I had a wonderful experience during my stay! The breakfast was delicious with a wide variety of options, including fresh fruits, hot dishes, and great coffee – something for everyone. The room was spotless, spacious, and very comfortable, with modern amenities like high-speed Wi-Fi, a cozy bed, and a beautiful view from the balcony. It truly felt like a home away from home. The location was perfect – centrally located with easy access to public transport, restaurants, and major attractions. Despite being close to everything, the area was peaceful and quiet at night. Overall, a fantastic place to stay – I would definitely come back and recommend it to others!

AC and Wi-Fi were not working properly, which made things inconvenient. However, the night staff was not supportive when we raised issues, which was disappointing. With better service and maintenance, this place could offer a much better experience.

Speke is in a great location, and the rooms were nice with their historic charm. Breakfast was buffet style and good, albeit repetitive. Ugandan food was missing. The Indian restaurant attached to the hotel is just amazing. There used to be a live music club which has been closed down. I was looking forward to that and hopefully management will find a way to reopen it.

The first room I got was at the back and somewhat detached from the main building. I didn't like the room and asked to move to the front.

Staff is very supportive and friendly. Airport pickup was on time and I felt safe. Breakfast is very nice. I like the rooms, furniture is nice, beds are comfortable.

Only cold water in the shower. Reception said I must let it run for 5-6 minutes and it would get warm. This was not only water waste but it also did not work - water stayed cold. It is noisy in the evening and night.

The location is very central and very convenient for the business traveller. I enjoyed the walking distance to most essential places in Kampala.

There is need for maintenance like the creaking wooden floor. Improved variety for breakfast would be a plus. The noise from the road was not an issue for me but some residents may find it problematic.

Stay at the Speke Hotel regularly. Great ambience and good value in th middle of Kampala. Staff helpful, nice quiet room . Car parking. Works very well. excellent breakfast al fresco. Wifi good too

Nothing really. Seems a shame to have to run the shower fir hot water to come. Once it arrives it is fine

I stay at least 8 times a year at the Speke and use it as my base when going in and out of Uganda. The original hotel which is vey good value and big rooms. They know me well and give the rooms I request. Food good and love sitting outside for breakfast. Has car parking and very convenient

Enjoyed the 1920’s feel, excellent staff, breakfast buffet very good choices, evening menus offered a wide choice. Shower in room 124 was lovely and hot and bed comfortable.

As you would expect with a 1920’s building, electric points in the rooms are minimal and no points near the bed for phone chargers, but we managed. Weekend at the hotel was peaceful but road noise during a weekday is intrusive.

Location is great. One can walk anywhere. It is very safe. Breakfast is good. Caters for all creeds. But there is room for improvement. The rooms are clean and spacious for a 100 year old hotel.

The towels are clean but could use an overhaul. Depending on the room one gets, it can be noisy especially in the weekend when there is activity at the Sheraton Hotel across the road, otherwise the hotel itself is quiet,

Almost everything. I stay there every time I am in Kampala. Suits me well. Location, staff room. They give me the one I asked for. I always arrive late due to flights from UK and they are ready and helpful. Porter is just great. Nice big room with shower in quiet area. I love the Speke Hotel

Breakfast was rather slow . I wanted to be away so arrived just before 7 am and unusually everything not ready. Got there in the end but other guests too waiting for things to be ready

Everything went well.

The only disappointment was when I asked for a Beer glass to be given in the room the waiter told me that they cannot provide the beer glass. He was diplomatically rude. The hotel needs to look into it. He also added that the management has given strict instructions, which i know is false.
