There isn't much choice of accommodation in Stowmarket, but the Cedars is generally the best option - nice and quiet, best location (its not right in the centre, bit its at least walkable, unlike other options!) Rooms a bit dated, but perfectly fine for the money. I've stayed in the past when breakfast was offered which was great. Unfortunately breakfast isn't currently offered, but I understand that the accommodation is due to be majorly refurbished/extended soon, and expect breakfast will return after that. Until then you have ALDI, Tesco, Mcdonalds, Costa all just under a mile away, so not far to go for something to eat. Was able to check in late at night, staff are lovely and very helpful

Room was missing towels initially but quickly sorted.

The two members of staff we saw were very helpful. We had to call reception out of hours and our complaint was dealt with straight away.

No fault of the hotel but a couple in the next bedroom had tv on very very loud till 2am then loud music going on till 2.30 when we decided to complain. Shaun from reception dealt with our complaint immediately but we didn’t get a good nights sleep! I understand that Best Western no longer own the hotel.

The staff, especially all the receptionists were very friendly and helpful. Very quiet and safe location, with police station just around the corner. Great value for money!

The location is at the edge of Stowmarket, a 15 - 20 min walk from city centre. Part of the hotel is it's closed restautant, so it can look a bit rundown to some.

Comfortable bed. Tea, coffee and biscuits. Quiet location.

Some very loud people in the middle of the night at 02.00, and again at 06.00 + 08.00 in a neighbouring room with children who kept coming and going, shouting loudly. A hazard of any stay, I'd guess. Shower not very powerful but water was a lovely temperature.

Beautifully clean from what I saw. Really pleasant staff (Vicky the breakfast lady is very sweet and attentive without being annoying). Breakfast was really good 👍🏼

Hotel and grounds a bit tatty round the edges and could do with tarting up a bit, but like I said lovely and clean so not a massive problem

Disappointed no restaurant. Needs some updating. Generally very satisfied though. Super comfy mattresses, good heating and hot water.

A noisy neighbour!

Going to be honest i only used the hotel to sleep and shower and had read the reviews, yes the hotel is in need of a referb and the staff know it so it is a bit dated and they know this too but for the price i paid i couldnt fault it nothing was to much trouble for the friendly staff

Needed to leave early on Sat before 0800 breakfast but staff were setting up as I left and looked a quite good continental - I know they offer full English. Will try next time.

While the building might be older and "tired", it was easy to book, check-in and out. Very clean, excellent towels/bedding. Plenty of car park space and not a long distance to reception. Bar was open and reasonably priced. Perfect for a short stay or transit journey, but I would stay there for longer with the price. Exceptional VfM

The food was very good, well cooked and hot. Lots of choice for breakfast. Dinner was also very nice

taps in bath dripped. Meal in the evening took a long time to come. A noisy band of children played outside our bedroom windown shouting at the top of their voices, even when it was dark. We asked them to stop, but it didn't make any difference, their parents were with them, but did nothing to control them.

The staff were exceptionally good. The bed was comfy, the cleaner had done a good job, lovely white bedding, all clean

Aware that where we are staying is ready for refurbishment, carpets paintwork and bathrooms very old and tired
