The location of hotel was really good. The hotel itself is dated but very clean and comfortable. The bedrooms are a good size and very comfortable. The cleaners do a wonderful job, each day your bedding and towels are changed and the rooms kept so clean. In fact the whole hotel is kept to this standard. We arrived for 12 days from the UK to visit Tainan and this hotel helped make our stay a great holiday. Don't expect a fancy upmarket modern hotel but what this offers you is a service that you rarely find nowadays anywhere. As a family we would recommend this hotel to anyone for all it offers in Tainan. A bonus is also the laundry facilities on floor 12 for guests to use (two washing machines and two driers). The hotel offers a free breakfast and afternoon snacks (Asian food). Your choice of eating places on this street and surrounding area is vast. Loved it all. We would stay here again if we were ever to return.

This hotel doesn't have a room safe. If you need to use a safe you need to use the one behind reception which really will only hold your passport and any small items. We did use this for only our passports. My only issue was that the hotel needs to put proper electric kettles into the bedrooms as the current ones are old and don't work very well. There is a water cooler/hot water on each floor but for people who like to use boiling water for hot drinks it doesn't do the job. I struggled with the kettle in the room.

The hotel location is easily accessed to public transport and has many eateries/ restaurants nearby. The rooms are spacious. Free snacks and drinks at the breakfast venue from 1pm to 5pm. There is also self service laundry but need to pay with coins. And also can rent the hotel's free bicycle but need to pay a deposit first. Lobby front desk staffs are very helpful in guilding us nearby attraction places.

Actually the hotel is quite old and a little dated but it has been renovated. There is no in-room safebox. The breakfast is mainly Asian style breakfast.

Clean, spacious and comfortable, the room had everything we needed and the location was good - 15 min walk from the train station, bus stop over the road and a number of restaurants nearby.

The breakfast was disappointing. For Asians it had a good variety of the usual dishes (which we would consider for lunch or dinner, not breakfast). No pastries, little fruit, just toast.

The staff is very friendly and answered all our questions. The hotel has some free bicycles that we used for 1 day, which was very convenient. The room was big and we had a good sleep in the beds. Because of a typhoon we stayed in the hotel a lot for 1 day and that was comfortable. Also the breakfast was very nice!

Our noses got stuffed when we were in the bed and we found dust around the bed and windows. That's the only thing we didn't like.

The staff was super courteous. I had forgotten to collect my passport given at checkin and had 2 staff members remind the checkin counter to return it to us when we got back after a walk. We were able to checkin before 3 and hence could go around at leisure. We had a road facing room but did not have any disturbance from traffic during the day or night. Busses stop right outside the hotel and one can take a ride to the night markets from here. Bus frequencies tend to think down in the night so plan your trips accordingly. The town eats and sleeps early. The town has some fantastic architecture but will need quite some walk to get to. Evenings were super pleasant and we had a great time walking around on the 2nd day as we were not visiting the night market.

The hotel is a good 10-15 min cab ride from the train station. This is a pretty sleepy town so do not expect anything to be open late evening. Hotel is on the main road so there is vehicular traffic. Breakfast is a simple affair with just 1 fruit, bread and a few spreads, poached eggs, cornflakes, some boiled veggies and a lot of traditional food. There are very few large eateries and convenience stores around. We found an English speaking elderly gentleman a min from the hotel who helped with our lunch.

On the last day we checked out early and leave the luggage for 2 hours in order to walk around the city... when we came back me and my wife walk directly to the lobby's toilet. One of the male employee run after my wife and knocking the toilet's door with angry mood like we are outsider. I have to stop using the restroom in order to get out asking him why is so rude? He did not answer anything just walk back to the lobby area when they have company (kinda) meeting...

Absolutely great value. Perhaps the best value of any hotel I’ve stayed in. Right in the centre of the city. Fabulous staff. I forgot my laptop and they were very quick to inform me! Plenty of facilities and they sell cushions, sunglasses, and even the shower gel used in the hotel. Good breakfast included as well as afternoon staff. I found all the staff friendly and helpful, be that reception staff, catering staff or cleaning staff. I’d love to visit again!

Not much really.

Great location. Staff super helpful, friendly and good to ask for recommendations. Professional. Great buffet breakfast in the morning. The room was larger than we expected but we were given a corner room. The bed is big but hard. Given more than two pillows which was nice. Clean and tidy room and bathroom. Clean shower/bath situation - impressed with that. Such a good price for what you get and location. Within walking distance of the night time lantern street, lots of bubble tea and some of the temples/forts. Tv was large too. Quiet at night and in the morning.

Hard beds.

Service is great. The breakfast area is open in the afternoons and guests are allowed to help themselves to the tea, coffee and ice cream on top of a few snack items. The cleaning service is also thorough even though the rooms are quite dated. The location is also excellent, close to many important Tainan spots and places to visit.

The Front office staff: Messrs. Huang Fang Yi & Tsai Jen Ping provided excellent service. They are able to anticipate what has to be done b4 we need to request. We are travelling in Taiwan for 30days & are pleasantly surprised by their hospitality as compared to other Hotels we have stayed. Keep up the good work Sirs, both of you made Cambridge Hotel proud!!
