Nice place. Good location. Excellent staff. Very very helpful and patient especially with someone like me who does not understand a word of Spanish. The staff at the reception - every one of them - went out of their way to guide me, my first time in Brazil and Rio. I wish I remembered their names, so that I could mention it here. Thank you everyone. I had moved to Ibis from another place that I had booked through Booking.com because that first place - where I spent my first night in Rio - was very inadequate and did not meet my expectations at all. The move to Ibis - even though I had to pay twice over for my stay in Rio - was well worth it. Ibis was what I had in mind in Rio.

Nothing at all. But if I am compelled to mention anything at all, I will say that some of the waiters at the restaurant where they serve breakfast etc. could be a shade better behaved. Perhaps they were over-worked. Or could not answer me because of language barriers. But they left me feeling let down.

Good location for Carnival, close to Carioca metro station and a 1/2 hour mostly pleasant walk to the Sambodromo. During Carnival, due to traffic, driving won't get you to the sambodromo much faster BTW. Right across the street from a local park with carnival festivities ... but, during Carnival, that's true of most of Rio. Friendly staff. Decent buffet in the restaurant.

The restaurant had food, but seemed to be out of most alcohol. So, no caipirinhas. Not a lot of very close outside restaurants / grocery stores / bars. No amenities other than the restaurant: no pool, gym, laundry facility, lounge / dedicated bar.

I stayed at the Ibis centro for one week during the carnival and I find the location really convenient. It is quite close to the metro station, the main street where street carnivals were organized, the weekend market, and many good places to eat and to see. Good breakfast and lunch & dinner offers are quite reasonable. Two ironing rooms in the hotel.

Bring bath gel with you because only shampoo and hand cleansing gel are provided.

- Really comfortable bed - Friendly staff - Restaurant downstairs a convenient option, if not a bit overpriced - Good location for the city centre, about 15 minute walk to Lapa and to Carioca metro station and 5 minute walk to some cool bars like Scenarium. Never felt especially unsafe in the area.

- Price was a bit high for what it is, although this was probably due to it being Carnaval

the staff. the staff. the staff. terrific . very helpful. the location is pretty good with a 10 minute walk to the underground. if staying in this hotel there are taxi outside but make sure they use the meters. but a sort walk and you will find all the minor things to see. but the major ones you need public transport. a bit of home wprk will be well worth it.

The staff was super friendly and helpful. The check-in and out was quick. Despite the hotel being simple the room was sparkly clean and quiet.

Even tough the location is near to everything, the nearest metro station was Carioca, the pathway to the station was not that safe during the night. But everything is reachable by Uber or taxi. The prices ended up being very cheap considering the location of the hotel (since it is near to everything).

Great location for budget travelers, just 5/10 minutes walk to the the train station. The streets are VERY QUIET at night but at the time I was there it was Carnaval time so it was different.

Don’t feel safe at night because it’s Central of RJ so very quiet at night

It is an older type of hotel that provides standard comfort. The room was clean, cleaning every day.

I was missing a filter device for drinking water. In many hotels, it is available in common areas so that guests can pour filtered water into a bottle whenever they need it.

Good breakfast and central location. There is a metro station near to the hotel so it's easy for travelling around Rio de Janeiro.

The rooms are old and have to be renovated.

Clean bedroom and clean bathroom. The location is walkable to the tourist attractions. Appreciation for the lovely staffs, we love that we can keep our luggage after checkout and the staffs are really nice! Thank you!
