The location was just right for a halfway stop on a visit to Scotland. A plus was that we were able to visit Bakethin Nature Reserve and Kielder Forest

The latest checking time was stated as 6 pm, but as we were running late, I rang to ask if we could arrive later. No problem at all we were told, just give us a call on arrival, and we will come to meet you. We arrived around 6:45 and after a quick phone call we were met in the car park by a very pleasant lady (ive forgotten her name) and we were promptly shown to our room. The room was absolutely gorgeous, tastefully decorated and furnished, spotlessly clean ( and I mean, really clean throughout). The bathroom was the same, IMMACULATE!. The beds were very comfy, the linen was crisp and clean, and we had a great night sleep. Breakfast was really good quality, tasty and hot. Could not find any fault with any aspect of our stay.

Nothing.

Outstanding accommodation, service and location. The pictures truly do not do the room justice. Immaculately clean, modern and comfortable facilities. The bed was very comfortable and we had a fantastic nights sleep. The staff were exceptionally friendly and hospitable. The breakfast was also of a great quality and the menu had something for everyone. The room was well supplied with towels toiletries, tea/coffee making facilities and had a smart TV. There was also an information sheet which provided recommendations on near by restaurants and activities. The B&B has an easily accessible car park and is situated nearby shops and a bus stop. We originally booked the B&B due to its close proximity to Kielder Observatory. However, we plan to book again in the summer for hiking due to how much we enjoyed our stay.

Not a bad thing to add! Truly wonderful stay, thank you.

This was our 2nd stay, and we absolutely love the place. Even with all of Bellingham loosing power and phone signals for about 18 hours, our stay at Fountain Cottage wasn’t spoiled in any way. Michael, Danielle and staff were amazing throughout. We were extremely touched with our little delivery and kind note left at our door the evening of the power cut. Breakfast was different but really lovely, it’s nice to see everyone pull together in such a beautiful community when things like this happen. Anyhow when we arrived home we were chatting about our next visit in 2026 but decided to book again for September this year.

Nothing.

Fantastic 2 night stay at Fountain Cottage. Highlights: Staff - Warm and welcoming, super friendly and happy to restock anything we needed for the room. Room - We had a double room with jacuzzi bath. The room was spacious, spotlessly clean with loads of storage. Bathroom was gorgeous. Nice powerful shower and loved having the jacuzzi bath with the TV. Location - Plenty of nice walks and places to eat within walking distance. Breakfast - quality breakfast. Really enjoyed it.

Would prefer a much firmer mattress.

Nicely decorated and very cosy. Bathroom was amazing including the big spa bath. Breakfast was 10/10! Big portions and alongside cooked breakfast had some cereal and fruit as options. Mattress was to die for! Really soft and comfortable. There was a box as you went up the stairs with some games you could take to your room,, so we had a fun time playing guess who! Really lovely stay and a really great price for you what you got. Would definitely recommend

only one radiator turned on - but tbh the room got hot REALLY fast so in a way, didn't need both on. Had some issues with the spa bath. Never used one before and sometimes some of the jets turned off and sometimes couldn't get back on. But was still enjoyable anyway. Pillows were a little bit hard but that's personal preference but didn't interfere with sleep too much.

Parking on site. Easy check. Warm greeting . Upstairs room accesed by gentle raised staircase.Shown to room and house rules explained. Good wi fi connection. Lovely appointed room at front of building. Decent sized room with comfy bed. Modern bathroom with walk in shower.Exceptionally clean. Tea and Coffe making facilities. Breakfast choices excellent and food quality excellent. Staff all friendly.

In the room there was a modern sofa which was too low to sit on.

The room was exceptionally clean and spacious with everything you need for a relaxing break. Plenty of information about the local area. Plates and cutlery were provided on the landing if you needed them for a takeaway, everything had been well thought out. Slept really well. The staff were so polite, friendly and helpful. We had cake and a brew, the cake was absolutely gorgeous. Breakfast was amazing, we would definitely stay again!

Could not fault anything.

Lovely spacious room with excellent facilities. Welcoming host. The breakfast on offer was more than adequate, nicely cooked and presented, although staff didn't seem prepared in time for the 08.00 serving. However, front of house was pleasant and helpful.

I understand that the cafe is "dog-friendly", and whilst this isn't a problem for us, not everyone likes to have a dog present whilst they are eating breakfast. Perhaps thought should be given to better segregation between guests and dog walkers at meal times.

Warm and cosy room on arrival. I was too late to get a cake and coffee in the cafe but sure made up for it the next day. Danielle and Michael do everything to accommodate your comfort. Later in the evening we had a bit of an issue with hot water. They were able to fix a solution with a spare room to enable a luxury spa bath. I get the feeling that firstly there is unlikely to be an issue but when faced with an issue they'll do their best to fix it.

Nothing to say here they are nailing good quality hospitality.
