Very nice hotel and super friendly staff. Especially Berat was very hospitable and made sure we enjoyed our stay. The location is ideal, with the hotel being directly next to the busy pedestrian street. Nevertheless, the windows were isolated well and we couldn’t hear anything at night.

The bathroom was a bit disfunctional. You had to walk through the shower to get to the toilet and the faucet was extremely difficult to turn off.

The manager was very rude and disrespectful, the room started smelling the the third day I believe and they told us they would give us another room that was the only one they had and lower category than ours but no refund. The room they gave us had no soundproofing and when we went downstairs to ask for another even though they said it was the only they had free they did give us another room clearly showing they lied before to give us the smaller room. When we asked the next morning for a refund due to us sleeping at 3:00 am for the trouble they said no and they gave us free breakfast for 2 days and room same as the one we had before and the manager said “that’s good enough for you” with disrespecting tone

The room was very nice and always clean — it was tidied up perfectly every day. All the staff were truly amazing: super friendly, welcoming, kind, and always helpful. The location is excellent, just a short walk from Taksim Square and well connected by public transport, with plenty of restaurants and bars nearby. Despite being in a lively area, our room on the upper floors was quiet and peaceful. Breakfast was also excellent — very rich with a wide variety of options: sweet and savory, continental and traditional Turkish, and it changed every day. A really pleasant stay!

The breakfast was absolutely perfect, offering everything you could possibly want to start the day. It was delicious, varied, and I would definitely recommend it. The location was also outstanding, right in the heart of Istanbul, making it incredibly easy to reach anywhere thanks to excellent transportation connections. The rooms were spacious, beautifully designed, and had such a great vibe that made them a joy to stay in. I had a small issue with my original room at first, but the staff handled it wonderfully and upgraded me, which made my stay even more enjoyable. The service overall was excellent, everything worked smoothly and I always felt well taken care of. The staff were truly golden: extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and always willing to help. They gave me fantastic recommendations for things to do in Turkey, and the experiences I had were truly unforgettable. One staff member, an Indian girl, even suggested some amazing food spots, which turned out to be highlights of my trip. This hotel exceeded my expectations in every way. The rooms, the service, the location, and especially the staff made my stay 100 times better. I genuinely recommend this place to anyone visiting Istanbul.

Since the hotel is right in the center of Taksim, the nights can get noisy, but I wasn’t really disturbed.

We have stayed in many hotels around Europe, including Paris. This is the BEST hotel. Thank you to all the personnel!

Hotel The Public has a great location - it's just next to Istiklal Street in Taxim neighborhood. Taxim is known for it's bars, restaurants and party atmosphere. It is a vibrant place all day long, shops and cafes are also open till midnight or later. The hotel is especially convenient for people coming from Sabiha Gökçen International Airport since the stop for the shuttle bus is 10-15 by foot from it. It's also close to Taxim Square and a subway station. The hotel is in an old building but it's well renovated and the rooms combine old style with modern facilities. There's an air conditioning, which is a necessity, especially for the summer months. The buffet breakfast was tasty and included in our price. There's also a coffee machine in the room and we received a bottle of mineral water for each day of our stay as a compliment.

There was unpleasant smell in the bathroom. Our room was not looking towards the street, so we didn't have problems with the noise, but for some of the other rooms, there might be such a problem.

This hotel is superb! Firstly, great value for money. A very reasonable price for a luxurious experience. a beautiful combination of an old classic building, combined with modern chic designs and art. Staff was helpful and friendly. The breakfast is amazing and was accompanied by great music. Location is excellent with proximity to metro stations, lots of food options and just a block away from a lively nightlife scene, full of bars, clubs, and live music yet the room was quiet. couldn’t hear any of the loud nightlife that goes on just the short distance away. Highly recommended.

Everything was really great. I will definitely come back to this hotel — it’s my first choice if I have the chance to stay again. It was excellent value for money. The location was perfect, and the staffs was very nice and helpful. There were just a few very minor issues, which I mentioned earlier, but overall, it was a wonderful experience.

Everything in the hotel was generally good, but there were a few things that were a bit inconvenient. For example, there was no duvet or blanket on the bed. I only realized this in the middle of the night when I got cold and looked for one, but found that there was no extra blanket in the room or in the wardrobe. Another issue was the design of the bathroom tap. It was quite unusual, and I had a hard time figuring out how to turn it on. In my opinion, that design was not really suitable for a hotel—it wasn’t user-friendly or sustainable at all.

Good room. We took the junior suit which I highly recommend. Very nice staff and excellent service and location.

The AC is terrible. They are using a split AC that doesn’t work well so the room was super hot and the AC itself is very noisy. I recommended them to fix it and let the split one as backup but ofc when the fix and upgrade it. The pillows were not comfortable and need to also be changed to better ones. But besides these two points the hotel is really worth it.

The staff were amazing, very attentive and polite. Always receptive of our questions and queries. Helping us (my 5 year old and I) out with a lot of info, especially as we arrived to Istanbul (with our flights affected) by the snow. I also loved the attic room we stayed which was a very peaceful oasis in the heart of Beyoglu. It made our short stopover in Istanbul very comfortable.

The rooms are beautiful from the pictures, but staying there, their wear and tear is apparent. This is by no means a major criticism, just a small detail. The curtains for instance were no longer closing properly in our room but the staff were very swift and efficient in helping to repair them.
