Marcus created a space that is amazing. In a place that is amazing! I was really happy I chose this guesthouse whilst staying in awesome but chaotic Patong Beach. Fong Kaew is a really laidback accommodation just outside the crowdedness of BanglaRoad. Good place to switch off, when needed. Marcus, born in Belgium, has been running his guesthouse for 16 years. He is serious in keeping everything up to standard. It shows. The room at Fong Kaew left me wanting for nothing. Quite important; a big soft mattress. A rare thing in Thailand. The LED-lights in the ceiling are a very nice touch. Because he has lived here for a long time - and started out as a tourist himself - Marcus knows the ins and outs of the Island. Don’t hesitate to ask for some tips. (I went to Nai Han Beach on a motorbike and wasn’t disappointed!). When I left and I forgot my bankcard at the guesthouse. He made sure it found its way back to me; on Koh Phi Phi! Next to the guesthouse you’ll find a laundry service. 50 baht per kg. I can’t remember the last time I felt clothes this soft! And how do they fold it so neatly? If I ever visit Phuket again, I would stay here (100%). And if you decide to stay here, also check out their own website.

The apartment was quite spacious with comfy 7lounge, dining table and mini bar as well as 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The location was less than 10min walk to Patong Beach. Access to the third floor was a bit difficult with no elevator but we got used to it,

Size of the appartment was great. Location was in an awesome spot. The staff were excellent and accommodating. I would happily stay here again. For the size of this and the cost you wont find much better.

I had an amazing stay at Gasthaus Fong Kaew! I truly felt at home, especially thanks to Marcus, the owner, who was incredibly friendly, kind, and helpful. It was a beautiful experience right in the heart of Phuket. The location is perfect—close to the nightlife scene, yet my room was quiet and peaceful, so I could sleep very well. The room was clean, spacious, and decorated with beautiful Thai design. It was big enough, well-organized, and I really appreciated the comfortable atmosphere. I will definitely come back again! The owner is a very nice and friendly family. Staff responsible for technical maintenance and cleaning was also extremely helpful, polite, nice and friendly. We were very welcomed at this property and loved every second of our stay. The apartment is huge, quite comfortable. Although not 100% new and fancy, but very cozy and maintained with love. 1 min walk from the main street, it was quiet and pleasant. Nice balcony, beach towels for free (fee if you lose them), complimentary water in the fridge, safe in the room - everything you need. Would love to return!

We got an apartment on the 4th floor and this is an old building without a lift. It was quite difficult for us to go up each time, but this didn't affect our stay significantly and we loved the flat anyway.

Price, considering the location. Very central and because it is inside a large prestigious hotel complex, noise and disturbance from traffic was minimal. Room was large with aircon and a big bed and had fridge. Due to size of hotel also minimal disturbance from other guests.

No facilities for booking trips but lots available nearby. Attendance at reception was sporadic but we didn't need it much anyway. Some may not like the very central location as once you get outside the hotel complex it is EXTREMELY busy. Traffic was particularly bad ALL DAY (January) and night especially for getting transport to/ from the complex. Room was a little more smelly when we returned than desirable, but this is not untypical of smaller hotels in the Patong Beach area.

The location of the property was very good. Its hardly a 10 minute walk to bangla road and 7/11 was just 5 minutes away. The rooms were spacious and had ample light. The property was clean and rooms were serviced daily. Although there were bars around the property and a lot of reviews mentioned it gets noisy at night, we couldn’t hear anything from our rooms and we slept peacefully. Marcus, our host, was always available and helped us with to do things in Phuket. We really want to thank Marcus for making our stay comfortable.

Nothing as such. There are no lifts on the property and we stayed on third floor. It was already mentioned in the reviews but Marcus arranged our luggage to be carried to our floor and down as well when we left. We didn’t really have an issue with no lifts and climbed the stairs. :)

The hotel is walkable distance from Patong beach and other major market places. Even though loud music was playing outside during New Year's time, there was no noise inside the room, we had undisturbed sleep. Marcus is a jolly person and helped us with useful information, he answered to our queries on time before we reached the hotel. We appreciate his hospitality. The hotel staff Kwan was very helpful. The room was good for the price we were charged. Everything was organised well inside the space available. The kitchenette came in handy. 7/11 is nearby. Overall it was a pleasant experience in the hotel.

Everything was perfect and as expected. The location is very convenient, with many shops very close to it and it is only a short 5-minute walk to Bangla road for people that want to party at night and still have the convenience to walk back home instead of taking a taxi or tuk tuk. The apartment has everything that you need to stay for a long time, as it has a fully-functional kitchen with all the essentials, it is very spacious which is convenient, especially for longer stays as you can organise your stuff as if you were home. Marcus and his team are super helpful, always with a smile and ready to assist you with whatever you need. There is also daily cleaning which is an added bonus. You can even rent a motorbike from there (based on availability) which is super convenient. I highly recommend this place for your holidays.

Everything was excellent. Marcus, the owner, was super friendly and careful, also helped with transfer from/to airport. The next apartments were renovated at that time, so Marcus arranged for minimizing the noise. In fact, the noise didn't bother us much. The room was big, comfortable, clean and had a very interesting interior, something in traditional style. The bed with hard mattress was pretty good. All was equipped with everything necessary, including two battles of water. The cleaning was done on request. Apartments are on the 3rd floor with long and narrow stairway, not a prob, but maybe this can be important for someone. Location is really good: quite street, nearby there are the famous Bangla Roud, Patong beach, a big shopping center Jungceylon with lots of various shops, entertainments and other stuff, 7-Eleven and so on. Laundry next door. There was a rooster which woke you up around 5 am every morning but - this is Thailand. 😁 We had an amazing time there, thank you, Marcus and your team! Highly recommended
