One of the greatest 3stars I stayed in (it gave us a 5star feel). Everything is well thought out. The interior design is modern, cozy and exceptionally functional. It’s like staying at one of the Marriott-Moxy hotels with lower budget and much greater value. The staff was wonderful, and Wayne specifically, was very helpful to us.

The area while it’s completely safe, it’s not a posh area per se. On the flip side, the location is very convenient to use public transportation, and if you like local street food, it’s plenty around.

We had a wonderful stay at Olah Poshtel. Really close to Taichung station and many other attractions and good restaurants. We got the quadruple room for 3 persons, and it was very spacious and comfortable. The whimsical touches of the bunk bed and the moon shaped seat really set the room apart! The laundry room was also great for longer stays, or if you need to wash sweaty hiking clothes like we did. Breakfast was serviceable, but I really liked the library area just above the breakfast space. Overall I would definitely stay here again the next time I'm in Taichung!

Room cleanliness could be improved, we found an old mentos and an empty hand sanitiser packet in two of the pockets on the headboard lol.

The location is close to the main station, so it's fairly easy to get around. Bed space was spacious and felt private. It felt like you have your own room! Bathroom area was clean, shower has wet and dry area. Not only they included breakfast with the stay, they also have noodle time every night.

The only downside is they don't have elevator for the dorm room so it was a bit hard with luggage. I also found that the door wouldn't close all the way unless you close it properly. People sometimes didn't notice this, and it was a bit concern with security.

Since the hotel is relatively new, everything was nice and clean. The room design is very pleasing to the eyes. Bed was comfortable. There was sufficient space for two luggages to be fully opened (stayed in the superior twin room). I also liked that it was a relatively short walk to Taichung railway station and also the bus stop for bus to Sun Moon Lake.

Not a deal breaker but if you need slippers, you’d need to join as a member to get a reusable one or purchase them. If you do not want to do either, do bring your own 🙂

Breakfast was good - salad, appetiser, bread, 2 mains and 3 sides options which changed daily. Breakfast area and social space / reading area at basement 2 is well decorated and comfortable. Liked the laundry room with separate washer and dryer (pay per use). 10pm free supper instant noodles is popular, though I'm normally too full for it. Loved the popcorn at reception. It's good they have toilets, cafe and locker storage at ground floor, makes it really convenient. Room size is comfy and the stained glass for the toilets is a nice touch.

Floor and wall sound insulation could be better. It's easy to hear neighbours beside, along the hallways and footsteps from above. Some parts of the room were dusty, did not really bother us.

The location is very convenient. There are so many stores, restaurants nearby and it takes only 6’ to Train station on foot. There’s laundry room, shared room for gatherings or noodle times. Especially, pop corn is available near the reception area. My child loves it. Breakfast is not special but has some basic foods (croissants, jam, porridge and salad). Bar drink is available all day. This hotel is valued for the price.

There’s a bad smell in WC. Even though it’s mild, it’s a bit dissatisfying.

Our room design is very modern and my son loves the stylish bunker bed and the bean bed underneath in our quadruple room. Bed is so comfy. Room so spacious. My son particularly loves the free noodle area after 10 pm. It’s a nice surprise! The Chinese book library or attic is so cool and fancy. Staff are friendly. All 3 of us love this hotel. So chill.

Breakfast - noodles / pasta ran out as we arrive late at 930. But good to be environmental friendly and not waste too much food.

Staffs are friendly and ready to provide any information when requested. The room size and bed size is very reasonable. How family room designed will be interesting for young children. Walking distance to tai Chung train station. Bonus is the daily night supper of instant noodles.

There is only 1 washer and 1 dryer which will be challenging esp when it is holiday season.: not very near to Feng jia night market . You will need to take a cab to reach the location

Breakfast was basic but delicious and varies day to day. Bonus is the nightly snacks of instant noodles, available for self cooking, with many variety/types. The lounge area was availble for use anytime, with free coffee and tea. The area was also very nicely done. The location was excellent with good connectivity to attractions.

The room was a little cramped. The beds were on the floor, so getting up in morning is a little tough. There was a lack of table for normal activities.

Clean bed and toilet without odour. Toilet had a dry section separated from the shower in each cubicle so could keep clothes and shower stuff clean and dry. Shampoo, conditioner and shower gel provided. Toilet doors well insulated so late showers didn’t bother me (I slept in a bed pretty close to the toilet). Beddings were very comfortable, but pillow was a little flat and they couldn’t provide an extra. Small alcove available at each bed, with a locked area big enough to fit my laptop, charger, wallet and other valuables. I dumped my three day bags on top when I return to the hostel. Beside the alcove is a desk where I left all my skincare, makeup and other stuff accumulated through the day. The desk is setup such that you can sit on the edge of your bed and fit your legs under. Also had a wardrobe big enough to fit my 28” luggage inside, and two hangers. Just a note that you have to climb one level of stairs down or up with luggage to enter the room, so be prepared. Water cooler available outside room with cold, room and boiling temperatures. Also they had buffet breakfast and cup ramen supper nightly. Very close to final bus stop if you take an intercity bus from Taoyuan airport.

Would be great if extra pillow could be provided. Placement of wardrobe is a little awkward as when doors are open, it blocks another guest from leaving or entering her bed, but this is easily resolved if everyone exercise a little consideration. Also the curtains on the bed have a somewhat see-through band at standing head level and at knee level, so don’t expect full privacy with drawn curtains.
