Staff were very friendly on check in. The hotel is in a central location but quiet and with free parking which was a great bonus. Breakfast was included with porridge, juice and pain au chocolates in a little bag which was lovely. The room was comfortable and a fan had been included during the heat wave which was a godsend! Towels and a bar of soap included. Any additional items could be grabbed from a “help yourself” at reception. Would definitely stay again.

The extractor fan in the bathroom needed cleaning and there were a few hairs on the bathroom wall. The desk was a little battered but very minor details that could be easily rectified. It would also be nice to have a shampoo included as well as the bar of soap.

Spacious, clean room, nice views, comfortable bed, decent shower, very friendly and helpful welcome at reception - free breakfast pack included (instant porridge, apple juice and a danish pastry), which was unexpected and a very kind gesture. Great location, easy short walk to centre and waterfront. Free parking. Fantastic value for money.

Nowhere to hang towels - a minor issue but a very easy fix. Decor and furnishings in the room are a bit tired - but perfectly clean and very acceptable for the price.

I can say that everything about this hotel was exceptional. Staff was very courteous and friendly, and helped me to check in without any worries. The facilities were great, there was a microwave inside each hotel room, and the hotel was nearby. Local shops and amenities. I could even walk to the town centre within 10 minutes time, and to the quayside in around 25 minutes. Rooms were clean. Showers were hot. TV was great. I will definitely choose this place again if I'm back in Ipswich, and I think that comparatively, I couldn't have found a better deal.

I cannot complain about a thing at this hotel. Even the parking was great!

Pleasantly surprised. Dont normally stay at small independent hotels but this was decent and im quite fussy.. the ensuite room was excellent value for money....it was clean, decent decor..not a miah mash of nonsenae that you often get at similar hotels. Will stay here again if im working in the area.

Nothing to write home about..if i was nit picking the stairs up to my top floor room was a slight pain but that really is nit picking. I would heartily recommend

The staff I interacted with were very welcoming and helpful. The room, bed, and bathroom were comfortable and clean. Parking was available, and when it got busy the owners were helpful with providing further information regarding where else to park.

The only minor inconvenience I faced was that the drainage was ever so slightly slow while I was showering, which meant I had to periodically stop the water to prevent the shower basin from overflowing.

Cheap and cheerful en suite single room with TV, tea and coffee and a fan. Really good communicate with the hotel, as I was going to check in late in the evening (9pm). Staff were really good. Felt comfortable and safe as a solo female. The internet was fantastic - I'm used to chain hotels being terrible. I would happily stay again. Also the breakfast bag with croissant, porridge and apple juice was unexpected but appreciated. Plenty of parking in front of the hotel and on road. I parked in their carpark behind the hotel. Very narrow to get in but my 2-seater was fine.

I was worried about the bed / mattress being soft but slept very well.

Friendly, helpful welcome. Facilities were good for what I paid and I was especially grateful for the parking. Location was good for a music festival I was attending. Would happily stay again.

Not a gripe, more something to note - they do warn you that the access to the rear parking is tight, but do take this seriously, especially as it gets narrower as you go in! (there is parking on the front as well)

We were thrilled with our last minute choice - plans had changed and we were lucky enough to find this gem. The proprietor was so welcoming even though we were very late arriving. Very encompassing welcome and delightful add on of a 'start your day' goodie bag even though there was no breakfast included in the room rate. Exceptionally clean and parking available too. Delighted with The Carlton and felt well taken care of - we were personally farewelled too

Staff is very friendly and welcoming. There was a special treat of a free breakfast pack option which I did not use, but appreciated. My room was small, but I understood it would be when I made my reservation.

Everything was as advertised or better. For a higher price, you may get more comfort, but it was OK in price-value terms.

The peoperty was very easy to locate and accessible to several amenities like food stores, shops and many other services. The internet was fast. What stood out for me the most was how nice and helpful the host, Imran was. He was so kind and supportive, every concerned raised he would immediately work on it. He even helped me sort out my train ticket and was kind enough to call for me a taxi twice. I would highly recommend this place to anyone
