There’s something rather remarkable about arriving in a bustling capital thousands of miles from home and being greeted like an old friend. From the moment I step through the doors of the Sheraton Hotel Kampala, I’m met with a kind of effortless hospitality that feels less like hotel service and more like being welcomed back by family you actually like. Breakfasts here are something to savour—generous, varied, and utterly satisfying. There’s a comforting rhythm to mornings at the Sheraton: the clink of cutlery, the aroma of fresh coffee, the easy conversation of travellers and locals alike. The staff, without fail, are disarmingly friendly—overly helpful in the best possible way—and somehow always one step ahead of what you need, even if you didn’t know you needed it. What strikes me most, though, is the genuine nature of it all. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting the manager on several visits, and he always makes a point of stopping for a chat—something few managers in my travels ever seem to do. It’s a small gesture, but it says a great deal. Even the security staff and room attendants seem to have mastered the art of graciousness. There’s a quiet pride in the way the place is run—like everyone is invested in making it special. And somehow, despite being from Ireland, I really do feel at home here. It’s a rare thing to find a hotel that makes you smile just thinking about it. But this place does. Every time.

Meals especially breakfast Coffee -Excellent Tea -Excellent Other meals were super

Was with two partners and we used hotel taxi driver for 3 days, but to our surprise the driver was dismissed from his duties simply because he was trusted more by us and we did not want to use any other driver To me this is unacceptable. very disappointing we felt this is very unfair for the taxi operating company @ Sheraton in Kampala.

One of the pearls of Kampala. 22 years since I visited the hotel I was back to stay for 5 nights. The personnel are friendly and service minded and the facilities are clean. I really appreciate that they can tidy up suits, iron shirts and polish shoes. As I was attending a wedding I held that in high regard. I would also like to compliment the variety of shops at the hotel, which allow you to purschase items from high end to casual, clothes, souvenirs etc. There is also a tourist information center at the same premises.

If there was one thing I would have like to see improve is if they can make the rooms and the doors a bit more noiseproof. When you are inside your room you can easily be distracted by noise coming from the hall.

The Hospitality [Special shoutouts to Ms. Hope and Mr. Bruce] The Valentine Dinner set menu was wonderful. The room was fine. The breakfast was a healthily balanced diet. The late check-out enabled my wife and I enough time to check out other facilities around the premise.

It took a bit of time (30-40 minutes) to have us checked in. I did not expect that considering I had already communicated our arrival time.

My Laundry did not get done the first time. I gave it to a maid who said she would take it down but I found it in my room that night and had to take it down myself. Then it did not get delivered the next day I called and they brought it up then.

This Sheraton is a very fun and engaging property. better than most. Jean Philippe has truly created a 5 star experience. His daily involvement in the property, especially with customers, is more than any General Manager of any property I have stayed at. The staff is extremely nice, smart, attentive, and their love of the customers experience really shows. The property itself is not the newest of Sheraton, or Marriott hotels; but it doesn't matter. The atmosphere of the staff elevated my experience to one of my favorites. Kampala can be hard to adjust too for new travellers, but I truly feel at home at Sheraton Kampala. if I could give it more stars I would.

Having stayed in quite a few places, and travelled quite a bit - I could nit pick the property. but any type issue was met by overwhelming response from the staff... I got a wrong order from room service, they fixed it, discounted it, and gave me a free cake dessert that made me forget entirely what happened. the smokers section is tucked out back, and kinda far - but not sure I would even complain - they actually have servers out there that are attentive and I enjoyed the privacy.

the location was perfect and some of the staffs are exceptional especially those at the equator bar , the breakfast hall and a couple of the receptionist

Their approach to their customers that came in earlier than the check in time .. I was made to pay $180 just for about 5 or 6 hours to my check in time , instead of welcoming me and at least putting me in a comfort zone for my room to be ready …it’s annoying , The bathroom tubs and the toilet at the diplomatic suites are uncomfortable , Please they should do something about it .. it’s too small for comfort

The hotel's location is good for one with business in the Kampala CBD

I had to walk long distance to catch my taxi since there were stringent security controls, for some delegates staying at the hotel. The hotel had no control over this security set up.

Fantastic hotel, good security, super friendly staff who would do everything to make your stay as comfortable as possible! Great quality food and live music in the bar. Elevator moves in mysterious ways.
