The staff were awesome - happy, friendly and very accommodating. The hotel was in a nice, quiet area just off the main strip. Breakfast was lovely.

It’s a lovely hotel but just needs a bit of a clean and TLC - the pool especially. There were always dead insects in the water and a black ring around the top (just old sun cream and sweat) which stains swimwear. The child’s car seat in our transfer car was broken so we couldn’t use it. Also, the single bed added to the room was in really poor condition - rust falling off it and very uncomfortable.

We travelled here as a group and had 7 of the 10 rooms available. We were a party of 12. My review is based on me doing my homework on the property months before arrival. All in all, we had a FANTASTIC stay with Merete and her wonderful staff, who go out of their way to help you on your stay. Very hard working boys and girl who are always smiling and cheerful and attentive to your needs. Now, if you are looking for 5* luxury, then this is not the place for you. Look elsewhere!! If you are looking for a place that is comfortable, that has attentive staff, rustic accommodation, with a superb stretch of beach and the Indian Ocean 5 steps away…..then book ahead. It’s a bit of paradise on your doorstep. The breakfast on offer is lovely and plentiful. A plate of fruit, followed by eggs done several ways. Sausages, lovely toasted bread with butter and jam or marmalade (we couldn’t decide which it was 🤣). Tea or coffee. More than enough to start your day. Food on offer through the day - a limited menu, but more than enough choice to satisfy needs. You are a TUC TUK ride away from the main centre of Hikkaduwa with the many bars and restaurants. Again, do your homework or ask staff first for recommendations on where to eat. They know the best. With Tuk tuks, haggle on price. We paid on average 300 to 600 LKR (80p to £1.60). Ignore the odd driver who will try ripping you off. So, all in all, the At Ease Hotel (for us) was a wonderful stay. The owner and team will go out of their way to make your stay as best as possible. With us - they succeeded!! Thank you Merete and team for making our week here a magical and lovely one. We take away memories of our stay with you that will last for years. 🇱🇰🇱🇰

I really liked staying at this hotel! It's right by the beach, so I could easily go for a swim and enjoy the waves. The pool was nice and clean(3ft-5.6ft), perfect for a relaxing day under the sun. Overall, a great place for a beach getaway with a cool pool to chill in!

The breakfast was quite basic, and it didn't change for all three days. It would be nice to have more variety. Also, having no Wi-Fi in the room was a bit inconvenient; it would be great if they could add that for guests who need to stay connected.

The hotel is situates on the quiet part of Hikkaduwa beach. It is recently built and has a modern look, big rooms and confortable beds. The staff is amazing, always smiling and ready to assist with any request.

The breakfast could have more options and the a la cart menu would be great to include several traditional dishes. However, the food is tasty and fresh.

Great location right on the beach. It was nice being able to go for a swim in the ocean or float in the pool. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They had a nice restaurant with daily fresh seafood specials and bar. The rooms were clean and tastefully decorated with high ceilings and a cute balcony.

No hot water to shower with for two days.

Its a nice place, room was clean and tidy...Position is great, its not loud and very private. I can recommend to a family.

We came at the end of the season, so some repairs needed...like curtain, stuck sink, restaurant had not much food and the beach was not 100% clean. but nothing big to complain.

Specially miss thilini has done a great job.. So friendly with my kid and she make her happy always.. and she is so supportive active and she always smiles Other staff was also sooo friendly Thanks everyone for making our leisure time a good one.. ❤️

Beautiful design of the whole hotel!!! Wonderful view from the rooms and nice pool. They hand out bottles to avoid plastic, we loved it!

The A/C isn’t placed well, because it blows directly in your face. The rooms could be a little bit cleaner, it was superficially clean but there were a lot of old stains. It would be smart to hire another laundry service company because all textiles have old stains.

The hotel was lovely. Perfect for our family with the pool and directly on the beach. The decor was stylish. The staff were wonderful and so helpful. The family room had 2 big beds so our 3 children could share.

This hotel is great in a quiet area of hikkaduwa. It is a 5 min tuk tuk (500rs) from the main area though if you want more bars and cafes.
