My daughter and I were attending a gig at the White Rock Theatre which is next door to the hotel. The room at the hotel was fine with a great sea view. The beds were very comfortable and the walk in shower was excellent. Throughout our stay the staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were really enjoyable and served by very pleasant staff. The location of the hotel is virtually opposite the pier and with easy access to the beach and town. It was a very pleasant stay and I would definitely return in the future.
The only small negative was that some of the room furniture appeared somewhat well used and could perhaps be upgraded. But this really wasn’t much of an issue.

We were really happy with our one night stay at the White Rock Hotel, we just wished we could have stayed longer. The hotel was in an excellent location, facing the beach and opposite the pier, as was our room. It was also right next door to the Theatre we were attending. The hotel was spotlessly clean throughout and our room was lovely and comfortable with everything we needed. The bed was great and the shower perfect, both of these very important to us wherever we stay. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming, especially reception and the restaurant/bar staff. Thank you White Rock Hotel.
Nothing really. Maybe a lick of paint here and there, but the welcome and attitude of the staff more than made up for that.

Location was perfect for us because we were visiting to see a friend's band, playing in the cellar bar. Generally, the hotel is endearingly old-fashioned and quirky, keeping many old features. The bathroom was very modern, though some other elements are showing wear and tear, and slight neglect, or just looked a bit cheap, and could do with updating. Breakfast was very good value. Parking was limited at the back, and we just missed a space but were able to use the complimentary car park nearby (voucher given by reception). We were able to use the car park the next morning after check-out, and reception kindly said we could stay a bit after 12 to meet friends for coffee on the beach. Overall, for the price we paid it was very good value.
A larger car park. Slightly more modern fixtures in the rooms in particular.

Clean room with 2 comfy double beds Clean white good linen Complimentary water, tea, coffee, tea, cookies - in room Nice clean bathroom with ample storage and shampoo/shower gel dispenser also shower caps Was a rear facing room but the plants on the back wall helped make the view of the wall more pleasant 2 bedroom windows and a bathroom window so good light and ventilation Nice breakfast with 20% discount for hotel guests We didn't have dinner at the hotel but had cake for dessert one evening which was nice. Nice bar and lounge area downstairs for after dinner drinks/games etc Excellent location on the seafront near the pier, for easy walking along the seafront, to the attractions, restaurants, train stations, shopping. Free parking - once you found a spot you could stay there for days and just walk to attractions. There is an elevator from lobby to rooms
bathroom towel hooks or rail for hanging towels thin walls - don't talk too loudly no lift from parking area to lobby so travel light

Early Spring weekend. Premium king room with Juliet balcony and patio doors and overbath shower. Wonderful views with comfortable chairs perched in front of the doors. Superb watching and relaxing. Great whilst the sun was shining. This visit was also a windy weekend watching the waves crash. Don't know if I would like that room location when people are sat out on the terrace smoking and drinking, maybe a bit smelly and noisy. Check out was 12 noon, excellent. Free car parking behind the hoteal if you get there at a reasonable time.
The hot drink facilities were rather bland and were located in a cupboard without a light. I spilt boiling water in the tiny, dark drinks recess. Rather a petty fault to mention but otherwise it was faultless.

breakfast was good , well priced with a discount and no long wait , open 7-11.00 so that was good , no need for an early rise . great location on the front , not to far from old hastings and 10 minute walk to train station , room was a good size , tea , coffee , water supplied , so all good .
Wi Fi signal was poor on the terrace .

Very welcoming from the owners to the staff, a friendly and comfortable place to stay with a simple but generous home-cooked menu, very pleasant public spaces - including the terrace if the weather permits - to while away a few hours. Best suited to an older clientele perhaps but we love it and will be back. Also, without quibble - and on the day - the owners refunded the final night as we were called home early due to family illness. It was very short notice, so they wouldn’t have been able to let the room out that night. Also they set up large TV in the conference room at our request, to watch the Euros.

The Hotel is on the sea front and next door to the white rock theatre were we attended an event. This is the best hotel for this purpose and highly recommended. The room was spacious with two double bed so our stay was highly enjoyable. Also we managed to have a space in the the free car park at the back which was a massive bonus. All staff were very friendly and willing to help whether we asked anything.
The building is several Victorian houses linked together so it still has the old style narrow corridors and staircases.

Most dog friendly place we've ever stayed. You will not be disappointed.
All day menu listed as available 11am. On Sunday at 11am, on requesting it, I was warned there would be a wait due to the change over from the breakfast menu. Fair enough, but I was still waiting for her to come back to me at 12 noon so that I could order. I gave up at that point and ordered from Just Eat instead. We also used Just Eat that night. I think the availability time for the all day menu requires tweaking.

I absolultely loved my stay at The White Rock Hotel. I'd go back there in a second. It was a great price for the location, being literally right across the beach and from the pier! My room had a queen-sized bed, which was perfect for just me, and the room was spotless, clean and comfortable. The bathroom was spacious and super clean, and the water pressure was strong and perfect. The weather in late May is blustery and rainy, so don't be surprised by that if you're new to Hastings or your visiting from somethere other than the UK. That said, you can enjoy a nice meal inside the hotel while looking out at the ocean from inside the dining area. AND, it was quiet in my room despite the concerts taking place across the street at the pier. The staff were incredibly kind, helpful and personable. This might end up being the place I stay at every time I visit Hastings from San Francisco. It's a lovely place, and you're within 15 min walking distance to either St. Leonard's-On-Sea or Old Town Hastings. Fabulous!
The only thing I'd say I didn't like (which really wasn't that much of an issue) was that the room didn't have a small fridge in it to keep water cold. I just went to the little market next door to buy cold water in the mornings but it would have been nice to store some bottled water in a fridge. That isn't a showstopper for me, however. When in England, do as the English!
