The hotel is situated on National Trust Estate. The grounds are large and well maintained with plenty of different walks to enjoy. The hotel is family friendly. The food is excellent with options for every dietry needs. I was lucky to be upgraded for my visit. I had a wonderful massage and would recommend to others.

The swimming pool is located outside the hotel building with limited changing facilities. I didn't use the pool in the end, as I wasn't sufficiently organised to account for the lack of changing rooms in the pool area. Staff told me they had plans to extend the pool facilities to include changing and other spa treatments, such as a sauna and steam room.

The hotel and it's surroundings are gorgeous. The room we were in was beautiful with lots of gorgeous furniture and the bed was comfortable as well as being beautiful. The staff couldn't have been nicer or friendlier. I have food allergies and everyone was so helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for anyone and everyone seemed to be really happy at their work. We had a lovely swim and a good rest. Exactly what we needed.

The only thing that could do with improvement, but it was still good, was the swimming pool. It could just do with a bit of updating.

The look of the building is magnificent - staying in such a historic building nailed it on me booking this hotel. Fantastic location for my day and inside the layout is great - also the decor is mainly a lot of modern art and the sight possesses a chandelier which is only one of two in the world - the other, I was told, was on display in the Tate Modern.

The shower and bath were quite awkward to manoeuvre around - stand in the shower and the spouts get in the way - try and have a bath and the taps were in the way. Lift was an experience and was in need of some TLC.

We had a fabulous mid-week break at the Ickworth Hotel with our 2yo. We’ve not stayed in one of the Luxury Family Hotels before and it was a brilliant experience. The facilities available for babies/toddlers/children are outstanding. From child beds with barriers to potties, baby plates/cutlery to free milk and cookies before bed (to name a few), the service was absolutely faultless. The pool was a real favourite - lovely, warm and very clean. We intended to only stay for one night, but we had to add on an extra night, because we weren’t ready to leave. Big thanks to the team!

Beautiful concept for families, beautiful setting and property at main hotel. Great fun with pool and fun for kids and lovely walks. Food was yummy.

We stayed before and loved it. But this time we had a room not in the main property which was a building offsite and it was not nice to be honest. Room was old and not that clean. We had to ask for new sheets on bed as it smelled so bad first night. Dead flies on window sills and just needs updating. Also it was so busy there that breakfast although you book it was so slow and second day I had cold beans serviced for breakfast. Honestly never had that before but nobody came back to ask. They were overwhelmed I guess. Staff are great tho lovely people.

The staff are fantastic from the receptionists to the dining room staff - nothing is too much trouble. We stayed with our 2 year old and we had lovely, tasty meals, a fabulous dinner and breakfast and both grown ups and children were catered for. Staying in such beautiful historic buildings, with gorgeous gardens and walks on your door step, amazing playgrounds for children and a swimming pool, plus dogs allowed too, it was an idyllic family stay. The nursery, which allows you to have a few moments of peace, was great too. Five stars, I would definitely recommend it to anyone with a family.

Conservatory restaurant: seat cushions in poor state overdue replacement. Cushions for back support would be welcomed as back is quite far back for dining. Drawing room: 2 single leather chairs in poor condition, requiring replacement or reupholstering. These are due and easily resolved overnight, the property in general is lovely! Will be back soon.

Very spacious & clean apartment with large comfortable beds & lovely views Historic building on a beautiful National Trust property. Fabulous breakfast, great spa treatments & nice pool.

The apartment seemed to have alot of cluster flies. Whilst we were there (Thursday) part of the swimming pool was being used for baby swim classes, so you couldn't swim the whole length of the pool & it was quite noisy too.

I have never given a hotel full marks in every category before (and I have stayed in a lot of hotels all around the world). Location (in the National Trust property) and surroundings perfect. Staff friendly, efficient and professional. Food excellent. Room furnished with period furniture but well appointed. Large well appointed bathroom (again period furnishings) Overnight stay only so did not use the spa facilities. Seemed well appointed for children (but we did not have any with us)

Very relaxing, enjoyable stay. I suppose the swimming pool could stay open a little later, but plenty of time in the morning for a good swim, and leisurely pack up and check out. Staff were all really friendly and helpful. Very good coffee at breakfast, and coffee machine in room. In all, excellent.
