Nice fresh feel to the refurbished room spacious bathroom comfy bed soft pillows coffee machine and kettle sofa seemed to be no expense spared with the modern twist in the décor to a character property staff seemed welcoming enough

Spent too much time ducking to really enjoy the stay felt like a hunchback ! i appreciate that its an old style building but seemed to be an awful lot of low beams! No fridge food prices downstairs in the restaurant area ridiculous even for a bistro pub £17.95 for an unremarkable lasagna served with 2 sorry looking overdone pieces of garlic bread should at least have come with a salad ! our starters of king prawns and chorizo was swimming in oil overall flattered to deceive shame as i had heard good things from local friends perhaps might consider a fairer priced set menu in the future might bring in more customers as well you never know !

Lovely pub in a quiet, picturesque village serving good food and run by friendly staff. Comfortable room just over the road from the pub.

Our overnight stay was spoilt by a faulty boiler causing us to wake up with no hot water. After we alerted staff the fault was quickly rectified, but we couldn't delay our departure to wait for the water to heat up and no discount was offered. The breakfast was very good but was served with toasted processed sliced bread rather than the grilled sourdough on the menu.

The food at the Pointer is excellent and the staff are lovely. The room was a good size and shower was good.

The room I was in was Dexter it was a little tired scuff marks and broken hooks which surprised me considering the price point of this room, I stay in hotels regularly. Pillows were not great. Parking hit or miss but not the fault of hotel as it's street parking.

Friendly and attentive welcome. Dining/ breakfast ambiance was fantastic. Food was of a far higher standard than expected for a 'country pub'. Interesting menus and skillful cooking. Attentive but not pushy service. Delightful Room; simple well designed details. Lovely big and very comfortable bed. Great shower. Attractive and historic village setting.

Lighting in bedroom was quite dim. Long mirror positioned in the bathroom was inconvenient for dressing.

We loved the village location, which was quiet picturesque and friendly 😀 It was a short drive to Bicester village. The Room was lovely and had a nice feel at home feel to it. The bathroom was just BEAUTIFULLY and had to take advantage of the freestanding bath 🛁 The pub/restaurant was very nice, very good food and attentive staff. Free parking Dressing gowns Toiletries Lots of attention to detail Etc, etc, etc Would definitely recommend. Our room was longhorn 👍

Lovely village / lovely pub. Pleasant rooms

Dexter was v cold and unwelcoming when we arrived . Tried to get heating on but to no avail . Then eventually heating came on and it was too hot . We booked 3 rooms - 2 were great but Dexter was a little tired with stains on carpet and on wall . Could be improved for the price . Breakfast should definitely be included in the price .

We had a lovely room that was in a building across the road from the pub. Very comfortable large bed and a smart spacious bathroom. Soft fluffy towels / bathrobes and quality toiletries. We ate at the pub where the food was really good quality and the customer service spot on.

The only reason I marked the property down slightly was the fact that they charged extra for a small dog. I know this is generally the case but my view is that the room should be thoroughly cleaned whether there is a dog or not (which it was by the way), so why the extra cost.

Large clean and relaxing room, with a very comfortable bed. Huge beautiful bathroom with free standing bath tub and large shower. Very good dinner and breakfast at the pub. Friendly staff and lovely location.

It would have been nice if the bedroom windows had some privacy curtains in addition to the blackout ones.

Location - close to The Oxford Gun Club which was purpose of visit. Great bar area and menu. Food delicious. Good selection of wine, loved having Whispering Angel by the glass. Fantastic room cosy but spacious enough for our dog’s travel crate. Great bath and shower. Lovely linen and bathrobes. Comfy bed.

Fantastic location, lovely staff and a very comfortable room and restaurant.

The breakfast was a slight disappointment - no fruit or juice included - and cooked breakfast choice not really hot on arrival. Seemed to be missing a few garnishes (seeds, rocket etc). But everything was very tasty and I think I may have just been a little unlucky.
