Outstanding, simply top draw... first class in every way. Charming place, beautifully kept character property with much detail in keeping and sympathetic to this old place. Immaculately kept, food, beer was amazing so were too the staff. Credit to you all, you made a factatic top marks place even better. I travel a lot and its not often I'm so blown away I take so many pics. Hence. And yes.... my food was as good as it looked, even tho I took it whilst eating it, it was so good I had to take a picture. Breakfast was also outstanding. You will not be disappointed here, I will try and come again. Incidentally, the Brewery Mauldons is not far away if you like the beer and want a quick tour or just just buy a case of mixed beers to try at home. Would recommend that also....

The rooms were lovely, plenty of space, good water pressure - always important. N Espresso machine in the rooms, good tv. The staff are lovely, so friendly and attentive. The food for the evening is a good choice, has unusual ingredients and flavours. Breakfast, Great choice of local produce, eggs cooked to your liking. Good service from the team there. Plenty of car parking available The hotel is apparently haunted, sadly we did not see the original ghost, but we did see a Friendly ghost 💕😂we stayed in room 8 which is lovely

Lovely old building with beautiful and comfortable communal areas and room. From the moment we arrived the we were made to feel welcome and valued guests. Without exception all the staff were friendly, attentive and efficient but unobtrusive, and appeared to take pride in doing their job well. The hotel was spotlessly clean. There were real Xmas trees dotted around the hotel which gave it a lovely Xmas feel without being over the top. Food was beautifully presented and delicious. There was plenty of parking available behind the inn. Would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Great location for historic places such as Lavenham and the market town of Sudbury. Surrounded by countryside and small villages. Ideal for driving on the almost empty roads. Very comfortable bed and the room had character as part of the old inn, but modernised to a high standard. Very large bathroom with shower over the bath. Quiet at night. Good breakfast. Would recommend as a base for exploring the local area.

The bar area and most of the ground floor is mainly set out for dining, and busy during the evening, so if you are only having a drink there is the option of a smaller room at the back of the bar or an outside courtyard space.

Everything you would want for a couples or friends get away with great surroundings, food and drink. Great staff very friendly and efficient. Breakfast was awesome and staff were too

The food was exceptional but after spending a long travel and then a full working day I would have hoped for a more substantial meal. The ala carte only option needs to be more flexible. Not after the run of the mill flaming grill or premier inn microwave rubbish but a full plate would have topped this excellent stay off. Would have been happy to pay more for the option but if not would have ordered two plates full

The property is a beautifully maintained and renovated 500 year old building and lovely, expansive gardens. Easy parking, warm welcome by staff, great room! The room was spacious, and had everything we needed (including a coffee machine and homemade shortbread). The included breakfast was amazing - all fresh, hot and tasty. We also had a drink in the bar late at night (missed dinner due to other commitments) and that was fun. Large, comfy bed, too!

The inn is a beautiful place and we loved the bare floors, open fireplace and how it has retained much of its old-world charm. Also, the room was lovely, as were the grounds, along with the fact that Bildeston itself is located within easy reach of many lovely places in Suffolk. I think the food deserves a mention too - very good indeed. Finally, I'd also like to comment on the professionalism and manners of the staff, all of whom conveyed appropriate respect and care towards us, which is something we really noticed and liked. Well done!

We had a truly terrific weekend at The Crown Inn, Bildeston. From the moment we arrived, we were enveloped in a wonderful ambience that set the tone for our stay. The inn combines charm and comfort effortlessly, making it an ideal escape. The staff were super thoughtful, friendly, and professional, going above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. Their genuine warmth and attentiveness made us feel truly welcome and well-cared-for. The food was nothing short of fabulous. Each meal was a delightful experience, showcasing fresh, locally sourced ingredients and culinary expertise. The flavours and presentation were exceptional, making dining at The Crown Inn a highlight of our stay. We will undoubtedly be back to enjoy more of this delightful inn.

Room was large and the bed comfortable. Breakfast was great. Parking was easy and free. Staff were very helpful, especially George who was brilliant. Lift was useful as we had heavy cases.

Bar area was small, drinks were expensive. The room was over £200 per night which is on the high side. It's in the middle of no-where so not many local attractions. Not good system for coming in late at night. Need to ring a number on the door and someone lets you in, except in our case the person didnt come down and we had to shout and another guest was kind enough to let us in.

We had a friendly welcome at reception, which set the tone and there was a very relaxed atmosphere during our stay. Our room was warm and comfortable, just right. As we were celebrating our joint birthdays, it was lovely that staff had taken note and we enjoyed our complimentary drinks at the bar. Dinner was exceptional, as was the breakfast. We had a fab stay, mixed with some local walks. We will be back !
