Great staff, very sociable and welcoming bar & reception area and right by the beach. Obviously we're talking about a hostel here, so facilities are what you pay for. I think the private room (shared bathroom) was very much value for money with a good bed. My room was on the side of the building and could not hear the bar or the road at all. So if you value a quiet room, you can ask for the side room! Loved the place, super good vibes, had a great week making new friends as a solo traveler.

Nothing really, as long as you are aware you are staying at a social hostel, meaning that music will be on til midnight and that hostels do lack in certain luxuries hotels have, you'll have a blast.

This was def my favorite hostel in the whole Thailand, it felt like home which is mostly difficult to feel while doing hostels. Absolutely great vibes, nice DJs, nice activities, amaaaazing staff (saying hi to all!) and guests overall, delicious food and drinks - also recommended places around the hostel (Fisherman and Bubba’s), right next door is also pier with speedboat to Samui in 20 mins, nice and chill outside area right on the beach. Very good prices.

The facilities might use some renovations, the dorms are quite dark, did not like the toilets and showers right next to each other

This is probably the best hostel on Koh Phangan if you're looking to meet young individuals and enjoy to party. There's a pretty chill area with couches and tables to eat at, as well as a restaurant/bar and a pool table. Hostel is located right at a private beach where you can hang out. AC in the rooms is always on, and it was pretty quiet at night. Staff is incredibly nice and you can get food pretty much all day long for reasonable prices and good quality (the Thai food is a lot better than the western foods though.). There is a 7/11 round the corner and places to rent a scooter. Overall I've been quite impressed with this hostel and would book again if I were to visit another time.

The bunk beds are a little tough to climb and there is only little space in the dorm for your personal stuff. You need to bring a lock if you want to shut your locker. The rooms arent well lit, which is good for sleeping in, but can get a little chaotic every once in a while..

- liked the chill out area on the beach, beanbags to sit on and lots of them making it nice to sit there especially at night - hostel offers lots of activities like morning yoga every day for free which is great way to meet people - lots of showers and toilets unlike most hostels which will only have a few - shower cubicles are not tight and are a good size - staff are lovely and friendly - good food which is reasonably priced

- has ants in my room at one point, not hostels fault and cleaners were very accommodating to help me get rid of them - my room was next to pool table area and was very hard to get to sleep before 1am as could hear the music through earplugs, would be perfect if music could be turned down slightly perhaps after 12 - beach wasn’t that great, is very small and amongst lots of rubbish but this may be due to the excessive rain?

We absolutely loved our stay at Echo Hostel, the main area was awesome with lots of seating options and a pool table, perfect for socializing, and the beach seating was lovely and relaxing, they had some activities like morning yoga, and drink specials on nights that there were parties going on around the island. The staff were lovely and truly cared about providing us with an excellent experience, any issues we had (which were hardly any) were addressed with kindness and care. The location is great for getting around, very close to the night market for some yummy late night eats, and many little shops nearby. The rooms were clean and we always saw people constantly cleaning the bathrooms and main areas.

Everything was great. There were some ants in the bedroom when we arrived but hey, it’s Thailand, it’s hard to get away from them. We just asked the cleaning staff for a morning sweep and the ants would stay away for most of the day!

I stayed here for the full moon party and it was great! Loved being right on the beach and the rooms were very comfortable with everything you need- curtains, sockets and lights by the bed. The hostel organised transport to the full moon party as well as the other parties like the jungle rave which was great. The bar was a nice area to socialise and the staff were friendly.

The food served in the restaurant isn’t great and I found it to be very strong smelling when you leave your bedroom first thing in the morning. I thought the hostel wasn’t that social. Could’ve been because of the full moon party but it largely seemed to be groups rather than solo travellers who were friendly but didn’t want to socialise much. They do play music until around 2am but this didn’t bother me as I knew what I was signing up for with booking a more ‘party’ hostel! Other than a few restaurants there’s not loads around the hostel so you need a scooter or to pay for tuktuks to go to the busier areas.

Echo Hostel is 𝘵𝘩𝘦 place to stay at if you're visiting Ko Phangan, there's no contest. The hostel itself has a very nice vibe to it, the interior design provides a relaxed and light atmosphere. The location is superb, everything is within reach - you can rent a scooter right across the street. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful - always smiling and always readily available for anything you might need. The owners are usually to be found in the lounge area, and if you encounter any kind of problem, then trust me, they will go up and beyond to help you. The food they provide is also great. I stayed here for 5 days and I enjoyed every second of it. No real complaints.

At times the music was a bit too loud, and seldom were there any breaks to just enjoy the silence and buzz of this place. Although not to worry, the music they play is quite good and chill.

Really good value private room, very spacious and decent balcony, had AC. Loved the hostel itself - great food and drink options, had a fun time on the beach and playing pool, lots of opportunity to meet people if you want. 7/11 two mins walk away was a lifesaver.

Good location for being near the pier, Half Moon party etc, but you will probs need a moped to see more of the island (this is normal because Ko Phangan is pretty big)
