Staying at Atha Resort was nothing short of perfection. Our suite was absolutely stunning – spacious, elegant and surrounded by tranquil greenery that made it feel like a private retreat. Every detail was thoughtfully designed for comfort and relaxation. The staff truly made the experience unforgettable. Warm, attentive and genuinely welcoming they went above and beyond to make us feel at home from the moment we arrived. It’s rare to find service that feels so personal. If you’re looking for peaceful luxury with heartwarming and hospitality Atha Resort is a must. We’d return in a heartbeat.

We absolutely loved our stay at Atha Resort ♥️ All the staff here are beautiful, always smiling and nothing was ever a problem. Ishan was extremely helpful with suggestions and booking drivers for day trips and to see all the local attractions. Ravidu was also lovely to chat with at meal times and carefully explained all the dishes on the menu. The rooms were spacious, comfortable and exceptionally clean. In fact the entire resort was spotless and beautifully maintained. The food was next level and easily the best we’ve eaten in Sri Lanka. If you’re staying in Sigirya, I highly recommend staying here. Everything was perfect !!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

There was nothing to dislike

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had an exceptional 2-night stay at Atha Resort — a true hidden gem! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel completely at home with their warm hospitality and attention to detail. The rooms were spacious, beautifully designed, and spotlessly clean, with thoughtful touches throughout. Our private pool area was pure bliss — peaceful, private, and surrounded by nature. We also loved the delicious meals, especially the local dishes packed with flavour and freshness. It was the perfect base to explore Sigiriya and unwind in comfort after a day of adventure. Atha Resort exceeded all our expectations. We only wish we had stayed longer!

Breakfast was amazing- given both a Sri Lankan breakfast each morning with explanation and a western breakfast- kept us going all day. Rooms of generous size, clean and staff extremely helpful. We ate at the restaurant each night also and the food was fine. The pool area is lovely, and the pool is exceptionally clean.

We initially had a room with people above -was quite noisy with others stomping around till late, so we asked to move, and they made it happen very quickly. We moved to a room without a second floor which was fine. The air conditioning in both rooms was noisy and variable and the fan noisy in room 2, so both rooms could be hot for sleeping. It also would be useful to have somewhere to hang things that was full length. This is really nitpicking as it is a lovely resort.

Everything was great. From arrival into the beautiful green setting, we felt welcome and looked after. The grounds are stunning, with little walkways between the huts, with lily pad ponds and an abundance of trees and interesting birds. The pool area is big enough for all guests, as people come and go, and the pool is big too. We stayed in the suite on the end with the plunge pool (number 25), which backs onto a small farm. A small pony roamed the area and came up to our balcony a couple of times which was a welcomed surprise. The room in itself was spacious, the mattress very comfortable and the linen soft and fresh. The room also had a dressing room, with plenty of storage which connected the spacious bathroom, with a very powerful and again; large shower. The service is something I would particularly like to note. Ishan, the general manager, gave us a warm service from arrival to departure. He was very attentive and helped with any queries we had, from ordering a tuk tuk to take us to places, to the best time to arrive at Sigiriya Rock to avoid the crowds (5am, for those who wish to see sunrise, 6am for those who want a cooler hike avoiding the crowds), he even arranged a light breakfast for us to take with us and always checked in with us and the other guests at breakfast and dinner to ensure we were comfortable. The restaurant was excellent, notably we ordered the Sri Lankan platter for dinner two nights, which was a mix of vegetarian curries, sambals and chutneys (different each night), with a plentiful portion of rice. In the mornings, the breakfast was excellent. We were served a Sri Lankan tea or congee, with a fresh fruit platter. Then a board of western and Sri Lankan food.

Atha resort is well located, close to Lion Rock and out of the hustle and bustle of town. All of the staff (reception, restaurant, cleaners and grounds men)were fabulous, very friendly, thoughtful and helpful. The pool is lovely and the breakfast was very good. You begin with a Sri Lankan porridge, then fruit and juice, omelette, breads and pastries AND then Sri Lankan dishes! It was a very generous meal. The grounds are very well maintained and everything is very clean. Air conditioning is good.

I found the bathroom and luggage/ wardrobe area very dark. The rooms are not very soundproof, but luckily we didn’t have noisy neighbours.

A truly exceptional stay!! The whole resort was a paradise, every single staff member was lovely, the manager was so helpful and obviously passionate about his work, the room was GORGEOUS and super super clean (and the Aircon was lovely and cool)! The view from our room was stunning and we spotted so many different animals from our balcony. The food is also INCREDIBLE!! The manager was very helpful in organizing transport for us, and we loved Atha driver Dammika - he's a true local with a wealth of local knowledge and makes you feel like a friend! He loves a side quest (just say no if he offers to take you to the spice garden!) but always ensures you get to your destination on time. This was our first time in Sri Lanka and Sigiriya was an exceptional start to our honeymoon! We are already dreaming of returning to Atha Resort in the future! 😍

Absolutely nothing to dislike about this place!!

We had a wonderful stay! Probably our favorite hotel in Sri Lanka! The room was very spacious (more like a small villa than a room!), clean and functional. The deck with the small pool was perfect to relax in between the activities in the surroundings. But the best thing was being immersed in the nature - day and night, the only sound was the bird chirping; just perfect. The staff is very friendly, welcoming and available. The breakfast and dinner were good; book the rice and curry a couple of hours before to eat tasty local food! The hotel also arranged a safari to see the elephants in a natural reserve which was okay, but comparing to the one we did in Yala it was less respectful of the animals so I would double check before it the meet the ethical standards.

We absolutely loved this place and it set the bar high for the rest of our trip! A little oasis in Sigiriya, with very comfortable and clean rooms, amazing staff and breakfast. From the moment you arrive everyone makes you feel welcomed, friendly and with excellent service. Breakfast, the best we had in Sri Lanka, a mix of continental with a platter of local dishes that gets changed everyday and the team takes time to explain every dish and how you eat it. The driver, Dammika, you are the best! He took us around for 2 days, helped us organise our days. So enthusiastic and going above and beyond to make us try tea, corn and spotting wild elephants by the road! The hotel is a short drive from main attractions (you normally don’t walk anywhere in this town)

We loved this resort with a beatiful farm and lovely trees. The room was comfortable with a balcony overlooking the farm. The staff were warm and welcoming and made our stay very comfortable. The onsite restaurant served amazing spread of breakfast . The food in general was delicious. There is a ayurvedic spa place close to this restaurant which was a cherry on the cake. We loved our stay in atha and would highly recommend this to all.
