Lovley spacious room with a very comfortable bed and clean and spacious ensuite

It could just be my room, but the WIFI was terrible and only worked in the corridor. The curtains did not cover the window fully as the hanging rod was too short and It was difficult to keep the window open without a prop

The reception was friendly and helpful. The room was clean. The location of the hotel was excellent. The bed was comfortable. The hotel has "old world" charm and character and is the opposite of a "chain" which we love.

The furniture is a little dated, and the carpets in the communal areas need updating. The decoration could do with an update too, but the rooms are okay. The shower was a little small for a big guy like me, but for the price I wasn't expecting the Savoy or the Ritz so "be reasonable" people! Parking is free IF you get there early enough but public car parks are only a two minute walk away and are free overnight from 7pm until 8am. Some on street parking is also available for shorter time.frames. There doesn't seem to be a lift in the hotel so not great for the elderly or disabled.

The hotel was excellent value. The room was clean and comfortable, check-in easy and the location in the middle of town. There was free parking in the courtyard at the rear.

This is a budget hotel - essentially you get the room, bathroom, tv, wifi and the ability to make a cup of tea or coffee. Within those parameters everything was great - the room was clean and spacious for one person. Free parking is v useful although spaces are limited. Things to note: you need to sort your own breakfast (there's a Costa just down the street, and other cafes), there's no lift, and no communal areas. The Italian restaurant (separate business) does good food. If you're looking for a hotel that's reasonably priced in an area where most hotels cost rather more, this is a good bet.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at The George Hotel Battel, and I can't recommend it highly enough. From the moment I arrived, I was struck by the warm and welcoming atmosphere. The room was beautifully appointed, but what truly stood out was the bed. It was, without a doubt, one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in. I had a wonderfully restful night. Furthermore, the cleanliness of the room, bathroom, and all public areas was absolutely top-notch. It's clear that the hotel takes great pride in maintaining high standards. The combination of superb comfort, exceptional cleanliness, and excellent service makes The George Hotel Battel a definite 5-star experience. I look forward to returning!

Location is extremely convenient being central on Battle high street. Choose room at rear if possible because the high street traffic can be intrusive. Free parking is a very welcome bonus. Gentleman JD was very caring when I asked for extra bedding, he provided additional quilt and offered/delivered a heater -it was very cold during my visit. I really appreciated the kind thought. There is no lift. I was offered and shown 2 options as a solo traveller. I chose the third floor for the view over the higgledy piggledy rooftops of old Battle. Also a lot of lovely shops and eateries close by so I didn't miss the lack of breakfast or bar. There is a fab Italian restaurant on site - I had the seafood linguine- another bonus because the staff were very kind and attentive. I met with family and we all had a lovely time there. I suggest you try it. Cleanliness is top and every basic need is catered for including tea, coffee and shower necessities.

Can't say I didn't like anything quite honestly. I hope to visit Battle regularly and this is a great budget option.

The location was ideal and met my needs, Parking was easy and the member of staff at reception was very helpful and polite. The room was adequate for my needs, clean, with an on suite bathroom, TV Coffee /Tea making facilities and a heater. There was a socket within reach of the bed for my CPAP machine and the room was nice and quiet. I would use the property again, should the need arise.

This is an old hotel with lots of character and very good as long as you can cope with the stairs. There was nowhere to get breakfast as the restaurant was only open in the evening.

The George Hotel is a beautiful period property, that is a little dated. She is what she is and the price reflects that, so do expect imperfections and quirks. We have stayed on several occasions now and the rooms are clean, bedding fresh, showers hot and the beds are comfortable. Addie on the reception desk is friendly, always extends a warm welcome and is there to ensure your stay is the best that it can be. He opens the window for us and turns off the heating as we don’t like heated bedrooms. We used the fan on our last visit and it was surprisingly quiet. The George is centrally located on the High Road and there are so many different options for breakfast, dinners and drinks that you will be spoilt for choice. I can highly recommend the Thai Orchid restaurant accessed via The GH carpark - every mouthful was delicious. If you really love coffee, don’t waste your time going anywhere other than the Coffee House at Number 80 - I had the most amazing oat latte with four shots of espresso! Yum.

The Wifi signal was strong and the connection secured. I have VPN but it is good to see a secure connection. The room was very clean and the sheets excellent. The shower pressure was good and the water was hot. There was a fan in the room, although I didn't need to use it despite the high temperatures outside. The hotel room was very quiet and there was no light pollution. I slept very well. The Manager at reception was very pleasant. There is a decent amount of on-sight private parking for guests at the back of the hotel. Location is great.

The decor was a just a little dated, but it doesn't claim to be a 5 star hotel, so I wouldn't really say it is a problem as the hotel felt very well managed and clean.

The George Hotel is in a perfect location right in the heart of Battle, everything you'd like to see such as the Abbey is a short walk away and the room itself was incredible value for money considering the location. Very welcoming and helpful staff, a very pleasant stay.

The room itself was very spacious, comfortable and modern, however the bathroom lighting looked a bit suspect with loose, open wiring hanging right beside the walk in shower.
