We stayed in the beachfront suite and it was so nice to have the separate seating area and all the additional space that came with it. It was extremely comfortable and so nice to lie in bed and have a view of the sea and hear the waves crashing onto the beach. The room was cleaned every day and the staff were really friendly and helpful with booking taxis etc. The pool was great, especially as it was located right next to the beach. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend Andalay Boutique Resort.

We would have liked better lighting in the room and the breakfast was a little on the basic side.

The staff was super helpful and lovely with us and our baby. Also the location is perfect as it’s on the beach, so very comfortable. There is a massage place on the beach as well, so you don’t need to leave the hotel for it. The restaurants around the hotel were also very nice. The breakfast was quite good, just for the first few days there was missing any vegetables and then later on there was a plenty of options, so that was a bit strange.

The bathroom had an unpleasant sewer smell, especially after checking in, but not always afterwards. Another slight disappointment is the poor insulation in the rooms, where it seems like the neighbour behind the wall is taking a shower in our room instead of his. It took some time getting used to.

Good location, beautiful beach. Great place for a massage on the beach. Spacious rooms. Friendly and helpful staff.

I was there in low season and it was very quiet, not busy in any restaurants nearby - I imagine in high season it is quite different. If you are uncomfortable with bugs/wildlife, probably not the place for you. A lot of mosquitos, however this was easily fixed with a plug in repellent from 7 eleven. There are monitor lizards that live on the property - they can be noisy at nighttime (bring earplugs!) Rooms and a little shabby and could do with an update.

Room was lovely, pool was gorgeous and clean and had a sea view which was amazing. Staff were friendly, food and cocktails were nice. Location was fab, it was on a beautiful beach with soft white sands and calm seas that were not rocky underneath, beautiful sunsets and within easy walking distance to nice restaurants. Also a cheap and quick tuk tuk from the Old Town which is nice to visit for an evening.

Our toilet leaked and therefore there was an unpleasant smell in the bathroom. This was our only issue and the hotel staff did call maintenance immediately who siliconed the toilet base to help the leak, so we are grateful that they sorted it so quickly, the smell did remain though. Other than this (which was not a usually occurrence) everything else was absolutely perfect and we didn’t want to leave. We will 100% be back.

We moved from a Beachfront Suite to a poolside room for our last night due to our flights and the fact that we couldn’t stay in the room as our original room was already booked. Notwithstanding the difference in rooms, we loved the location and the quiet ambience of walking along the beach, sometimes feeling that we were the only ones on this huge long and lovely beach. The safe lock wouldn’t work but the staff came and fixed it immediately - well done. we loved the infinity pool, the outdoor eating area and the attentive Mac and team who served us breakfast and afternoon drinks - thank you Mac. The front desk staff members were just what you would expect from the lovely Thai people.

The smell of drains following our first shower was in expected. It came and went and we kinda got used to it, but it was a bit powerful at first! The bed was firm but tolerable even with a mattress topper in place. A better selection of pillows would help with getting a restful sleep; but we managed reasonably well. We visited at the very end of the rainy season and many places were just about waking up from their hibernation when they don’t get too many visitors. So while the resort was quiet, there were still many other bars and restaurants all with a 1 minute to 10 minute walking distance so you will never be without somewhere to dig your feet in the sand at one of he very many beach bars.

Really good location, amazing views from the pool and access to the beach. In a quiet location, sometimes the only people on the beach, good bars restaurants and bars around. Rooms were clean and well air-conditioned. Restaurant food was delicious.

Mosquitos and bugs were coming into the bathroom every day, must have been through a hole in the walls and bathroom door was always shut and no mosquitos in the main room. One day there was a lizard and a cockroach but the staff dealt with it quickly and removed for us.

We’ve been in Andalay about 8 years ago. Ofcourse the place is a much more run down since then but it’s still small and cute.

The bed was ROCK hard and we really struggled to sleep. I like harder beds and have one at home, too but this was next level hard :( Like it was literally painful to sleep and our backs were so stiff and hurt the next days. Thankfully on third day when we asked, we were kindly offered a mattress topper and it did help a little bit.

What I like the most was the view and the size of the hotel. Waking up every morning and have that breath taking view even on a rainy day was priceless. The room has everything that you need but be aware that beds are hard (a very common thing in Thailand). The staff were incredible, they book our transfer from the airport to the hotel and then to Krabi. A big thank you to the two receptionists who made our stay so pleasant and welcoming. I love our stay and totally recommend it!

I would say that time to time the beach area can be clean. We found a lot of death fish and trash.

The bunglalow is a great size, wonderful pool area with plenty of sunbeds and deckchairs directly leading to the beach. Outdoor restaurant again overlooking the beach is great to watch the sunsets

as per other reviews, be aware that the air con is very noisy and could disrupt sleep. You can’t really go without it so would recommend ear plugs as you are also close to the main road

The location at the beach is superb, the rooms are large and comfortable with beach view. Breakfast is OK, not as much choice though as in other hotels of this price class

Apart from the fantastic beach, there is not a lot to do on Koh Lanta, one needs transport. There is no Grab, open pick-up trucks are relatively expensive on this island. There is basically one road at the coast side with little businesses both for locals and tourists.
