Cosy girls dorm, easy to meet people. Some places around the hostel to sit and relax. Make sure you ask for blankets, towels, soap, extra blankets etc as it's all available. 20 min walk to centre or 30 to bus station. If you walk to the main road, a bus will take you to the bus station for 40 rupees.

Only 2 bathrooms for the hostel so sometimes you have to wait. You need to bring your personal soap (provided) to the bathroom if you want to wash your hands. Lot of ants in the bathroom but it's normal for Sri Lanka.

My stay here was exceptional! The owner and caretaker were helpful and kind from the beginning, willing to chat and answer any questions that I may have had about travelling in Kandy - things to do, buses etc. The location is also great. It is just a short walk to the buses past Kandy Lake, but far enough away that it is peaceful and away from the noise of the city. Also there are amenities nearby like supermarkets, greengrocers, laundromats. I was here for a few days before I went away for the weekend, but I decided to come back the following week. It was an easy choice. Highly recommended!

The nicest and friendliest owner we have met in our 3 months of travelling. They went above and beyond to ensure we had an enjoyable stay and coped very well with issues with the booking system. Room was incredible value for money and we loved seeing the birds and monkeys outside of the window.

The location is a little out of the way and at the top of a steep hill. At night the neighbouring streets are very dark and felt a little unsafe so we’d recommend getting a tuk tuk to the property rather than walking.

what a sweet and chill place!  this place had all i need... good area to chill, enough place for yoga and a small nice garden and not to forget the best people are working here! They're doing all to make your stay the best! Had some really nice evenings and conversations with them and met also other nice travellers! further more it's in a nice quite area and the walk to the town you will have near to the lake is just beautiful. i hope i'll come again one day.

Nihal, the owner, took care of me right from my arrival till I left the property. Upon arrival, he greeted me warmly and offered me a pot of coffee. We then talked for several minutes like we were old friends who’ve just reunited! The next day, when it was time for me to leave, he talked to my ride to make sure I arrive at the train station on time. He also helped me carry my luggage. Nihal is such a great person! The property itself is located on a hill with a nice view of the other hill surrounding the Kandy Lake. I really liked the vibe of the property - it is serene and green. It is also just a 20 min walk to the Temple of the Tooth Relic! While others here lamented about the fact that it’s a 20 min walk, I on the other hand enjoyed the walk around the lake. At night, I just took the cab back to the property and it costed only US$1. The room is also big and the bathroom is clean. Hot water is also working.

Generally it’s a nice stay experience in Kandy. The owners are really helpful and welcoming. The lady smiles all the time and tried best to help when I arrived Kandy and it was raining. The room and toilet is well cleaned. Facilities are well maintained.

I arrived in 8pm and it’s not visible. But the gate is opened so I entered directly without difficulties. It’s much better to arrive in daytime if you’re booking this hostel, it’s up in the hill and it’s a bit hard to walk at night time.

Wauw, this place is something else! I have traveled for a long time now and this is the first place which felt like my real home. The host is giving you the best time and really cares for you. If you want to escape the hectic Kandy and come to peace, this is your place. I came back to this place for three times already and the new booking is made! Thank you Nihal for taking care of me and your excellent hospitality! You’re something else!!!!! Luckily it was not a goodbye, but a see you soon!

My friend and I stayed here for 3 nights. We stayed at the Lazy bear Ella previous to this. We adore Nihal and all that work for Lazy bear. He is so kind and caring and really looks after his guests. I even left my purse out and they found it and kept it safe for me. They are honest, hard working, good people. The room itself was great, basic but has all you need! Kandy is a great bustling city and the hostel sits just a little walk away, it’s quiet and peaceful and I spotted a few beautiful birds flying around!! 100% would recommend and stay again.
