We loved this property. we stayed for 6 nights, my daughter (13) and I. It was extremely cozy, comfortable, beautiful setting, wonderful staff. 3 front staff ladies so nice and helpful. also the breakfast staff, cleaners, everyone. it was an absolute pleasure. we had laundry done twice, it was perfect and reasonable price. Very good fast service. They helped me with a rental car for 3 days. Made it seamless and good value. Advised on many things such as visiting Doi Inthanon, restaurants, main places etc, to ensure our stay was the best it could be. The breakfast was amazing every day. The woman sooo friendly and cool. The evening setting was lovely with lights in the pool and incense burning. I spent every night just sat on the cushioned seat I could lay on every night. The room was lovely, two big beds. Nice Thai style decor. Plenty space for laptops, chargers, wet clothes. Good plug sockets able to take UK plugs. Nice shower, beds made every day. Room always perfect. The hotel doesn’t have a restaurant so we ate at the Chidlom Restaurant about 250m away. absolutely lovely and reasonably priced place on the river. Amazing service, incredible food. booking a grab sometimes took some time. allow half an hour for driver to come. it’s about 10 min drive into central Chiang Mai but still a nice and relatively convenient location. but really, no complaint, these are just points to know. the place was perfect for us.

THE best place ive ever had the pleasure to stay at. An absokute dream from start to finish with very attentive staff, clean rooms, fresh towels evwryday and an assorted selwction for breakfast. Our questiona and requests were answered immediately and we felt like it was a home from home.. Incredible plants and flowers everywhere you look and a wonderful attebtion to detail, if you love gardens then your head will expkode here. Simply wonderful!!!!!

Its further away from the old part of town than we would have wished so prepare to hire a scooter or use songthaew or taxis to travel back and forth.

The traditional-style rooms are very beautiful, clean, and comfortable, preserving the authentic charm of the place. We were warmly welcomed with complimentary drinks, which was a lovely touch. Eli is amazing – always smiling, helpful, and eager to assist with anything we needed. We felt genuinely welcomed and enjoyed every moment of our stay. Highly recommended! MB

Although the property is not very central, it was easy to get tuk tuks or taxis to get around. The hotel was a haven of peace and we especially enjoyed sitting by the pool surrounded by the beautiful gardens. Our room was spacious and had a separate bathroom and dressing area. Some rooms had private terraces or balconies but ours didn't. Breakfast was served in an adjacent building which was really charming - flower and plant-filled with a soothing water feature. The food was exceptionally good - plenty of fresh fruit, eggs done to order, juices and cereals but also many local specialities. We found the staff welcoming and helpful.

The location might be an issue for some people but we really didn't find it a problem. We explored by day and enjoyed coming back to the peaceful haven provided by the hotel.

This is such a beautiful and peaceful boutique hotel! While it's a bit away from the busiest part of Chiang Mai, it was amazing to walk into such a luscious place. Beautifully decorated with lots of plants and lovely colours. The pool, while it's a bit cold, it's of great size. We stayed in a family room with two king beds, and my son absolutely loved having a huge bed for himself! The beds were really comfortable and everything was really clean. We were provided with fresh fruits in our room and they were delicious. You can access Netflix on the tv, in case you want a night in and chill out. We also used their laundry service was great. The breakfast was really nice, with lovely omelettes and freshly made scrambled eggs, fresh fruits, and traditional Thai snacks options. There are quite a few restaurants nearby, since Hongkao Village doesn't provide lunch or dinner, but you're allowed to use a microwave, plates, and cutlery, etc. from the breakfast area. Last but not least, we absolutely loved saying hello to Panda (the resident cat). Such a cutie!

It's hard to fault anything. However, my only suggestion is that some of the food needs better protecting from flies, although I understand that can be quite tricky.

Beautiful and relaxing place which reflected Thailand perfectly. Room was very big with a sofa and double bed. The bathroom was a great size with enough room for 2 people to move around. The room was wonderfully decorated. Breakfast was Asian influenced with something different to try every day. Some would say the choice was limited compared to big hotels but I found the choice and quantity more than enough.

Swimming pool could have been cleaned more often. The location is too far from the centre to walk or cycle. A taxi ride is definitely needed.

The room was not moist. The hotel previous to this one was awful: sheets were moist, the AC didn’t help at all and so the room and thus us smelled like second hand store. So I thought you can’t get not moist room from Asia anywhere. But no! Hongkhao exceeded our expectations. The room were try, sheets were try, ac worked and you could regulate the temperature and speed (in the previous place we couldn’t do that), and somehow the room kept the heat out, so we could sleep without the ac, so the “wind” weren’t blowing at us. The overall facility were superb. So nice, like little jungle. And the breakfast place - amazing - little waterfall while you’re eating!

I love this place 🧡 From the first moment I stepped into Hongkhao it felt like a dream came true. A small Thai paradise where you can unwind in all comfort and happiness. 🍀 The Pool is fantastic, all the colors of the plants and decoration are wonderful. You hear the birds. 🦜🦜🦜 I have nothing with 5 star big hotels. There is no soul. This is 5 star for me, no 6 star! ✨️ The beds are ridicously comfortable, the shower and aircon are working good and the rooms are lovely decorated.🌷🦢✌️ The staff is so wonderful and I think Panda as the staff manager is doing a great job ;). 😺 breakfast is in such a wonderful place and its plentyful 🍀 I first booked for 4 nights. The day before leaving I booked 3 more nights with another accommodation in between. As soon as I was at my new place I booked 2 extra nights. This 5 nights were only possible with 2 room swops, but I didnt mind as long as I could stay there a bit longer. 😃 It was way above my budget, but all good and Hongkhao is a little gem I wish I could take home. 🌷✨️🍀 Now it will be a place to go to in my mind when I feel a bit down! For sure I dont say goodbuy but farewell.✌️ Yes it is a bit away from town, thank buddha! I think it is a smart decision not to offer lunch and diner. Grab is convenient for that or there are a kopple of places nearby to eat. And with Grab you are quickly into town. Iam a vegetarian, here my 2 tips for vegans 💚 and vegetarians: Phosop local rice eatery & Guan Iam vegan restaurant. One of the most beautiful hotels we’ve ever stayed at. Ignore the immediate surrounding area, this place is a diamond in the rough. We had a beautiful suite overlooking the pool, surrounded by native trees and plants. The staff were incredible and would do anything for you! Unbelievably polite and helpful. Although its a little out of the way, you can get a grab taxi no bother and its less than 10 mins and £3 into main chiang mai. Breakfast was included and there was a great choice. Would highly recommend and stay again

This small boutique hotel was beautiful and so full of character. Everywhere you looked was rustic Thai and we loved it. It was a feast to the eye. The staff were so friendly, available and attentive. We spent three nights and enjoyed our stay.

We were glad we had a car as the location didn't seem to be in one of the main tourist areas. Local traffic can be heavy at times (in an orderly way) but the location of the hotel is tucked away and quiet. It was located around the back of where Google Maps directed us. Having said that, it's cheap and easy to order a Bolt taxi and it's not far from the airport.
