The staff are very friendly. The lady who serves breakfast enthusiastically told me, despite the language barrier, that she could prepare freshly made dishes. When I was checking out, the front desk staff assisted me in contacting a local driver who was running late. The rooftop terrace offers a view of the bay, and it's very comfortable to eat and relax there. The room is spacious and clean, with lovely decor. Right downstairs is Istiklal Street, making it very convenient for shopping and dining, especially for tourists who cannot use delivery apps or need to buy some souvenirs and daily necessities.

I chose a sea view room, but the actual view of the sea is quite limited. If you're expecting a wide-open ocean view, you might need to choose a different hotel. Right below my balcony is the terrace of a bar that has been partying from the evening until the early morning since the third day of my stay. I have always been someone who sleeps very well, but the noise from the bar was so loud that even with the earplugs provided by the hotel, I couldn't rest properly. I hope the hotel can communicate this issue with the bar.

The location is great, in an artistic area with a lot of small creative shops and art gallerys. Close to restaurants and the main shopping street. The interior design is elegant and chic, contemporary sophisticated. Loved the room with a small veranda and the wiev over the old city and Bosporus.

The only things to give some small remarks on is the breakfast. It was ok, but I missed better bread (I recomend some sort of Italian style "Strato", a rustic baguette with crispy crust and open crumb). And better musli and youghurt. Maybe a toaster as well. The breakfast veranda was beautiful.

GentleTom is a small boutique hotel in one of the trendiest areas of Istanbul. It is located in a renovated building. The rooms are tastefully decorated and immaculate clean. The bed, pillows/bed linen were so comfortable. The staff were friendly and competent. Breakfast was served in a rooftop terrace with a really great view over the city. I can’t think of a better location and place to stay for such value.

Gentle Tom is a great hotel in a great neighborhood. Tom Tom is a great area. It's central while being a real neighborhood with a great mix of locals and visitors of all types. I care about the decor of rooms in hotels and was pleased to find my room well designed, simple, stylish and comfortable. The lobby doesn't match the thoughtful design of the rooms and the rooftop with its great views of the city and the Bosporus. Just outside the hotel to the left is the main shopping street of Istanbul with all the international and national brands and tons of people. Easy walking to other interesting areas like Galata. Cafe Ara is in between the hotel and the main street a few steps from the hotel with a great local vibe. To the right a few doors down is a lovely wine bar and Italian restaurant perfect for a relaxed first night in town. There are local shops and groceries on the the street for basics or if if you want a quieter evening. The former French Orphanage down the street is a beautiful green oasis with a cafe for a lovely early evening.

Some say it's noisy but it's where the action is. I wasn't bothered by the noise. I previously stayed in a quieter more expensive area of Istanbul and found it dull especially as a solo traveler.

Great location, especially if you like small cafe's, bars and shops. Some nice little restaurants along the road, although the road is quite steep so would not suit anyone with mobility issues if you intend to walk from the hotel. Within 2 minutes, you're on a great shopping street and there are bazaars, bars and restaurants in several directions. The hotel itself is small, but nicely decorated and the staff are really helpful. The breakfast was decent, but in staying a week, became a bit repetitive.

The back of the hotel overlooked a busy bar which was loud towards the end of the week and weekend. If you like nightlife, this shouldn't be a problem, but it's not a place for those who want to be asleep by 10pm.

The accommodation is located in a great location - between Taksim Square and the Gelata Tower. A minute walk to Istiklal Street, which is the most visited street with shops. We are very happy that we chose this hotel in this part of the city, because in the evening everything is open until 11 pm and beyond, while in the old part of the city the Bazaar closes at 7 pm and then life just dies down there. There are two metro stations and trams near the hotel, so it is also easy to move around the city by public transport. Galata Bridge is also reachable on foot in 15 minutes. In short, the location is great. The hotel is nicely decorated, the rooms are spacious and clean. We were in room 102 on the first floor. Our room had a terrace and looked out into a side street, directly into a fancy club, where there was a lot going on during the weekend. The music was quite loud. If you have trouble sleeping, book the room with street view. We were not bothered by the noise and slept well, but with earplugs that the hotel gave us. Breakfast is served on the 5th floor with a beautiful view. That was cool. The only thing they could do is improve the variety of the breakfast. If you are there for 7 days, it gets a bit boring to eat the same thing every day with very few options. However, the breakfast is tasty, even with a just few different options. The hotel staff is very friendly. They helped us a lot on the last day when we were waiting for the airport shuttle, which was delayed. Thanks again for that! We highly recommend this hotel and if we return to Istanbul, we will definitely rent a room here again.

The staff was super helpful and friendly, always greeting the guests with a smile and kind word. The breakfast on the rooftop was great, and the unhindered view of Topkapi and Haya Sophia surpassed the view from other vantage spots in the city, including the Galata Tower. The location is just excellent —within walking distance of the Galata Tower area, the Karaköy port, and also Taksim Square. It is a close distance from The Museum of Innocence, which is a great introduction to the city of Istanbul and some of its history.

Noise. There are bars in the neighborhood that make it difficult to fall asleep. Only the use of ANC headphones did the trick.

Excellent Location and Helpful Staff We had a great stay! The location is excellent — less than a minute walk to Istiklal Street and around 10 minutes to Taksim Square. The area is lively and convenient, perfect for exploring Istanbul. The staff were very nice and extremely helpful. They allowed us to leave our bags after checkout, which made our last day much easier. We really enjoyed the sea view from the room,such a lovely bonus. Just keep in mind that the street can get a bit noisy at night, especially on weekends. Highly recommend for anyone wanting to stay in the heart of the city!

Great location , very nice Design (Interiors, barhrooms, Terrace). The staff was willing to help, although objectively, it is difficult to contact with such little knowledge of english-actually that was the case at many places we visited. In any case, our main issue was that the Hotel is very noisy, so we had to change rooms. Fortunately it was possible to change from a balcony room (above the little street at the back with the bars) to a front street room that was much better, so our advice is to choose the rooms that face the front street in advance (no balcony). Breakfast was okay, not great because of little variety. The Terrace view is great to start the day. Over all, our advice to the Hotel is to sound-proof the exrerior walls, also maybe invest a little more on service and gentletom will be top!

We arrived on 21st Nov at around 10 am at the hotel. We were expecting that we would drop our bags and leave the hotel as hotels normally don't allow check in until the afternoon. However, Gentletom staff were very accommodating and allowed us to check in already. As a bonus, they also allowed us to have breakfast upstairs, which had a really nice view of Istanbul! All facilities of the room were clean and nice, the hotel looks new and is very aesthetically pleasing. The hotel is also a minute away from Istiklal Street, perfect for tourists.
