Our hosts were absolutely delightful. Fantastic welcome on arrival. Nothing was too much trouble and they went out of their way to make sure every aspect of our visit was perfect. Our rooms (we booked two) were exceptionally clean, very comfortable, with every amenity and more. The attention to detail was really appreciated. We stayed 4 nights and each time we returned from our days excursion we found the room had been thoroughly cleaned and smelt so fresh with lovely fragrance from the flowers. The gardens were beautiful, very well maintained and again we could wander at will and sit and enjoy our drinks and nibbles in the lovely garden on the lawn, while looking back at the historic and very lovely building. Highlights - there were so many, but Breakfast is an absolute treat and I can honestly say you would not get better in a six or seven star establishment. Thank you so much to Kay and Doug for a truly memorable and thoroughly enjoyable stay.

Everything about it was wonderful. The suite was so comfortable, spotless and fabulous to look at. The garden was exceptional and we had full use of it throughout the stay. Kay and Doug are exceptional hosts and went out of their way to ensure the stay was memorable. Breakfast was excellent with great selection of fruit, yoghurts and croissants, plus full English cooked to perfection. And a great view of the garden and birds whilst eating! Furniture was all very comfortable and real home from home luxury. The history of the Inn was very interesting and made the stay even more special. Great location for seeing the surrounding villages and will definitely return.

Nothing at all, apart from a longer stay!

Just returned from a wonderful few nights at Greyhound cottage in Glemsford. Beautiful old building dating back to the 1400's with many original features and hosted by the wonderful Doug and Kay who couldn't do enough to make our stay even more special. Fabulous large suite with a huge comfy bed, seating area and great bathroom and shower. Great cooked breakfast with pastries, fruit, yoghurt and cereals all served overlooking their wonderful large garden. This is an absolute gem of a place that we will definitely be returning too. Thoroughly recommend, 5 stars

Nothing, all was perfect

One of the best places we've stayed & we'll definitely be returning. The Greyhound is in a quiet location, easy to find thanks to comprehensive instructions from the hosts, Doug & Kay and with an allocated parking space. The grounds are lovely, so peaceful and it was nice to be able to relax in the garden & do a little bird watching. We chose to stay in the suite & I would highly recommend. So spacious and the hosts really have thought of everything within the accommodation. The huge four poster bed was very comfortable & bedding had a lovely, fresh smell. Breakfast was really good; a nice continental selection along with a customisable cooked breakfast and even a wide selection of teas to choose from. We opted for the breakfast tea but we were spoilt for choice. The Greyhound is ideally located for visiting Suffolk; only a few minutes away from both Long Melford & Lavenham and we enjoyed finding out some of the history of the building itself. Doug & Kay are such good hosts. Really approachable, they aim to please & they achieved this so well for us. We booked on the basis of the glowing reviews we'd already read and it's a pleasure to be able to add our own high praise.

The hosts are so good at what they do & there was nothing we didn't like.

On my first morning I had to go out very early so they laid out everything I could possibly need on the table in my room, including milk and butter in a fridge, On my second morning I had a full English breakfast in my own private eating area with a view of the grounds . The meal was well cooked, my coffee topped up and the toast and marmalade just right. The food was good, the location was delightful and service splendid.

There was nothing at all to dislike, quite the opposite , If you read all the other reviews you will hear the same, but what I particularly liked was the attention to detail, those little things that make a big difference.

Not sure where to start but we loved every second of our stay, which was so memorable, relaxing and such a treat. From the moment we arrived, to the time we left, we were so well looked after, and nothing was too much trouble. We absolutely loved the two rooms we booked. Both were large with plenty of space and really delightful. Our hosts attention to detail in the rooms and bathroom, was incredible. Each day, both rooms and bathrooms were totally cleaned and refreshed. Breakfast was absolutely superb and such a treat for us all. I wish even the best hotels could take note of the delights served up by our hosts. Do try the exceptional full English - so delicious. We are now back to Muesli!!! We were blown away by the gorgeous gardens, and even though the weather was not that kind, we managed to enjoy drinks and nibbles and savour the fresh Suffolk air, the wonderful birdlife and quietness each evening on the lawn. Prior to our visit, our hosts sent us detailed notes on local restaurants & reliable taxi firms. We used this to book for the three nights and each venue and our taxi service more than met expectation. Whilst we loved Suffolk and had such a wonderful four days, nothing could beat the 7 x Star Greyhound Cottage experience. THANK YOU so much to Doug and Kay - truly masters of hospitality.

Everything we experienced was just superb - nothing could have been done better

Excellent breakfast beautifully served in our own dining room so we could eat and read the papers in peace - no requirement to make polite conversation as the occupants of the other room had their own very nice breakfast room- this was a big plus. Lovely building and wide ranging gardens with places to sit, Our hosts were kindness itself and we shall definitely rebook, perhaps for the larger suite on the ground floor as the access is easier. Kay and Doug ran their own hotel for many years and they know hospitality inside out.

Kay and I had a discussion about the rather small shower towels, but she has some larger ones available on request.

Absolutely fantastic B&B. Kay and Doug are wonderful hosts; very welcoming, friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We stayed in the Deluxe Suite. The bed was really big and comfortable. The room was very spacious and super clean. The seating area with the TV was very comfortable as well. There were extra electric heaters provided, in case you got chilly. The facilities were fantastic. Powerful shower too. We're going back in the Spring!

I have already reviewed this inn but Booking.com has applied the review to the wrong room, which makes nonsense of the review. I booked 2 rooms: Deluxe Suite and Deluxe King Room. After staying I received 2 identical emails from Booking.com. There was no way of telling which email applied to which room. So I had to guess. Unfortunately, it was for the wrong room. You need to make 2 corrections. First, apply my review to the Deluxe Suite. Second, change your review request emails to make clear which booking they refer to.

Lovely old house; great location; helpful and attentive hosts. The breakfast was good--with lots of moving parts--cereal and fruit; yogurts; breads; and the full English fry-up. The big hit here is the house, which is a beautiful half-timbered. early modern place. Our room was up some stairs and down a corridor but off by itself and quiet with a nice view of the sprawling well-tended garden. Clearly a lot of attention has gone into anticipating what guests might need and providing it--for example, toothpicks on the table. Everything seemed meticulously organized in support of visitors.

Our room was fairly cool but we chose not to turn on the two space heaters that were available.
