Good view of sea, lovely bathroom, fabulous staff. Location good. Very nice breakfast, fresh and delicious.

Didn't think about steep stairs to third floor and no lift ! But we did actually change to a room on the second floor. There was a small step to get into the bathroom, with a sign, mind the step. I saw the sign as I grazed my foot on the step. My husband hurt his toe on it when going to the bathroom at night. The lovely receptionist was able to provide an abundance of plasters. The TV was troublesome; the wifi seemed to stop and we couldn't watch the end of our programme.

The staff were very friendly and happily gave information about the area. There's no lift in the hotel, but signs indicate someone will carry luggage to or from the rooms. Indeed, we were offered the service when we checked in. The room I had was at the front of the hotel, with a sea view. The road was quiet enough at night that I could have the window open. There was ample storage for clothes in a cupboard and a small set of drawers, and plenty of shelf space in the bathroom. The location was perfect, being on the seafront but only 10 minutes walk from the bus and train station. There were plenty of eateries in the area, but I can definitely recommend the hotel breakfast.

The friend I was travelling with had a room that overlooked the town, which was too noisy to have the window open at night, so the room was a bit stuffy. Also, the bedside lamp didn't work. (Apparently, this was a known problem and they were waiting on delivery of the replacement.) Being quite particular about pillows, the ones in my room weren't entirely to my liking, but not such that I didn't get good sleep.

I recently stayed at The Lansdowne Hotel in Hastings, and I was pleasantly surprised by how much I got for the price. The location is unbeatable, right on the seafront, just a short walk from the train station and the Old Town. My room had a lovely sea view, and I could hear the waves crashing as I drifted off to sleep. The bed was comfortable, and the shower had good pressure. The staff were friendly and helpful, making check-in and check-out a breeze. Breakfast was tasty, with a good selection of options. Overall, The Lansdowne offers great value for money, especially considering its prime location and the comfort it provides. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in Hastings.

We were 2 friends travelling and booked two single rooms. The rooms were on the 4th floor and the lift was out of order or broken. The stairs are steep and I don't recommend these rooms for people who are unfit. Luckily we were ok. The rooms were clean, tidy, had tea and coffee facilities , the bed was bigger than a single ( perhaps very small double). The shower worked well and the bathroom was small but functional. The hotel is old but has the most amazing view and is exactly on the seafront. I think that it was good value for the money.

The stairs....

Location, balcony, cleanliness, sea view

Bedside lamp didn't work, curtains didn't fit the window and hem was falling down. When I left my luggage after checkout, it was just left in an area open to anyone passing by so wasn't secure and I ended up having to carry around most of my stuff anyway. The reception didn't tend to have anyone there so I couldn't report fault with light until checkout. Limited choice of drinks with kettle. Room quite chilly as radiator didn't seem to heat up. Towel was quite small - okay for me as I'm only 5 ft 3, but would be very small for anyone else taller. Sounds travelled between rooms - I could hear every word from the room next door.

The hotel was in a brilliant location, right on the front near everything . The hotel is absolutely lovely as you approach the exterior is fresh and clean. We were given an upgraded room to what we had . The staff were so friendly and welcoming. The room was amazing. so clean and spacious . I would definitely head straight here for my next stay!!

It's not so much as I didn't like as everything about staying here was 10/10 . But the stairwells are the only bit that as you climb them it's all a little bit tired which made us worry about the room . But when we opened our door our reaction was WOW!!!

Great value for money for a wonderful seaview. The lady at reception was very helpful and gave me a very early check in as the room was ready which was nice. The bathroom was great.

It's a sonewhat dated English seaside independent hotel so some facilities were strained and there was a little dust around, but this is a charm in itself. Perfect for anyone short-term or if you're a frequent budget traveller.

Room was immaculate, nicely decorated and after the initial outside of the building the room was a pleasant surprise. Really nice inside with great view and really nice interior. Radiator plus oil filled radiator if you get cold, and a fan if it was too hot. Smart TV, good free wifi, decent size balcony and parking nearby. Really good stay and will stay again.

The outside of the building and public spaces weren't as clean/fresh/smart as the room but that doesnt matter really as the room was excellent - The bathroom had a small step up once you opened the door which was an issue during the night, but not that important really as the room/bathroom was excellent. TV could do with more freeview or more channels but it was a smart TV with added extras there which more than made up for that. No complaints really, room was excellent and would definitely stay again.

The hotel is in a perfect location, 5 minutes from the town centre, 10 minutes from the train station and right on the sea front. The room itself was comfortable, the staff were friendly, and despite it being on the sea front and main road, it was quiet.

the hotel does need the halls to be redecorated and a working lift as it’s not accessible for those with mobility issues

I was pleasantly surprised to see that my single room had a sea view! Usually, the single rooms are dark broom cupboards but here it was different. Clean hotel with a very nice staff. I happened to visit when there were issues with water in Hastings area due to burst pipe but the staff did everything they could to make the inconvenience bearable.

Just a small thing that my room was on the 4th floor and I don’t think that the hotel has a lift. It wasn’t a problem for me but it may be problematic for someone with mobility problems or heave luggage.
