Loved the rooms. And the way they were spread out. Staff were all extremely good. Particularly Jee (F&B Manager), Kompak and Anny who immediately made you feel at home with smiles and help all week. No pool, but right on the beach with enough beds and loungers. The eating area from lunchtime is by the sea and is very relaxing. Service can be a little slow but I think that is just a typical Asian thing. ( come on we’re on holiday and everything doesn’t need to be at top speed) I would certainly go back to this resort.

Be careful, as there are lists of items in the rooms they charge for. They supply with white towels and if you get any staining on them they will charge you 600baht. (About £14) Almost impossible not to mark them because of suntan lotion on the beach. I refused to pay after they left a photo of a stained towel (which could have come from anywhere) and we hadn’t asked them to change our towels anyway. Also, you do get two free bottles of water in the room each day but they also leave two bottles of Evian, which they charge you for if you consume them. I felt it was just an extra profit making policy.

The whole island just a dream! The room right on the beach was the best. Waking up hearing the ocean, was amazing. Staff very friendly and polite, specially Tim, our waiter.♡ Would definetly come back.

Breakfast could improve. Very limited, but on the other hand, there are more space for lunch and dinner😁

A review has an emotional part and the accurate ones. I will try to share both sides. It’s a fantastic place to recharge, probably the best relaxing time in my life. We did nothing apart from eating drinking and enjoying the sea. There are plenty available activities with good prices. A important part of how with review the facilities are the standards. We need to go to the level and standards of an Asiatic country regarding construction, plumbing, electrics etc to really be fair reviewing a place. In those standards, Ao Cho it’s GREAT, The basic security levels are achieved on this hotel, of course with room for improvement, mainly: grounding for electric outdoor illumination, better protection on the shower boiling, mainly a better finishing of the construction. The plumbing it’s a general problem around Thailand and some feedback smell can be noticed on the bathroom. But this is me being picky because if you are on the spirit to relax, nothing this matters! A/C works amazingly and it’s very modern. Breakfast was really good with Thai and continental options, a chef was there to serve you really great omelets and noodles on the go! Staff was really amazing! (Thanks Tim! Made our holiday unforgettable!) . The facilities were great! Showers near the beach reception and bar so we can take a nice shower to avoid taking sand to the room. Prices are a little up compared to the rest of the restaurants and bars, but it’s fair, since it’s the ONLY hotel, restaurant and bar on the complete island that includes TAX (meaning they pay TAX to the government and also includes 10% service charge to tip their staff!). Even though it’s still a great price when you compare the quality of the food versus price against for example with what you pay in Europe. And you are being served on the paradise! The 2 beaches around the hotel are AMAZING! Taxis are available in minutes! And if you enjoy, fire shows all nights for 30 min. The music it’s also amazing chill out with low volume!

Only tiny details on the bathroom: feedback smell and the plumbing on the shower and improvements on the electrics regarding security: still in an acceptable level but either room for improvement! An amazing hotel for recharging our batteries! Highly recommended!!!!

Everything about the Ao Chao Grandview was perfect for me. The staff were more than Friendly and Helpful but they also interacted in a very close knit way. Ao Cho was the third resort I've stayed with on Ko Samed and it was by far the best. The Beach Bars are so chilled and the staff there are really nice too. The Beach is Beautiful and the shaded Loungers provided by the resort are most welcoming after a long walk. The bungalow I hired was clean, comfortable and well equipped.

Cost of Songtaew transport to and from the village was a little on the high side but very reliable and Friendly. I would not recommend walking on the unlit narrow roads at night.

The hotel is lovely - cute beach bungalows etc. I didn't have a beach but only a 30 second walk to get there so no problem. The restaurant and bar are very good. Everything very clean and looked after. Really enjoyed my room with comfy bed, good aircon and excellent shower. The beach Ao Chor is lovely - quiet with just the hotel and a few restaurants/bars. It's further down the island where a lot of the tourists day. Sun beds on beach are good. You can walk the coast line north from here to the top of the island, but also south. This is a big plus as nice to avoid the roads.

Breakfast was good but could have been better. When the cleaners clean the rooms they shouldn't leave the doors open as then all the mosquitos come in. My room wasn't ready at 2pm so it took 20 mins for them to clean one and move beds to get one ready for me. But these are little things - don't let them put you off as the hotel is really lovely and relaxing to stay at.

Beautiful location overlooking the beach, which was fairly quiet during our stay, despite it being the lead up to Songkran. Appeared to be mainly used by the hotel guests. Also easy walking distance to a selection of beach bars/restaurants

Breakfast selection was a bit limited but adequate and what was available was good quality. Suited more to Thai and Russian tastes perhaps.

Beautiful modern island resort with professional staff. The room we stayed in was an isolated bungalow style room with no neighbors as they were doing construction on the bungalow next to ours and on the other side of us there was a water storage tank area that created more distance away from the next bungalow. Tl;Dr it was quiet and peaceful, the construction was no issue at all (meaning we didn't hear any construction noise, or if we did we didn't even notice it) The room was great and met expectations, nice soft bed and great Aircon. Also the outdoor seating on the covered front patio was a key element to making the bungalow feel like home. We only stayed 2 nights and wanted to explore the island as it was our first time here, but would love to try more of the facilities next time (bar, beach front seating, restaurant, etc)

The water in our room did suddenly shut off as we were heading out the door for a night out, so no big deal at the time, but it would be good if the hotel staff had a procedure to inform the guests of any disruption to water service (especially during construction time). Other than that small detail, everything else was fine and enjoyable

We stayed in an ocean suite and the views from the room were absolutely beautiful. The bath was lovely. The room was nicely decorated and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was pretty standard Thai island breakfast. It was a really quick walk by road to the next beach which had a bit more life to it. At night we could watch the fire dancers from our huge window which was really good!

There was construction work going on in the day which was annoying. Also the pot to clean your feet before you go into your room had not been cleaned…very questionable things floating around inside!

The hotel is situated not to far from Nadan pier, short drive with taxi truck. They charge 250 at the pier, but from the hotel you can take a privet taxi at 200 for one direction. The hotel has a beautiful beach, the water was great, there was even option for snorkeling straight from the beach! Not many beach chairs, but lots of other options, like beanbags and tables and chairs. The room was convenient for a family of five with an extra bed (requested when booked and paid for). Good water pressure, nice amenities, good AC. There were 2 beach bags, beach towels, flip flops. The staff were so nice! Whatever we asked, they did their best to help us. Tim from the restaurant was lovely and very helpful. All in all, we recommend this hotel for your stay at koh Samet.

Please have an option in the shower for hanging the shower head in a reasonable angle. A broom in the room would be helpful, we tried getting all the sand off our legs but that's an impossible mission. So we slept with sand in our beds... the outside water container for feet washing was empty, we asked to fill it up several times, but never happened. The AC started dripping all over our bag. The staff took care of it really fast, gave us hangers to dry all the wet clothes, fixed the AC and all was well.

Location - quiet, nice beach, a bit away. Staff were really nice. Good happy hour. Chairs and umbrellas on the beach. Offered free snorkeling masks.

The restaurant seemed understaffed. Service was really slow, especially for dinner. We got to breakfast in the last hour it was offered and there was hardly any food left, with the few staff scrambling to refill but not nearly keeping up. Luckily they had a smile on their face. In the room, the floors were really slippery. The rugs on top of the floors cause an additional hazard - they didn't have anything to stop them from slipping. My partner had a fall. Luckily he was okay.
