Great location, helpful, friendly and accommodating staff. I don't eat much carb due to diabetes, and they kindly swapped chips for a lovely salad with my steak. Food was cooked well and served quickly, well presented and tasty. We have a good sized bedroom & bathroom and the bed was very clean & comfortable.

Minor things only. The stairs were narrow & a little steep with a tight turn at the bottom with 2 doors, when both open, you are stuck in the middle. The plug didn't work in the bath, and when I hung the hand towel up, the rail came completely out of the wall with the raw plug. Finally, the toilet was totally separated off the bathroom with a door, and in the night I stubbed my little toe on the wooden freshhold, (I could have turned the light on, but don't usually in the night). Most of these things were due to the age of the building.

The location was perfect, nicely located for the event I was attending. The village itself was lovely and the locals were friendly. The breakfast was delicious 😋

I stayed in the room with the twin beds as initially was expecting there to be two of us. The beds were quite uncomfortable. Too hard for my liking but that's not to say another person may prefer that.

The staff were great. We had an issue with our room and it was dealt with quickly, with no fuss. We changed rooms, the new one was very comfortable and we had a good night's sleep. Breakfast was very good. Onsite parking

Our first room. Description was misleading and had several issues. Manager quickly resolved and the new room was great. Had a good nights sleep. Our rating for the room reflects our second room, not the first

A great room. Clean and tidy. It's not luxury but it was extremely good value for money. I could not fault the room, the staff, the breakfast or any of the facilities.

Although not an issue for me it's worth noting that the stairs up to the room are quite steep so this may be a problem for anyone with mobility restrictions. Not a lot can be done about it as this is an old building. There may even be some ground floor accommodation available. You would need to speak to the owners directly to see if there is.

It is a fantastic location. We left the car on the car park the whole weekend and walked everywhere in the village. The pub is lovely with good drink and food selection. The room was clean and comfy and the staff were very helpful and friendly. The building is so quirky and I loved that it’s a proper inn.

The windows really need some maintenance. The frame fixes are not quite flush so it rattled a lot.

Stayed at the hotel as an overnight base whilst making a move to the area and it was fantastic. Staff members were friendly and helpful; loved the cosy feel of the hotel (and the quirky signs in the pub!). Evening food and breakfast was delicious. The bed was comfy and the water in the shower was hot. Would happily stay there again

Friendly staff and the food was good and our room was really comfortable

Had room 9 and everything was fine, dont like to be picky to be honest but it could do with a good clean, lots of cobwebs all around floor area needed a good vacuuming but otherwise perfectly happy, lots of hot water too

Location was good. Bed was comfy. Food was good. Thanks for the bottled water in the room.

A fan in the room would have been appreciated. Car park was supposed to have been for residents only but there was no room when we arrived, which implies this rule wasn’t being adhered to.

The staff/owners of this hotel are exceptionally attentive and kind. The location of the property to the bus stops and other areas of Long Melford was perfect. Our room was clean, cozy and had recently went through some renovations in the bathroom.

I wished that the lighting in the bathroom had been more extensive. For example, it would have been awesome to have had an additional light on the ceiling above the sink area. Also, there is enough space in the bathroom, I believe, for a small rolling cart or perhaps some shelving. This would've been great to have had in order to set your change of clothes on or additional toiletries. As it was, the only option was to set clothes on the toilet. Lastly, the shower was nice, but leaked water on the floor regardless of how tightly closed the shower door was. I believe this was due to the small open gap between the top of the shower door and the shower frame, itself.

Staff were very accommodating and friendly, the suite was fantastic 👌

We paid for breakfast, and my wife has coeliac intolerance, this left her with minimal choices to eat, also felt that the main menu could have more intolerance options. What we did have was good though.
