Lots of character, quite rustic as not a brand new place. Not quite value for money but definitely value for location and awesome staff who help with everything and anything! Set on the rocks right next to the ocean. Upgraded me to a water front bungalow as was quiet. No one on the beach - bit of a hidden gem. Boat can take you straight to this beach and pick you up there which is easier than being dropped at front of Samet.

Food isn’t the best but nice enough. There’s a fab Rasta bar right next door with lovely smoothies, pizzas and cocktails. Also great reggae bar with good Thai food.

The location on a rocky point by the little beach with wood boardwalk through open air restaurant to each sea side cabin was special. We also loved the staff and the private seating area we had by the seaside cabin. The restaurant was great and stayed open later than other places nearby. The little beach next door with our own sunbed to use was great as was the reggae music from the little bar beside the resort. We loved the family feeling and the old style vibe of the resort and surrounding beach side restaurants. Easy to walk to other beaches and to explore via the trails.

The cabin was kinda small and outdated for the price point we paid. The included breakfast could have been a bit better and with less disposable items such as plastic cups etc. The reggae started at ten every morning at the little bar next door which was usually great, but sometimes the volume was a bit high.

Our stay at Tongta Phaview Resort was absolutely fantastic! Bungalows 9 and 8 are an absolute dream – so beautiful and perfect for a relaxing getaway. We ate at the restaurant every day because the food was simply incredible. Honestly, we didn’t even feel the need to leave the resort – it’s perfect for a peaceful and quiet vacation. The staff were so kind, friendly, and attentive, taking great care of us throughout our stay. We would definitely come back again. Highly recommended!

One downside was that in the evenings there was often an unpleasant smell near the bungalows, like sewage. I’m not sure if the resort is responsible for it, but it was a bit uncomfortable at times.

A beautiful resort in a stunning location. We had two chalets next to each other and it was great as we had a lovely outdoor living space to share with our daughter and husband. The family there were so helpful and friendly. The food was excellent. We also had free use of kayaks and had fun going out in the water to watch the sunset. There were also paddle boards and fishing rods that you could use for free. So excellent value for money. We were so glad we picked this location as it was so laid back and peaceful compared to the main beach close to the pier which was extremely crowded. Lots of lovely bars and a fire show every evening. Our favourite bar was the Reggae bar. The bar and restaurant at the resort itself is also great. Would definitely come back!

The best place I found to get away from it in years in Thailand! From walking into the path from the main road you feel a sense of peace, coming to the beach seeing the crystal clear water, the welcome and smiles from the family at Tongta is something you just don’t get anymore in Thailand. I had the bungalow booked for 3 nights and on the last night moved to room 8, which is no doubt the best sleep I’ve had in years (thanks Apple Watch for the stats to prove it). The waves lapping the rocks just meters from your bed is nothing but soothing the most entrenched stress from your body! The food, no need to go elsewhere, ate every dinner there! The birthday surprise setup, the fishing, and the fishing guide at night just adds to the experience, could not have had a better trip!!

The reggae bar next door needs to learn more appropriate volume control between 10am-1pm, there is no need to try and have people in Koh Chang try to hear it. But it is not the hotel fault, not much they could do with it.

It's on a very relaxed and quiet beach. Not too many tourists. Very friendly and helpful staff. The food was also pretty good. Wifi was fast for us to work remotely. We were there for 7 days and it had everything we needed for the time.

The room was a bit small, but we managed. Some of the sheets and towels had some stains, but the place was still clean.

Min was a fantastic host who truly went above and beyond for me and my four adult children. She anticipated our needs, shared great local tips, and made us feel completely at home. The rooms were cozy, the location ideal, and the food absolutely delicious with a wide range of options.

Honestly, there was nothing we didn’t enjoy. Everything was comfortable, friendly, and well-organised.

If you're looking for an upscale resort with 4 star amenities, this isn't for you. BUT, if you'd like a friendly, rustic, laid-back, unspoiled beach hideaway, do yourself a favor and book here. We had a very restful, peaceful, and enjoyable few days and would gladly return.

The breakfast wasn't great. Would rather pay a bit more and have a better breakfast. But the food in the restaurant for dinner was excellent.

Reggae bar next door, blasting reggae music all day, surrender with smell of weed... I was on family holiday and chose this area expecting a peace and quiet.
