The staff and location .can't praise the Chef enough...excellent food all around. The manager was very accomodating and he runs a good ship with excellent staff

We had booked via Booking.com.com for two rooms with sea view and premier rooms. Got neither when we got there to check in. The error was obvious and it was apparent that our rooms were given to others. As consolidation we were offered a free night in a Premier room and dinner..but by then the damage was done. The manager and staff did their utmost to make our stay a memorable one..thanks. Wish the reservation team were better.

Great location, awesome beach with large strip of sand, not crowded. The premium room is really big, great and huge bathroom, perfect terrace with comfy seating overlooking the pool. The pool and the grounds are brilliant. The staff tries really hard to meet the needs of their guest. Great find for the price range

As in most places in Sri Lanka rather slow and inattentive staff at restaurant, no coffee machine in the room, bad juices from a canned powder

Beautiful small hotel with great amenities. The staff are so friendly and the space is so stylish. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and we loved sitting on the private outdoor patio in the mornings with our tea and coffee. The resident manager, Asanga Fernando, goes out of his way to make sure everything is as perfect as possible.

The bed and bath linens were a bit tired and the service in the restaurant is friendly but very very slow and the food always arrived cold. Beach directly in front of the hotel was very rough which was unfortunate.

Beautiful boutique hotel, right on the beach. The staff were all wonderful. Lovely rooms. The food was excellent, I would recommend going half board as there are not many other places around to eat at. The pool is lovely. Great service. We had a lovely stay.

There were a lot of mosquitos and the bathroom was totally open to outside, I felt like I was under seige whilst having a shower. I really would recommend that the hotel undertake regular fogging / pesticide steps to better control the amount of mosquitos.

We were welcomed with popsicles when we arrived. Our room was massive, clean and had all the updated appliances. There was a private patio with a sun bed as well. The staff were incredible welcoming, friendly and helpful. They made the bed everyday, sometimes even twice a day, and they had all the mosquito repellents in the room and even replaced the mosquito lamps, incense and more (although we had no issues in the room probably because of that!). Breakfast selection was amazing and delicious. It was also really fun to watch the train go by in the morning during breakfast. Pool was clean and was really nice to dip in to escape the heat. Super convenient location, just walk across the railway tracks and you’re at the beach. There’s 24 hour security to open the gates for you no matter what time you come back. We started our trip here and it has been so hard to live up to those expectations. It is probably the best hotel we’ve ever stayed in.

Taru Villas was a peaceful hotel- a great place to come and unwind and relax for a few day. The staff were absolutely lovely and the breakfast was amazing. Our room was modern but still felt authentic - you really felt like you were staying in someone’s villa it was so homely. We had a warm welcome and the snacks and drinks around the pool were a lovely touch.

Our room was at the front entrance and near to the nearby temple so we were woken up a few times at 5am, we didn’t mind but be mindful if you have young children 🙂

We had an amazing stay at the Long House. The grounds, pool and hotel are beautiful. The rooms are large, clean and ours had a beautiful outside shower. We decided to go half board, and would thoroughly recommend. The choices were lovely, with a good mix of traditional and Western dishes. The staff are amazing, especially the restaurant staff. We couldn't recommend the Long House anymore!

The only this is it would be really helpful if housekeeping had their own keys, but a minor point!

Absolutely Stunning property, beautiful decorated. Amazing breakfasts ( delicious fluffy pancakes made to order with local treacle, fantastic eggs Benedict & enjoyed the waffles with spicy dressing & eggs! very stunning bedroom with the best bed & private sitting out area. Enjoyed watching the trains go by as the train track literally runs along the end of the garden, before the beach! We had 2 lunches during our stay - delicious prawn curry, Lanka & seared tuna dishes. The service from all the hotel staff was incredible, would thoroughly recommend The Long House if you’re looking for a quite relaxing luxury stay

Lovely bar - shame it only serves wine & beer & no cocktails unlike the fabulous boutique hotels we visited in Galle - think they are missing a trick here - maybe consider happy hour? As it’s a small boutique hotel with only 10 rooms we preferred to eat out in the evening in local restaurants as we’d probably have been the only diners as hotel wasn’t fully occupied so would lack the atmosphere of a restaurant. Also food & drink priced in USD’s so not surprisingly significantly more expensive than local restaurants where we enjoyed local prawn curries & fish dishes

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel! We especially loved the train that passed by every so often, it added a unique charm to our experience. The staff were incredibly friendly, and the pool area was lovely and well-maintained. The food was absolutely delicious, with generous portions that left us more than satisfied. The only downside is that they don’t serve cocktails, but overall, it was a great experience!

We felt very well looked after in this very luxurious and beautiful property. The position of the hotel, style, decor and facilities are all fantastic. Food was absolutely delicious. Staff were very kind and friendly. On our last night we were the only guests, as the hotel was being taken over for a big party the following day. We knew we were hindering them getting the place event ready, but not one member of staff ever made us feel in the way or unwelcome.
