The hotel is a short walk from the train station and conveniently located in the town. We had a corner room (apartment) with amazing views out of the back and the side of our room. We loved having two separate bedrooms with a door between them. Beds were comfortable and cozy, breakfast was very good, and the room was clean. We did swim in the pool one afternoon. I suspect that the pool is not heated because it was quite cold which might feel nice on a hot day but was too cold the day we were in it.

It would be nice to have a small refrigerator in the room. Also, there was a landline phone in the room but it didn't work. We didn't plan to use it but why have it there if it doesn't work?

The location of the property is great, very close to the train station and also close to where some nice hikes start. The hotel is surrounded by mountains and no matter in which room you end up you will have an awesome view from the window. The breakfast is very good and certainly exceeded our expectations with limited options but definately high quality foods.

The rooms are a bit dated, there was no minibar / small fridge in the room, the pillows were very uncomfortable

The location was perfect for our plans for exploring Kandersteg, it was a leisurely 30min walk to the Scout Centre and a 15min walk to the cable car. Breakfast could not be faulted and had everything and more that we would expect, view were fantastic. The family room was ideal and made a big difference to not all being in the same room, the balcony and view was lovely. Lovely swimming pool, nothing special but was a big plus for us. Parking was easy and no hassle with leaving the car there after we checked out

That's a difficult question as to be honest we did not have any problems during our stay.

The location is great, very close to the gondola station and the centre of the village. Parking available very close at a reasonable rate(for Switzerland). Very spacious suite (1 adult room and 1 kids room). Great bathroom, with Swiss water pressure in the shower and a shower gel dispenser. More towels than you could ever use. Nice generous breakfast included. Polite and helpful staff. Also, there's an indoor pool.

The shower takes a while to warm up, but get under it when it's lukewarm and it will be hot soon enough.

This one literally one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in! Even the "fancy" hotels I've stayed in paled in comparison. The sauna/physiotherm/cold plunge/shower area was incredible! I can't believe they have all of that in the hotel, PLUS the incredible pool with the amazing view of the mountains. Also the breakfast was incredible. Seriously could not recommend this hotel more.

The ONLY thing that I can think of adding (and this is not even a critique but rather a suggestion) is a guest fridge and microwave. Not even in every room but maybe somewhere in the kitchen area in case you have restaurant leftovers.

I absolutely love the old world charm of this hotel, you get the sense it has really hosted some amazing things in its time. The staff couldn’t help more & the facilities were faultless. We swam as a family every day & even the dog was welcomed. My daughter was sick for a couple of days & the cleaning lady was really kind and swapped over a couple of towels & her duvet for fresh ones, whilst being incredibly sympathetic. Not cheap but definitely a lovely spot for a few days. The breakfast buffet also catered fairly well well for the 2 coeliacs in my family, for both cooked food & cereals. The lift to Oeschinensea lake is approximately a 10 min walk from the hotel also.

It can be a little tired around the edges, but it’s not really something that would bother me personally.

An excellent location. Near to station, bus stop outside hotel, within walking distance of gondola station to Oeschinensee. Our room was in the older part of the hotel- very Swiss with original features and decoration- full of character. A fantastic, spacious balcony overlooking part of the town and views up to the mountains with the sounds of the gently cascading river. The room was reasonably large with comfortable beds and plenty of storage space. Wonderful ornate public spaces with grand dining room where we ate an excellent breakfast with a wide choice. We also used the indoor swimming pool a couple of times which was a real bonus and a bathrobe/swimming towel were provided in the room. This hotel has a real feel of "The Grand Tour!"

Being picky- We would have liked a kettle instead of a coffee machine and a couple of proper cups rather than paper ones so we could make a proper cup of tea.

Shower very weak Hotel bar was busy on evening we were there- we had been sitting at the actual bar and moved to a vacant sofa at the back. My 12 year old daughter was then confronted in the toilets by a member of staff (British lady) who had been drinking at the bar herself as to her family hadn’t paid their bill. She pressed my daughter for her room number and family name. Had she had just asked my daughter where her parents were, this would have been much better than making a shy 12 year old feel quite embarrassed and awkward.

The hotel location is very great, 5mins walk from the station. If you arrive after 9pm, the staff will provide instruction on getting the keys and the access. The room was great and clean. The breakfast was great and the service of the front desk was very great.

The room had no a/c and we can't turn on the heater so it was a little bit cold. Also, the room only provided a small bin inside the bathroom so you may have a issue on handling the rubbish.
