Staff were very friendly and food was excellent. Rooms were comfortable and well equipped. Parking was easily available at all times of the day either in the hotel private car park and outside the hotel. Local area Indian restaurant was also very enjoyable.
Would of liked a choice of a latte coffee at breakfast rather than an instant or filter coffee as it was available in the bar during the day. The private hotel lounge room (as we were told this for hotel guests) was overtaken by people who had booked for a private function so it became very busy for about an hour before they were taken to the function room.

For the price of the accommodation and breakfast I was utterly blown away. The staff and their attentiveness, was like that of somewhere that would cost twice as much. The choice of food, from breakfast through to their dining menu AND festive menu was fantastic, something for everyone! I felt very welcomed by all members of staff, and nothing was too much for them. Not to mention the beautiful period features throughout the hotel, with cosy nooks and crannies and fireplaces with plenty of seating for all.
It's not that I didn't like it but some people may not. Due to the age of the hotel, some things may seem outdated and mis matched. I understood this, and felt this actually helped with the character of the hotel.

We have stayed at the hotel a few times before and am really pleased to say that things haven’t changed . The rooms are spacious enough to move around in and are maintained well by the housekeeping staff. General staff are also very friendly. The food is consistently good both breakfast and dinner. Public rooms are comfortable and have that “Olde Worlde” feel and appearance which we love. The location of the hotel is excellent for days out visiting Bury St Edmunds, Sudbury, Cambridge, and out to Southwold on the coast. Long Melford itself is well worth a walk around with lovely tearooms and eateries within a short walking distance of the hotel. A great place to stay for a relaxing break.
Nothing that warrants a mention.

The room was very spacious and had facilities for putting our cases to unpack them, which was very good. Space to hang clothes and shelves to use. The bed was nice and large and plenty of chairs/sofa to sit on. The fan was on upon arrival and as it was very hot weather this was excellent. There were tea and coffee making facilities. Very comfortable overall.
A couple of small requests: - A tissue box in the bedroom would have been nice. - A light above the long mirror in the bedroom for those who are short-sighted and cannot see well enough without extra lighting for applying make-up. (Not possible to see clearly when having to lean over a basin or desk)! - 2 hand towels would have been better for a couple. - A handrail inside the bath for better stability as the base of the bath becomes a slippery when showering.

Breakfast was great with lots of options, we had a nice room and it was so convenient with the bar downstairs so we didn't have to go hunting for somewhere to eat in the evenings
The Bed was far too soft for my liking, but that's my personal opinion as I much prefer a firmer mattress. The rooms were also way too hot and it wasn't easy to turn the heating in the room down, but once we had it was fine, I just couldn't understand why all the corridors had the heating on full blast!!!!

We loved the age of the building and the original features. The bed was comfy and the food was amazing , the breakfast offering was so delicious
Our room was lovely and spacious and clean but there were a few small things we noticed like the mirror in the bathroom was tarnished, the front chrome cover was missing from the toilet roll holder and the extractor fan didn’t work in the bathroom. The furniture such as sofa and reading chair were a bit tired but functional The reading chair was very uncomfortable, a comfy armchair would have been more welcomed as you couldn’t really sit there and read for any length of time

It's not every day you get to stay in a building from the 1300s! I love old, historic properties like this, and Bull Hotel was no exception. The hotel is very charming and offers comfortable beds in spectacular surroundings. The staff was very friendly, and the breakfast was nothing short of amazing. I also had dinner there and the food was great! The location is very good for exploring Long Melford and nearby towns such as Sudbury, Bury St. Emunds and Lavenham by car or local bus. Great hiking possibilities, and close proximity to Melford Hall and Kentwell Hall. I'd definitely stay here again if I return to the area.
The rooms are a bit snug, but I just found it charming. The floors are rather squeaky, as one might expect from an old building such as this. At one point I thought my room was haunted, but then I understood that the squeaky floors I heard at night was from people moving in the room next door, haha. But nothing ear buds cant fix.

Long Melford is a pretty village, lots of interesting little shops, great place for antiques. Kentwell Hall and Melford Hall a short walk away. Beautiful hotel steeped in history. Food here is superb had dinner in the evening and the breakfast the following morning, coudn't fault it. All the staff we encountered were friendly and we were made to feel very welcome.
Our room although a superior room was at the front of the hotel near to the road which was constantly busy and noisy. Room was spacious including the bed, but the decor and furniture were disappointing and in desperate need of a revamp. Was expecting something a bit more grand. Room was a bit basic but clean and tidy, bed was nice and comfy though the thick duvet in warmer weather is certainly not needed.

It was a pleasure to stay in such a historic building. It's age was reflected in the room, with its irregular shape, low window, uneven and creaky floor (there were no guest rooms below, so I didn't worry about that.) The location is good, at the right end of the village for walking to the church and halls. There were bus stops outside for Sudbury, Lavenham, Bury and Clare. The staff were fine, though I didn't have much need to call on them. The room was clean, the water was always hot , the heating came on when needed and was adjustable. Traditional English breakfast was good. I might have tried the continental breakfast if it had included ham and cheese.
The room was poorly lit with a central recessed spot and a table lamp. It was difficult to read in bed and there was no space for a side table. The towel rail didn't come on - perhaps there was a switch that I missed. The shower gel was handy for the shower but out of reach for the bath, unless you know how to temporarily release it from its holder. All in all, the likes outweigh the dislikes.

Beautiful old building with oodles of character. Breakfast very good with lovely staff. Lady on reception when we checked out was a sweetheart. Room was good for price we paid. Location gorgeous even tho it was awful weather. Would deffo stay again if pillows changed!
Sleepless night due to worst pillows ever encountered, like concrete. Checking in was stressful as no one on reception & had to stand in a queue at bar to get some attention. Stay was slightly marred by inconsiderate parents ( putting it politely) allowing their young children to jump up & down on the fire escape outside our room & stare in our window. Refused to remove them when asked. This of course was no fault of the hotel!
