The place is just amazing clean near to the airport and most important the staff. The staff is just amazing and very helpful

We stayed here after our long flight to recover. The hotel is central to Negombo, was easy to find it by tuktuk. The personal is very friendly and welcoming, the room was very spacious, and basic amenities were there - like kettle, coffee, tea, hair dryer, toiletry and A/C. Room was very clean and the bed was okay to sleep on. Breakfast was delicious. The location is actually quiet nice, next to a little river, the only thing is that it can get a little louder early in the morning when boats pass by. We'd stay again if we should come to Negombo for sure.

For the price there is nothing really to complain about - great after a long flight to catch some breath.

Well run hotel with helpful staff. Liked that balcony had seating and you could watch life and activity on the canal below. Bottled water provided in room. Attractive on-site restaurant with canal views and reasonable prices. Good quality food....had the most tender and best cooked steak, I have ever eaten! Felt safe as lone female traveller. Took their lagoon trip. Told 12,000 before I arrived, but 10,000 when asked at desk. Convenient as boat is moored outside. Arranged an airport taxi for 3,000. Convenient for airport.

Staff were good & polite & helpful. Room was ok for the price. Shower ok & some toiletries were given. We asked for an extra blanket and the staff member brought it up immediately. Breakfast was ok. Not a huge choice but just enough. Ok for 1 night

Balcony was small & overlooking a lake but view wasn’t very good and there was a smell coming from lake so couldn’t sit outside for long. Kettle & tea making facilities in room but no socket for kettle so it had to be plugged in next to the bed. Not much space to put anything on, or chairs or anything to sit on

Functional little hotel, clean sheets and room, decent Wifi and air-conditioning unit for the main space in the room. Good reception service and restaurant right next door if you want room service. Staff were kind enough to bring our bags up to the room and show us around the room including how to make sure the hot water ran normally in the shower.

Not a 3 star hotel, we had booked canal view but it was almost impossible to see the canal from our window/balcony. There was a gap in the balcony door and a vent that couldn't close in the bathroom making it higher risks for mosquitos to come into the room and it made it difficult to keep the aircon at a manageable level. And one of the towels had a massive hole in it. There was no bedside table on one side and the TV barely worked. Needs a bit of an update I think.

Staff were excellent, couldn't be faulted. Rooms were great, very smart, clean and well appointed, excellent AC. I had a couple of meals and drinks in the restaurant, which were really good in terms of quality and prices. Location a bit quirky, its not a tourist area but seemed safe enough. You have a mini market/ bakers a couple of minutes walk away plus the lagoon where you can get boat trips. You overlook the canal and have a great view of the very impressive St Marys Church which is well worth a look around. There is a large shopping area close by but it seems mainly to be jewellery outlets.

Sound insulation could have been a better, you get a surprising amount of noise from boats passing on the canal at surprising times in the night (unless I was dreaming). I could hear adjacent guests in their rooms. However, its not like there are nightclubs or pubs turning out nearby. WIFI seemed a bit hesitant on my floor, was fine in the lobby/ restaurant area.

Really happy i chose this place! The best thing about the place is the people working here - definitely recommend. To list - helpful, accommodating and overall just nice personnel, very tasty food, great facilities (internet on every floor, restaurant and bar in the hotel, boat, security cams, elevator..), well equipped rooms with all necessities eg hairdryer, kettle, desk, a/c.. Honestly i was happy with everything, amazing value for money. Just bring a mosquito repellent for the night :)

Hotel overlooks the canal in the old quarter and is ideally placed for the international airport. The room was spacious, quiet and with a balcony. It was clean with a small but adequate bathroom and came with tea & coffee making facilities. The Wifi in the room could have been stronger but was ok downstairs. Breakfast was simple but sufficient and the restaurant is open late for a beer. The staff and management are very good. Late in the evening, the restaurant manager noted that we wanted to rent bicycles but although new, they were both men’s frames. He immediately requested a new model with a ladies frame which was delivered after breakfast the next morning. The hotel manager is also very good and organised Tuk Tuk transport to the airport at 5:00am, an early wake-up call and small packed breakfast. He was always available to provide advice and guidance and printed our check-in documents as required.

Breakfast great, staff wonderful, room great. No complaints they arranged boat trip for us, taxi to airport, and held bags forus so we didn't have to drag them all around on the train and buses, I cannot remember the gentleman who is normally in the office but he was wonderful. Rang and confirmed next hotel had received our train tickets for us (as they hadn't bothered to contact us). At breakfast they even brought out more red papaya just for me because they knew how much I loved it.Walking distance to town and church an attractions etc.

Our only complaint was the bed, it is too soft. This is probably not a fault rather then a choice, as we like hard beds.

Hive 68 is well located on a quiet road in the centre of old Negombo overlooking the canal and church. It's a short drive from the airport and a short tuk-tuk ride to Negombo beach. The rooms were comfortable with good A/C. The staff were friendly and helpful organising a taxi to the airport for us.

The breakfasts were disappointing with limited Sri Lankan food on offer. The evening meal was tasty but more expensive than we paid in other places.
