We stayed here for one night (Sunday) The hotel is conveniently located close to the centre of Bury st Edmunds and next to the Abbey Gardens. The carpark is a decent size and we could park just outside of our room too. The rooms are all out side by the pub in an old barn conversion. The room was immaculately presented, lovely comfortable big bed, air con, all the usual amenities too. Plus a big bathroom with a bath. The team are super helpful and friendly and the food was delicious, lunch and breakfast. The beer garden is also great and has full sun. Glorious! We even asked If we could keep our car there after checkout while we did some more shopping. Not a problem! Very impressive and will be staying again! Thanks again!

The room was very nice and spacious, nicely decorated and clean, we had everything we needed, a nice comfortable bed, and also a nice day bed / sofa. TV, big bathroom and was nice and warm, tea, coffee making facilities, water, ect, and a bag of shortbread biscuits, parking available outside your room. Another good idea was that they offer guests staying a 20% discount on Lunches & evening meals. The pub itself is 15th a century building and has bags of character and charm.
The Pub itself is in real need of decoration, there's paint coming off the walls inside & out and the toilets are smelly and didn't seem very clean, a real letdown in my opinion, I hate a place with dirty Toilets, it's all a bit tired ? 🫤 I also felt that some of the staff were not very welcoming and didn't seem very approachable. The cooked Breakfast was nice, but i felt it was a bit expensive £12 p.p. We weren't asked how we wanted our eggs cooked, the continental Breakfast wasn't laid out on the table as the instructions on the menu leaflet stated, and we had to keep asking for the items from it, cereals, ect. This was particularly difficult as the waitress kept disappearing. We were served a warm croissant with my cooked Breakfast, but no Jams ect available on the table.

So convenient right near theAbbey, Cathedral and quaint cobbled shopping streets. Staff were lovely. Room was in converted barn and fantastic. Pub itself was historic atmospheric and food was lovely
There was a noise started early in morning that sounded like a jet engine. When we spoke to the staff they said it was a neighbouring business that had been told not to start outside business hours. This was not the staff or hotels fault and i felt cross that everything was perfect and some business could be son inconsiderate even though the hotel hadcomplained before. But it didnot go on too long and i would still definitely stay here again.

A very welcoming stay. Staff were lovely. The room was impressive too. Clean with some extra touches; heated underfloor in the bathroom and great heating controls in the room. Very spacious too and the room had all the info you need in hotel room.
There could have been a few more pillows but really that's a small issue. Also, there was a router attached to the vaulted ceiling which flashes all the time. Slightly disturbs your sleep, especially if you want it dark. They can solve by just placing a cover of sorts over it, I'm sure.

The perfect pub (with rooms) Superb atmosphere, great food and faultless service. Nothing too much trouble. I own my own B&B so am normally a very fussy customer. Rooms are really well considered and high spec (air conditioning, heated floor, electric velux etc etc). Parking is free and directly outside the rooms (which are in the converted barns). For a town centre location the rooms are quiet. Spotlessly clean and very comfortable bed. Powerful shower with thoughtful touches such as the demisting mirrors. Beautifully lit and really well appointed. Very highly recommended.

Wet room was excellent although, as we are not disabled, the shower seat and sink were a little low. Bed was comfortable but a better choice of pillows maybe could have helped. Adam was superb and seemed to be permanently working. Food was great despite it being very busy (Valentines weekend)
Room getting a bit tired now but understand they are going to be refurbished in the next few months, telly a bit small. Unable to close roof blind but found there were no batteries in the controller.

Lovely check in with Claire and Amy, they were fab the whole time we were there. Thanks for returning David's phone!!! The room was lovely, massive bed with crisp linen. Everything you could want was there. Breakfast was served by Adam who was equally fab, reserved us a table for the rugby, did breakfast both days which was lovely. Really good ingredients. The pub is very close to the centre, less than 5 mins. What a lovely place Bury is. Thanks!!!! Loved it.
Nothing.

The room was very comfortable although I was in town for a wedding so I did not spend much time in the room itself. The hotel is very well located with a short walk to the town centre. The shower facilities were excellent with all the amenities you would expect. The location itself was very quiet - it is close to a public car park but this is closed overnight.
The bed was a little harder than I would like but I slept well.

The room was excellent value for money. Attention was paid to every little detail. Modern furnishings with remote lighting dimmers, heating and air-conditioning options. Skylight King Size bed flanked by original features of the stables (I believe). HUGE modern bathroom. Tea and coffee facilities. Faultless! Additionally, parking right outside your door and the Pub within a few metres walking distance; what is not to like? Already booked another stay!
Food could be better. Mushroom starter was a measily six or seven tiny garlic breaded mushrooms tossing around an othwrwise empty plate. Overpriced.

Great friendly welcome, lovely warm clean comfortable room. Perfect location for the town. Have stayed here before as convenient for overnight stays if going to events in Bury. Staff are great, food is very good too. Parking next to rooms. Easy to walk round Bury for shops etc. Near the Abbey Gardens for walking and interesting historical places. Very happy with price, room, staff and food. Recommend, recommend, recommend.
Nothing to dislike.
