The Old Cannon Brewery is a place full of character, with a vibrant bar and restaurant. Good location only 10 mins walk from the centre of town. Our room overlooked the courtyard and was well appointed and comfortable. We had breakfast which was good, they had a good choice of food including cereal and yoghurt as well as traditional cooked breakfast. We did not eat dinner here, but what we saw looked good. As you would expect, there is a big choice of beer to be had!

Nothing we didn't like here, although our room was quite noisy being above the courtyard and bar area. But all was quiet after 11pm. The only other criticism would be lack of parking. there is street parking in the evening and overnight but on saturday when we stayed it was all taken. the railway station is only 10 mins walk away so arriving by train is a good option. There is parking in the main centre of town a short walk away too.

The room was lovely, i'm a returning customer The Old Cannon Brewery is my first choice when staying in Bury. the Beers/Als are great "Blondie" is a favourite of mine, room was spotless and bed was just right as someone who has back problems too soft can be an issue as well as too hard (goldy locks was a happy old soul). Now I don't stay anywhere to watch TV but it was an absolute touch when i turned on the tv and the channels where like being at home and not all over the shop if you know what i mean. breakfast was very yummy we had the eggs benedict

i had to go home but that got more to do with my boss the the Hotel :)

The location was great with only a few minutes stroll in to the town centre. Room was cosy, quiet and ample. The on street parking worked well for us, however a long stay car park is close by. The cooked breakfast was excellent, we didn’t eat an evening meal here. Loved the beer flight, gave me the opportunity to try out 6 beers while only consuming two pints. Outside seating area was lovely. Staff all very friendly and helpful. Great value for money. Would stay here again.

Forgot to ask where to leave room key when departing early, however Chef was at work so was able to leave with him.

Everything was good - our comfortable room was accessible up a separate flight of external steps in the back courtyard. The breakfast was generous and nicely cooked - likewise the evening meal we had on one of the three nights we stayed. A small problem on arrival with the bed arrangement was sorted swiftly and a temporary plumbing issue in the bathroom was attended to promptly. The staff were friendly and helpful and the location is quiet and near the station - only a short (10 min) walk and the same in the opposite direction to the centre. I would stay there again if in Bury St Edmunds in the future.

Nothing really. If I'm being super-critical I would say that the decor in our room was a little drab and could benefit from updating but it didn't materially affect our stay so would not deter me from staying there again.

We booked an overnight stay as we had arranged an evening out at the The Apex and from start to finish the pub and it's staff were amazing, we were met by the manager Hannah who showed us to our room and we were more than happy, the room was very cosy and warm with plenty of hot water in the bathroom, and was just across the forecourt to access the pub. The pub has a great atmosphere and my husband enjoyed the bitter and decided to purchase a 5 pint bag for our return home! The young lady who served us had a great personality and was very friendly. On the Tuesday we had a fantastic breakfast and the home made hash browns were wonderful, the breakfast was huge with a good selection and it was cooked to perfection so our compliments to the chef. All in all we had a great stay and would definitely book again, the pub was a short walk approx. 10 minutes into the town centre. 10/10.

Parking in Bury St Edmunds seems to be an issue generally, although there are plenty of car parks around but lots of resident parking too. The pub has a no parking bay outside until after 4pm and we were very lucky to have been able to find a space directly outside which was great, but don't let this put you off.

This is a gem of a property in Bury St. Edmunds close to the centre of town and in a fantastic brewery. We stayed 3 nights in a very comfortable room with a great bed. Everything we needed was there. The bar and restaurant whilst very busy had no impact on staying above it. It was very quiet. It is a fantastic place to stay with a fully cooked breakfast ncluded in the I the tarrif an absolute bonus

The stairs to the upstairs room were a little slippery after it rained. Car parking is a challenge.

Fantastic breakfasts including the made to order ‘Brewers breakfast’. We had really tasty dinners while we were there (the mushroom & Stilton mac’n’cheese with salad and also chicken’n’tarragon pie with mash & root vegetables) washed down with their fabulous real ales brewed on the premises. All the staff were very friendly and our room spacious and comfortable. The overhead shower was powerful with plenty of hot water. The hotel is nicely located midway between the railway station and the city centre.

We both found the wi-do was a little intermittent and there was a small leak from the fan in the bathroom otherwise everything else was excellent.

The bedroom was lovely and I had a huge bathroom with lots of hot water. The bed was comfortable and the area quiet - I had a good night's sleep! I ate in the bar in the evening and had a superb dinner. Breakfast the next morning had a good choice and was most enjoyable. I would definitely stay here again.

The bedroom was a little cool although, to be fair, the weather was cold and windy and the building is an old one. I had to order breakfast the night before and state a time. I arranged to be in the bar area for 8.15 (my time) but it was 8.45 before my cooked breakfast arrived. People came in after me and they appeared to be served first. Some of the bedrooms are up a narrow circular staircase which was a little tricky going down with a suitcase on my day of departure.

Room 1 was very nice. It is by the road but I wasn't disturbed by any traffic. Shower was good and bed was very comfortable. I stayed on a Monday night and the pub was still busy but comfortable. The beers are very good and great value if you live in London like me! Breakfast - which you have to pre order before 9pm - is very good. I had avocado and 3 poached eggs! Very impressive. Alongside cereal, yoghurt and juices. Very good.

Not much! It was £110 for the night but that included the good breakfast, so ok value for Bury St Edmunds

Amazing en-suite, spacious and powerful shower with hot water. Comfortable bed. Great choice at breakfast. Friendly helpful staff. Own beers served in bar. Good food.

Heating on a timer, first night was very cold and I slept with a cardigan on. Metal steps up to the room felt hard to climb. For 2 people drinks supplies were scant only 2 teabags, 1 hot chocolate and 1 packet of biscuits. Parking was unusual not being able to park at hotel until 4pm having to move the car on Saturday morning by 10am and then back after 4pm due to residents parking restrictions. No car parks local that offer 24 hour parking.
