the accommodation was pretty much empty I didn't see anyoe else until I checked out the room was great in the penthouse. I would rebook if I needed to come and stay again

having to pay an extra £15 on top of the booking was ok but then I was informed that I needed to pay a £100 security deposit that would be refunded a couple of days after checking out. It then took a week to ge the deposit back

A budget accommodation at an excellent location, with all the basics. I can say, it's better than others in this category.

No clear info about check-in, especially in the booking.com interface: once it says confirmed, then turns out it's not, I have to upload my passport to get the check-in details and even provide my bank card directly to their company.

Some key things you should know before booking - read carefully their terms. I read it, so it wasn’t a surprise for me, but many people in reviews clearly did not and they left a lot of negative comments :) In brief: they will ask for proof of your identity, fill a form and also a 100 pounds refundable deposit that you won’t get back immediately after you leave (depending on a bank). I’m still waiting for that, it’s been a week, hopefully in the next week or 2 at most I’ll see it. This is all needed to keep prices affordable (e.g. they don’t have reception to check your documents on arrival). Once you submit all the docs and pay the deposit, they will send you instructions on how to check in and get your keys. I stayed for 5 weeks. Let’s move to advantages: Location is very central, proximal to many shops, restaurants, university, public transport, train station. It was easy to get to work for me Unlike a hotel, there is a washing machine. The room was heated well even during cold times so you can easily dry your clothes inside quickly. This way you can save time and money on launderette. Unlike a hotel, there is a reasonably well-equipped and spacious kitchen. Knives though could be sharpened and some utensils restocked. There are 2 fridges, one is newer. Kitchen is not busy at all, so you can use it pretty much any time. The house is very quiet. I only saw one party that continued after 10pm though I did not hear them since I was staying on the top floor. I could easily go to bed early and get up early. Staff is very polite and friendly and always happy to help. They resolved my issues pretty quickly. My room was facing the backyard, so it was quiet. Internet connection was stable. No issues with shower as mentioned by some guests (always nice and hot)

Some things to take into account: Quality of cleaning depends on the day/person, sometimes it’s good, sometimes it’s not so good, but overall satisfactory The bathroom is indeed very small (well, I suppose that it’s just characteristic of an old English house) and towel dryer was very close to the toilet so I scolded myself couple times a bit shorter bed that I'd be perfectly comfortable with (I'm relatively tall person)

Good location to city centre and the room was equipped with essentials like kettle and toiletries. The bed was comfy too.

The standard check in time could have been an hour earlier at 2pm rather than 3pm

The central location was great, the room and facilities were really clean.

There was no key in the safe when I arrived but staff sorted this out.promptly. the room was tired with cracks in the wall and a very squeaky bed. The furniture looked good, but was flimsy.

Mattress could be better

Great location, loads of great restaurants nearby, and a very pleasant short walk to the city centre. Quiet and comfortable apartment. Netflix was a bonus!

I don't really like self check in generally - always nice to chat to someone when arriving! The additional forms when booking was a pain. The kitchen could have done with a few more utensils and a tea towel

If there was any kind of reception it will be more splendid

I know this sounds picky but there was no toilet roll, I was only staying one night so it mean’t a rush out to the shops for toilet roll. If items like this aren’t supplied it would be helpful to put it in clearly in the description

Great location, nice en suite room and I could use the shared kitchen a lot.
