150/10 would recommend. The room we stayed in was really pretty, it had everything we needed and even when we asked for something extra, reception crew provided everything immediately. We loved the pool and the area around it and enjoyed it every day, the crew gave us towels and brought our cocktails to us there. Everything is open space and that's amazing, breakfast and dinner are super tasty (pumpkin soup was the best ever), but the best part is the working crew there. The main lady hostess is wonderful, we loved her, she's so sweet and was always there for us for what ever we needed and asked. Everyone we interacted with was so nice, always with a smile, it's all about the little details and they were so attentive and made us feel so welcome. We already told all of our friends about this place and will again recommend it if any of them ever come to Sri Lanka. To the owner lady, your crew is amazing and your resort is beautiful. To the crew, thank you again for everything, we had the best time. To the lady hostess, we love you :)

The room was spacious, and clean and offered plenty of comfort for a relaxing stay. The air conditioning was powerful, which I appreciated in the heat. it kept the room perfectly cool and comfortable the whole time. The food was beautiful. Each dish had heaps of flavour and was nicely presented. What stood out to Me was the staffs attentiveness..they took the time to explain every item on the menu, including the ingredients and the traditional way of eating each dish. Their passion and care enhanced the dining experience and made every meal feel more special. The menu itself had a great balance between authentic Sri Lankan cuisine and more familiar Italian and Western-style options. This variety is perfect for those who want to experience local flavors while still having the comfort of dishes if you miss home. The location was ideal. tucked away, yet conveniently close to major attractions. Sigiriya Rock is just a short drive away, and Dambulla is only about 15 minutes by car, making it a great base for exploring the area.

This place is absolutely amazing! Perfectly located, with stunning grounds that offer a true haven for relaxation. The staff embody everything I love about this country—genuinely generous, kind, and warm-hearted. Harris, Sahan, Thilina, and the rest of the team (whose names I didn’t catch!) were especially wonderful—after just two nights, it felt like staying with family. A special thanks to the lovely lady at reception who organized our elephant safari at Hurulu Eco Park the night before. It was an early 6:30am trip, very well priced, and we saw plenty of elephants and other wildlife, just as promised. The food is excellent, offering a great mix of authentic local dishes and European options. The rooms are beautiful, spotless, and have stunning views of the pool. Highly recommend - wish we could’ve stayed longer!

Excellent large rooms , great pool ( but see comment below re chlorine), lovely staff, Excellent service around pool with top notch drinks, owners are very visible and very keen to ensure you have a good stay , Excellent Sri Lankan welcome, very helpful in arranging our transfer too , would recommend as a great all round resort

Chlorine levels in pool need looking at , children developed a rash .After experiencing the buffet the first evening we didn't eat in the hotel of an evening again as it was very poor, however our lunch time meals were good particularly the pasta and we had great coffee. Other evenings had a different buffet which appeared more authentic. Breakfast buffet needs a cover for items rather than being left exposed.

The staff was very kind and welcoming - they solved all the little issues we encountered right away. The room was super clean and no insects at all. Very nice pool where you can relax and chill. The owner is very kind and helpful, and it really makes the difference! Last but not least, the hotel is 10 mins tuk tuk ride from Sigiriya, so very convenient if you want to visit the rock.

Breakfast was a bit poor, not much choice (1 type of jam, 1 type of bread, etc). In the breakfast area there were a lot of little tiny bugs. Nothing scary but with the food around it is not great. The pool could use some maintenance (some tiles are missing), but overall it is super nice!

The room is super big and clean and the personal is very nice. The food for lunch/dinner at the restaurant is amazing and for a very fair price. We even saw groups of people coming to the hotel just to eat. The swimming pool area is very beautiful. The personal organized a Tuktuk for us to go on pur excursions.

The location is a bit far away from Sigiriya, but it can be easily reached by TukTuk. The breakfast could improve. You can hear many noises from the room.

The staff were amazing ..the food was great and the owner was super helpful in sourcing gluten free options for my sister. Roshan the owner was brilliant, helped us with anything and everything we required. Would highly recommend to anyone that is thinking of visiting lions rock, as it is well located about 10 mins away from this. We loved our stay .

It was a very quiet place, which we loved. They employ nice staff, who understand their job. Very nice owners as well. Great calamari, fantastic spaghetti bolognese, food was very good, including breakfast. We enjoyed the pool a lot. Great big rooms, I would only change curtains to grey to make it look more elegant. Good water pressure in the bathroom, AC working perfectly.

Some big concrete pots with green plants to brighten up the place would be a great asset, and a bit of maintenance outside wouldn't do any harm, like a nice footpaths, gate etc. I would love duvets on the bed as an option, but it's because I love duvets.

About 5km from Sigiriya - not too far and not too close. Well ventilated buildings and good AC. Lots of trees for shading too. We requested thick blankets, which I assumed must be an unusual request for a tropical place like this. But they did their best to find us some. Very quiet at night and the beds are very comfy - our light-sleepers slept very well. Buffet lunch is pretty good; they also allowed us late checkout after lunch free of charge, which is greatly appreciated.

Overall, nothing major. The floor in our room was stone, and the small carpets didn't have much grip to the floor. This is a slipping hazard, so we ended up putting them away. The pool's water quality could be improved. It tasted acidic when some got into my mouth. We hit a small snag while printing a receipt. Their computer system cannot address the receipt to anyone other than the person who made the booking. Manager did the best he could though.

We really enjoyed our stay at Lario. We were warmly greeted by the owners, Rita and Roshan, and the super friendly staff. They helped us book a tuk tuk for an early visit to Sigyria. Our room was big and nicely decorated. A/C worked well. And you can pay your stay by card! 100% recommended!

Wifi was not working properly in our room, as it was far from the reception (but it did not bother us).
