A basic buffet was offered, however the staff were very accommodating to requests, both in the restaurant and generally. The food was hot and very well presented. I really liked this Inn as it was light and airy yet it had a warm cozy feel to it too. It also had a nice outside tabled area, weather permitting.

-This was not an issue for me, however it should be noted that the stairs are steep and narrow to the first floor rooms. - Some of the rooms have the shower within the bath, whilst other rooms have a walk in shower. - there did not appear to be a relaxing/lounge area

Refurbished to a very high standard in the public areas and B&B rooms and lovely paved outside eating/drinking area. Staff very friendly and welcoming but professional with it. Superb food in the evening (sensational rare Onglet steak, cooked perfectly) and an exceptional breakfast - everything top quality. Two very good local ales on handpump plus plenty of other choices on tap, a very premium wine offering but also enough choice of affordable wines by the glass. Very good value overall given the quality of the accommodation and dining experience.

A kettle in the bedroom please. Making tea with a Nespresso machine is laborious and never tastes right.

Perfect location. Liked our spacious ground floor room. Extremely helpful and friendly staff who couldn’t do enough for us. Beautifully cooked breakfasts.

Nothing really. The cooked breakfasts took a long time but were freshly cooked so worth the wait if not in a hurry. Would have preferred a pot of coffee instead of having to wait for a second cup to be offered but these are minor things and did not detract from a very pleasant stay.

This was an excellent overnight stay in very comfortable and spotlessly maintained surroundings. It wasn't cheap, but the quality of the service and the restaurant justified the expense. The ancient village inn had been completely refurbished in a charming and elegant style. The restaurant menu was a gastronomic treat - inventive and creative cooking in a stylish and intimate environment.

The room was very clean, comfortable and stylish. The bathroom, recently re-fitted, was superficially impressive but not very practical: a high-sided Victorian-style bath, not easy to access, and a glass shower cubicle with a door that didn't close properly. Although the restaurant food was excellent and creative, the table service was sometimes un-necessarily fussy and pretentious.

Comfortable bed, good location. Cold meat and cheese platter, when requested off menu for breakfast, was excellent.

Clear view from bed into air conditioning ducting. Inexperienced staff in the evening, with lack of menu knowledge; breakfast waitress better, but venue understaffed (was told due to car breakdown of the other staff member). No milk in bedroom. Limited standard breakfast offering.

Overall, excellent first impression, welcome and ambience. Very comfortable twin bedded room for my daughter and myself for a one night B&B stay. Excellent breakfast. We shall be back!

Only slight criticism and comment was the bathroom design and fittings. Looks really nice but was impractical design with a lot of unavoidable water splashing from both the basin and the shower, and bits falling from the centre of tap handles on both basin and shower.

Perfect location for our needs

This used to be a posh pub where you could have a drink and a snack, hang out, eat a fantastic dinner, etc - now, almost every square inch is turned over to fine dining. For a drink before we went out, we were seated in a cold, dark “lounge area” where the candles weren’t even lit. Breakfast was described by our grown up sons as “the stingiest” they had ever experienced (and we lived overseas with them for 15 years, so they know a thing or two about 5* hotels). This is a beautiful venue in one of Suffolk’s prettiest villages, and the staff are absolutely wonderful, but it gave a good impression of a place that doesn’t quite know what it wants to be.

Exceeds it's promise in all respects. Staff all amazing . Friendly, welcoming, engaging all focused on ensuring you're absolute enjoyment. Food up there Michelin 5. Surrounded by original C17th classic paintings in 2 extraordinary well preserved Tudor buildings in the heart of the Dedham Vale one of the jewels of historic England.

Loved it here - stylish, comfortable, amazing food, quiet and great friendly service. Perfect for a weekend away! Recommended.

Nothing. Only minor thing for me was that the rain shower was low over the bath so I couldn’t fully stand under it. But my friend had a room with a great separate shower to the bath, so just check this if you’re over 5’ 10.

Food was absolutely superb and staff very friendly throughout our two night stay. Hotel and our room very clean, bed super comfortable with great amenities.

Nothing, we absolutely loved the Angel Inn and will have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending to family and friends, and staying there again should we be in the area.
