scrambled egg, ham, bacon and sausage, plus juices, tea, coffee, biscuits and cake. The breakfast room is very pleasant. My double room was a generous size with a comfortable double bed and was very clean. The bathroom was a little 'tired' and could do with a refurb, but in general the facilities (sink and shower) were adequate if not modern. I thought the rate represented good value as I was prepared to pay for a larger room and reliable air conditioning at night. Hotels of a similar standard (3-star) in the middle of the historic centre would probably charge a bit more for smaller rooms. I would certainly return on a future visit to Toledo.

Bathroom was dated and in need of a refurbishment. Not a great option for anyone unable or unprepared to walk uphill over the cobbled streets to reach the central sights.

We stayed three nights, and were glad to enjoy both days and nights in charming Toledo. Wonderful room with refrigerator allowed us to visit the neighborhood market and have a refreshing snack at siesta time. Perfect location along the water. A peaceful 10 minute walk to the center of town in the morning, and back when gloriously lit street lights and spot lights on buildings guide us back. Breakfast room decor is lovely and hot and cold, sweet and savory choices broad and filling. Staff is incredibly helpful and pleasant.

The staff was really nice and helpful. The location is perfect, just in the outskirts of the old town facing the beautiful river view. It is more tranquil there than closer to the centre and it is easy to get there by car. However, you need to climb up to the centre but when you get tired, there is a bus stop on the other side of the street where the bus takes you to the centre of the old town for free!

The breakfast was ok but it would have been great to have more healthy and fresh stuff. There were apples/pears available but mostly the buffet offered ham/bread/sweet pastries.

Beautiful location overlooking the River Tagus and a short walk to the historic old town. Nice room, including a fridge and a really spacious shower room with toiletries and hairdryer. We had a lovely time and would return.

All I would say is to add a note to the description to say that the underground hotel is best suited to small cars!
