Location for exploring area. Garden beautiful and relaxing (We complimented the gardeners). Evening meals/presentation. Chef adjusted meal for dairy intolerance (we thanked the chef via the table server). Lovely polite staff. Thanked room service staff upon leaving.
Very limited dairy free (intolerance) meal/milk alternatives. Menu says milk ‘alternativeS’ but ONLY ‘alternative’! Singular not plural. We did ask but told only oat milk. Continental breakfast ~ salami and ham meat only. No bread rolls. One yoghurt choice. No sliced cheeses. Tiny mixed bowl of fruit pieces. Limited cereal choices. Breakfast rated lowest in our experience of three recent other 5 star hotels visited in uk in 2025. Cooked breakfast good, but laboriously slow process of standing in long queues whilst a member of staff individually served you. Stayed five days. Had to go and ask for a clothes rail as only an 8” long rail in a tiny alcove to hang clothes on. Surely management would known up front this would be required. Front of staff attended to straight away, so staff 10/10.

The garden was beautiful, quiet and very big, with wildlife around you. Felt like you could go on long walks and have your own personal space. We had pizza and snacks which was fine but little pricy. Not too many complaints regarding the spa, but I’d felt it was on the smaller side. Does get very busy at day time. The shower facilities were clean and up to good standards. The relaxation room is nice, we went and nodded off there a few times. Was very accommodating as we was allowed to check in and use the spa and grounds earlier and the next day on check out we was allowed to stay and use the facilities until late.
Room no air con so was uncomfortable nights sleep.

Breakfast, for a buffet, was delicious. Good quality ingredients and morning staff were polite and friendly. My room was spotless. Staff on reception were so lovely and welcoming! I remember the guy from last time. Also in the bar and restaurant area in general the staff were lovely.
The spa is quite rundown when you look up and around and has been for a few years now as I am a returning customer and have noticed no changes.. Spa reception staff could be friendlier and helpful however my treatment lady was so warm and welcoming. Bottled Water in the room would be nice considering the price for the night.. The charge for early spa access I found quite steep considering I was only a little early for room check in..

Very lucky to find this wonderful place, we just used it as a stop gap between visiting relatives so were unable to try any of the treatments in the spa due to our timing but will definitely be going back. Stunning location, a large spacious contemporary double with a view of the grounds and pond, the staff were excellent from beginning to end and the restaurant was perfect. Value for money for the room and the food at that quality was amazing.
We've travelled quite extensively and couldn't find a fault with our one night stay. Highly recommended and will definitely be returning.

Spa facilities good, the dinner menu is inventive & the quality of service, food, cooking & presentation was exceptional.
Breakfast choice is very good but I found the majority of the hot breakfast food overcooked & I had to order & wait for fried eggs for 5 minutes on both mornings; no sour dough bread available on second morning, was told it was still in the freezer! Price of wine bordering on extortionate but, unfortunately, that's quite usual these days! Compared to other spa's we've visited, the cost of spa treatments are expensive. Some of the more sophisticated treatments are around £150+ but we baulked at paying £99 each for a basic, 50 minute back & neck massage & we didn't bother this time!

ROOM WAS A VERY GOOD SIZE, WASNT EXPECTING IT TO BE SO BIG. IT WAS VERY HOT IN THE ROOM THOUGH AND CORRIDORS, EVEN THOUGH IT WASN'T WARM OUTSIDE, WE WENT END OF SEPTEMBER. SPA FACILITIES WERE EXCELLENT, REALLY ENJOYED THEM. THE FOOD WAS ALSO GOOD, THERE COULD'VE BEEN A BIT MORE CHOICE. BREAKFAST WAS VERY GOOD AND HAD PLENTY OF CHOICE. ALL STAFF AND SERVICE WERE EXCELLENT. THE GROUNDS ARE LOVELY TO WALK IN. WE WILL VISIT AGAIN
THE HEAT IN THE ROOM, WE CERTAINLY WOULDN'T ENTERTAIN THE IDEA OF GOING IN THE SUMMER IT WOULD BE UNBEARABLE EVEN THOUGH THERE WAS A FAN IN THE ROOM. COULD'VE DONE WITH A WINDOW EVEN THOUGH THERE WAS FRENCH DOORS, WE COULDN'T HAVE THEM OPEN WITH THE CURTAINS OPEN OR PEOPLE COULD SEE IN AND IF THE CURTAINS ARE CLOSED (AT NIGHT) YOU WOULDN'T FEEL THE BENEFIT

friendly and helpful staff, clear guidelines so, as first time guests, we knew what the expectations were and what to do! Lovely Spa area, very well maintained by leisure assistant who clearly took pride in her work. Comfortable room, nice grounds. Good breakfast. Relaxed and friendly atmosphere. All the practical aspects had been considered to make the stay as easy as possible.
The exterior of the accommodation building is concrete and water stained and gives a poor first impression as well as spoiling some views from the garden. once inside, all is lovely but the outside really needs some attention, either cleaning, painting or cladding. The vegetation options for main course at dinner were disappointing. The “cassoulet” is actually a very mild vegetable curry and the Wellington is a vegetable lattice pie/pasty. The gnocchi was ok but would have benefitted from a side salad (would have needed to order separately). It looked like more attention had been given to the meat dishes and the desserts and the lunch options looked good although we didn’t eat lunch.

The hotel is excellent - bedrooms are comfortable, spotless and have great views over the beautiful gardens. Spa facilities are excellent. Food is always fabulous. When not using the spa, gardens are lovely to explore.
No mini fridge or bottled water in the room. Hotel temperature roasting on a hot Summer day when you would normally be walking around the hotel / spa in a robe but it was much too warm. Bedroom was also very warm even with windows open. Food service was not great - for example potatoes ordered with the main course did not turn up at all and port ordered with the cheese course did not arrive with the cheese.

Breakfast was fairly standard hotel breakfast, Room was contemporary, large, comfortable bed and fabulous view overlooking a stunning garden, with lakes and trees. The staff were efficient and friendly. The hotel has lots of seating areas where you can just read a book. The grounds are extensive , the spa was busy during the day, but you could swim, early morning and late evening.
The room was missing a fridge. Swimmers would appreciate an outside pool.
