The hostess at the 5th-floor breakfast area rolled her eyes at me, which was quite unpleasant. Here’s what happened: She first seated me at a table, but then noticed it was a bit dirty. After wiping another table, she asked me to move there instead. I politely told her I’d prefer to stay at the first table since it had a better view. That’s when she looked really annoyed, rolled her eyes, and gave me a dismissive expression. It made me feel uncomfortable because I don’t think my request was unreasonable. Honestly, I wouldn’t expect this kind of attitude from staff at a high-end hotel—it didn’t feel very professional. That being said, everyone else I interacted with was absolutely wonderful!

Love the design of this hotel. Our room felt very spacious and clean. All the staff were helpful, friendly and professional. Gym was well equipped and clean, nice outdoor pool. Enjoyed the al a carte breakfast every morning. Even room service at 2am had great options and was made fresh to order. Delicious. We had some great cocktails in the bar. I loved the location, close to all the bars and restaurants, train stop right outside to the big shopping malls. Can’t wait to come back the Bangkok Standard.

Impossible to fault. I think this is my new favourite hotel chain

Everything! Love the design of the hotel, so playful and unique. It has everything that a 5-star hotel has to offer. I couldn’t fault anything. Bathroom is amazing. The room is so cozy. The staff are professional. The location is excellent, it’s basically right next to the BTS. It’s definitely worth the money!

Can’t think of anything. Only that I wish I could stay longer.

Beautiful hotel with attentive staff

The location is a very busy area for traffic so getting around in a taxi took longer than expected each time.

The Sky beach was amazing. The room and the hotel design was super cool. I really love the Toto shower-toilet! Great location.

Next time I would book a superior room, to get the higher floor. It was unfortunately sold out. The breakfast seemed to be a bit over organized, as you had to order at the table. It would be much better and faster having a bigger buffet, where you freely can take what you need.

Striking, beautiful design throughout the hotel. The staff were brilliant, very welcoming and attentive. The chinese restaurant, Mott 32 was outstanding - best duck dishes and innovative dimsum. The lunch menu and lobby cocktails were also fantastic.

Too many instagram girls by the pool, invading privacy with their constant camera snapping and taking up too much space! The western breakfast options were really terrible (better to stick to the asian items which looked much better). Mosquitos on the terrace.

The breakfast was great - because I'm working US hours the staff was able to deliver the complimentary breakfast to my room in the afternoon which was a nice touch. The pool area is nice.

The music at the pool area was not great, and a little too loud. Same in the gym, I wish I could adjust it.

Everything except check-in. I'm in love with hotel's design, the hotel even helped me to get pepper and salt from the restaurant in the dogs form. Everything in the room was well prepared. We had everything we needed.

We wrote beforehand that we will arrive earlier than check in time. We had a 9-hpur flight, so we were extremely tired and exhausted, but when we arrived, the room wasn't ready. And they asked us to wait for 2 hours, I understand that hotel is popular and busy, Even after two hours the room wasn't ready, so we had to wait more. We had complimentary drinks, but it was unacceptable.

I liked the style and smell and restaurant and surrounding of the hotel

When I stayed there for the first time, the drain in the shower didn’t work, so it was flooded every time I used it When I stayed for the second time only one power socket was working in the entire room.

We loved this hotel! The location is fantastic, right across from a train station which we used to get around and explore the city. The rooftop pool is gorgeous, as are the rooms. The view from our room overlooked the city, which we loved. The hotel staff were so kind and helpful. There are multiple bars and restaurants within the hotel, which was great. The breakfast was really good, as were the drinks we had at the hotel bars. The location felt quiet and safe, so we had no trouble walking around. Also, the hotel offered us a complimentary ticket to visit the rooftop of the building, which is the highest viewpoint in Bangkok. The rooftop has a great bar, and the views are absolutely incredible. I couldn't recommend The Standard enough.

I would just keep in mind that on top of menu items, there are tax and service charges payable. This isn't negative and we found that most places in Thailand do not include tax and service charges on the menu, these appear separately on the bill in addition to whatever you see on the menu. However, this was unexpected for us as first-time travelers to Thailand, so I would just keep this in mind when ordering food and drinks from the hotel.
