This was a great hotel resort. We also stayed at their sister resort in Bangtao. We originally booked a hotel right next door which was a new boutique hotel. We checked in and quickly realized it was not the place for us. We walked over to this Best Western and moved over the next day. This hotel has three pools, nice restaurant, and the staff were wonderful. The rooms were large and well stocked. The grounds were natural and full of trees and natural environment. The lobby features free coffee and iced tea and has a pool table and a very relaxing area to wait for taxis and shuttles. The hotel is located right next to restaurants, massage spas, and 7-11. I am really unsure how the hotel is considered a 3 star hotel. It is definitely a 4 star.

The bathrooms need renovation. They still have shower curtains and when it rains, there is a sewer smell coming in. It seems like they renovated the rooms, but not the bathrooms. I do love that they have shampoo, conditioner, and body wash available. No face towels, only hand and bath towels. Just know there are a lot of stairs. It wasn't a problem for us and it helped work off all of those banana pancakes, but if you have mobility issues, this will be a hard hotel to stay at.

We booked the Best Western Ocean Resort in Karon Beach based on the recommendation from a friend. It is what you expect for a three star hotel. We had two adjoining rooms (they didn't have door between them but they were next to each other with a shared balcony). It was clean and the rooms were decent sized. Good water pressure and temperature in the shower. You can login to your Netflix account on the TV and watch TV in bed when you need a rest. Airconditioning in the room was good. Rooms were cleaned daily, however, there were a couple of days we asked for them not to be cleaned as we were unwell and just got fresh towels and more toilet paper. My son and I came down with a stomach virus and the staff were very kind to us. I felt safe sending my two children down to dinner alone in the restaurant when I was too sick to join them. We had breakfast included in our package. Breakfast was okay for a three star (but if you have had a buffet at a fancier hotel, this doesn't really compare) and my children looked forward to it daily. There are noodles, rice, lots of soup (which isn't not something we would normally eat for breakfast, but the carrot soup was intriguing), bread, eggs, fruit, salad, and sometimes hashbrowns (they need these more often as they were so good). We had room service several times while recovering from being sick and it arrived hot and was good. For the price, this hotel was good value, clean, friendly, and in a good location.

As many other people have mentioned in their reviews, there are a lot of stairs. It is definitely not for anyone with knee issues. There is a lift, but there are quite a lot of stairs to get up to the lift. Of the three pools, one was closed for renovation during the low season. This didn't really affect us. The work was quiet. The pools "close" early at 8pm. We had two rooms next to the pool on the third level. We didn't mind people using the pool quietly after 8pm. However, there were multiple occasions where a large group of guests were using the pool and being very loud. Twice I called down to reception to request that they ask the group to be quiet. Once was at 4am and the other was at 11pm. Aside from this, the hotel was fairly quiet and we were able to sleep well.

Clean and quiet. Breakfast was good and excellent service from the staff. Highly recommended.

It’s a lot walk and lots of steps to your room (not good for those with limited mobility) with little roof cover to my hotel room from the lobby. Meaning during monsoon season you still get wet even bring in the hotel if you have to leave your room.

Lovely huge room with great views. Three pools means you can pick the quietest one if you wish. Helpful and friendly staff. Shower was powerful.

I laughed before going to this hotel at all the comments re the steps as it is a hotel in a hill, what did people expect! But seriously, there are A LOT of steps which are unavoidable. After twisting an ankle this became a bit more challenging to get around the hotel! Breakfast bang average. Weird smell in bathroom of sewage.

- Great location near the beach and shops & restaurants. Bus stop also near. - Room was very clean, bed comfortable. - Complementary water bottles and coffee machine in the lobby. - Kind and helpfull staff.

- Restaurant (also the breakfast buffet) was quite expensive, but food very basic. Better & cheaper food elsewhere in the area. - A lot of stairs. I didn't mind, but not suited for people with mobility issues.

What i loved about the hotel was that it was modern, bright and full of greenery. The staff was all very pleasant and always will make you feel welcomed. There's help everywhere whenever you need it. The location was a few minutes walk away from the beach, restaurants and most importantly 7/11!!! Additionally, the views from the room and balcony was really nice. we got alot of sunlight and also lovely view of the mountain behind the hotel.

The one thing that may be a drawback for some people is the stairs that you have to use to get to the room. it may be too tiring and strenuous for some people, especially in the heat.

Nice hotel near the sea (literally 5 minutes walk to Karon beach). Also nearby within walking distance of the market, stop with a bus going to the shopping center. Around a lot of cafes, massages, etc. The hotel has great pools. The rooms are quite clean and pleasant. Fast wi-fi. Transfers from many tour operators are also available from this hotel. The breakfast is not very tasty, but it will do. Overall, I recommend it for the price. Service is good.

There are a lot of ants if you do not remove the edible waste immediately (they crawl in columns on any candy wrapper). Also on the way to the sea in front of the hotel there is a rather dirty and dirty lake. In the hotel itself, of course, the smell is not felt, but on the way to the sea it spoils the view a little.

We loved our 5 day stay here and will be booking this hotel again if we go back to Karon beach, everything was perfect, they gave you free coffee or tea in reception all day everyday.

There were a lot of steps, so if you have mobility issues I'm not sure it will be for you

I stayed at the Best Western Ocean Resort Karon Beach with my family for two weeks in July and we all had a wonderful time. The Resort is well laid out with two swimming pools and ample sun loungers for the guests to enjoy. The grounds are well maintained with beautiful flower beds and well manicured lawns. The rooms are large and well maintained with excellent WiFi and amenities. The staff were very friendly always greeting you with a friendly smile and the complimentary coffee and juice in the lobby was a lovely and welcome surprise to relax in the morning or after a day out at the beach or sightseeing. The on site laundry was also an added bonus and a very useful facility. All in all I would highly recommend this Hotel and Resort and would have no hesitation staying here again when we next visit Karon Beach.

Staff is very helpful, always smiling. Good selection for breakfast. The pools are clean and have enough sunbeds, although it wasn't a busy period during my stay. I really enjoyed my time and will be back. I would highly recommend them.

They had some renovation during my stay and it was really noisy sometimes. Fortunately, I didn't spend much time at the retreat.
